Binge Watchers, #COYER and Blogging Ahead ~ WIR & SP

Posted June 18, 2017 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 24 Comments

Did you see it? On Thursday I posted the NEW Meme that Stormi and I came up with. It’s called Binge Watchers.

Basically you just binge watch shows and chat about it….Ready for the best part? No Templates and No post requirements, you can do whatever you want, make the post as unique as you like. You can talk about whatever as long as it’s about binge watching a show. Stop by the post to read all the details. It starts next Wednesday!

COYER started on Saturday! You still have plenty of time to sign up. I am hoping to catch up on my reading because I think I’ve hit a major slump and I can now get to the books I want to read instead of have to read.

I will be trying to blog ahead the next two weeks because I am still very behind but at this point I am ok with it. It might be spotty for a few weeks but eventually I will find a rhythm again.

Otherwise, things are good, I have been design busy and just finished an epic job and have a few others that I need to get too. I am hoping to get some of those done this week. It’s the last week of school for my kids so I am looking forward to not having to get up early and not making lunch. My son has summer school for special needs but that is only for 3 weeks in July so the summer is almost officially here for us. I am in serious need of a vacation but I don’t have any vacation days at work left because without us knowing they were taken away from us for time we missed last year. Which totally sucks and I am so pissed off about it. September might be the time for big changes around here and with everything that has happened the first half of the year, I think I am ready. What that will be, I don’t know yet, but I do plan to take a week off anyway in August because at this point I just really don’t care anymore. 17 years working for someone who spends all his time taking stuff away from us…don’t even ask the last time I had a raise, probably the job before this one. Lots of take away and no giving makes me think I need a change. I think we could use something different. I wish my design business was able to help me with that but I am working on it…trust me I am! πŸ™‚ I need something better for us and our kids our only hold back is my son’s school, but for a better life I might reconsider. At the moment this is my only anxiety and stress, otherwise, not kidding, I am fantastic! Blogging is awesome, reading slump will pass and my son is doing amazing. I’ll probably get struck by lightning but at this moment I am good! πŸ˜‰ lol

  1. I like your idea for the new meme, it sounds fun! I changed my reading recently to read more books I want to instead of only the ones I got for review. I found a nice balance right now I think.

That’s nasty they took away your vacation days! And now you can’t take a vacation :(. I hope your design business keeps growing, so maybe you can do something different soon! I am glad to hear everything besides that is good!

I hope you have a great week!

    • I have a few review books to read but they are books I wanted to read. I am trying to be more selective.
I will be taking a no pay vacation which really isn’t going to help financially but I need it. We decided not to go away and instead do day trips, it should be fun.
I hope so too, the balance is a little hard right now but I am hopeful things will start to work out soon.

    • Stormi and I are very excited about the meme, we had the same idea and mushed it together to make a meme. I hope you join both! They are a lot of fun πŸ™‚

  2. Binge watching shows is one of the best parts about living in this time in history, in my opinion! It is so nice to just watch show after show without having to wait a week, or months in the case of some shows. I hope I can participate really soon in your new meme. Good for you on not getting a bunch of new books. I hope you enjoy the three you acquired. I also wish you the best of luck with COYER and blogging ahead. Have a great week!

    • Exactly, hope you can join in, every two weeks isn’t bad and you don’t have to do it like that either. Join in when you can πŸ™‚ COYER Is always fun πŸ™‚ glad you joined us this time!

  3. The getting struck by lightening comment made me laugh. We’re the same way. Things are going good so what bad thing is going to happen? That SUCKS about your vacation days. Ugh very not cool. Best of luck with whatever changes you make. Enjoy the slightly slower pace of summer. Have a great week!

    • πŸ™‚ yes and I’m feeling burn out and want to take a day but know I can’t, last “mental health day” was in November. It sucks.

  4. That really stinks about the vacation thing. I hope things work out for you with your graphic design. I just checked into what Coyer was…I’ve seen tons of posts about it and now I finally know. And yeah, sounds like something I NEED to do!

    Have a great week πŸ™‚

  5. Binge Watchers sounds awesome, and I know a lot of peeps binge. We did one show on Netflix 6 episodes in 2 days..lol Mostly we watch shows we have recorded but no more than 2 episodes at a time. Sorry about the Scrooge employer. Kudos for you for staying I would have quit. LOL

    • Exactly, depending on what I am watching I will put it on the TV when I am cooking and watch. When it’s something I never saw I have to pay more attention I usually watch as many as I can.
Thanks lol, I just nuts for staying but I don’t have anyone to get the kids and I needed to stay for the hours however, talking to my husband we might be able to work something out. I hope! πŸ™‚

  6. I’m excited for COYER. I was dreading the rules, but they seem simple enough to follow. I made my list and even listed the first 5 books I want to add. I finished one book yesterday from my list and started the second and made it 50% through. Seems like a good start to the summer!

    • The rules change all the time, summer is a lot easier than winter and if the list didn’t work you could just go with the option of just reading anything and everything. We like to just get you reading and reviewing. You really are off to a great start. I am officially starting on Monday since this weekend is busy with Father’s Day and me cooking, All day today! πŸ™‚

  7. That would piss me off to about the vacation days! I hope you can make that change when the time comes and that it will go great for all of you. I hope you business takes off and becomes huge and you can get rid of that bad job. πŸ™‚ *hugs*

You were a good girl with books and I was not. πŸ™‚ πŸ˜‰

    Have a great day!

    • We did it every two weeks because it was just so hard to schedule stuff weekly. It’s a binge watching kind of life now. I enjoy it better than watching when the show is one. I have sooo many I want to get too so this will be fun.
Thank you! I have my fingers crossed.

  8. Glad COYER’s back and I think Binge Watchers will be fun. Lord only knows I binge watch enough, I should have lots to post about lol.

Sorry to hear about the work thing, I know someone who worked for a company for about 20 years and they did things like that. She just got new job. the old place I guess had shitty benefits, wouldn’t even offer direct deposit (hello it’s 2017, my company INSISTED on DD lol) and they were assholes about this and that. She seems a lot happier now. It’s hard to make changes though for sure. Good luck with your situation whatever you end up doing.

    Story thieves- rad cover!

    • I think we all do and it will be so much fun to chat about it! πŸ™‚

It really stinks, we don’t get Direct Deposit, we don’t even get pay stubs which we all find very strange but he wont tell us why. I’ve over stayed, seriously. I love doing graphics and it will be hard to find another job but even if I have to start at the bottom again at this point I can only go up because this job was the bottom of the bottom, I just stayed so I can get my design stuff up, I almost left 2 years ago.
