Cover Characteristic ~ Mechanical & Robots

Posted January 9, 2017 by Michelle in Cover Characteristic / 22 Comments

Welcome to my first Cover Characteristic! This is originally Hosted by Sugar and Snark but the blogger is on hiatus and I thought I would do my own take on it. When they return, I will juggle between doing mine and theirs. Don’t want to step on any toes. I have been eyeing up the meme for a while and am excited to finally be joining in. I am still working out the kinks, lol, but since this is my first one I am hoping the layout and ideas will get better over time, so thank you for your patience.

This weeks theme is Mechanical/Robots.

Books I Read

The covers is what drew me in to read these. I might not have loved all of them but that doesn’t take away the fact that I really still loved the covers. Camelot Burning might be my favor cover in the books that I read.

Books I want to Read

How hard is it not to want to read these. I did start Diabolic and it wasn’t catching my interest, but I really want to try it again, I think it was just my mood and that dreaded slump I was having last year. I am looking forward to diving into these this year and hope to get to them soon..especially Scrap City! I love that cover for the list of books I want to read.

Book I Found

While I was lookingย I was having a hard time staying focused. Will you look at that Frost cover!!! I added it to my TBR. The synopsis sounded so interesting and I couldn’t resist. However my favorite cover in the found section was The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot. Not even for the robots sadly but because those little aliens are so cute!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next weeks theme is Superheros

  1. Oh yay, your first cover post! Great choice of topic. Don’t worry, even when they do the official topics, sometimes, if I don’t like them, I’ll just do my own that week. And it also took me a while to figure out exactly how I wanted to do the layout.

Anyway, Untimed looks awesome! Is that a steampunk, cyborg pirate?? I think that cover is my favorite. And I have Freak of Nature on my kindle, I just haven’t read it yet. Scrap City has a cute cover, and I’ve always liked the cover for Frost. The Six is a nice cover too and also looks like it could be interesting!

    • I have a huge list of topics I want to use and YES! If they do come back and I don’t like the topic I will do exactly that. I am sticking with this layout for now but how do you avoid having so many pictures in your Media folder? I am trying to find a way to do it and still make it look nice.

Untimed was a little all over the place, I always liked the cover, I believe (I read it a long time ago) it has a bit of steampunk. I am planning to read Scrap City this year because I just love the sound and look of that book. I added Frost to My TBR. It looks like something I might like. This cover post is really added a lot to my TBR, wait until tomorrow. I think I added all the ones I found lol

      • Almost every cover post I do ends up adding to my TBR lol. As for avoiding pictures in my media folder, I have a plugin that creates Amazon links with pictures, so I use that. It keeps the pictures from showing up under the media section in my blog so that I at least don’t have to see the clutter, but it still adds them to the actual folder, like, in the blog files at the hosting or whatever. You could make an image that includes numerous covers, but that’s also more work :-/

  2. The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot sound veeeerrrrry familiar! ๐Ÿ™‚ The aliens also look like green minions.

  3. Very nice! I like Freak of Nature (and wanted to read that one), and Camelot Burning is nice. I like Railhead a lot too!

I really like The three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot. Cool cover- they almost looks like Minions ha ha. Robota looks a little freaky!

    Nice picks Michelle!!

  4. These are all great picks! I haven’t read any of them, but Cinder is on my to-read list and that cover for Scrap City is so pretty I am tempted to add it just for that. I like the amount of detail on the Railhead cover, I think I’ve seen it before on your blog, during one of your my to-be read list polls I think? And the aliens on the cover for The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot are so cute indeed!

    • Thanks Barb! I need to read that last book in the cinder series (I know that’s not what it’s called lol) I am really interested in Frost the cover is gorgeous!
