Week in Read-View ~ Summer Reading

Posted June 24, 2013 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 0 Comments

I was so happy to be able to finish my summer reading list this week
at least to a point.
If you missed my post here is the link so you can see what books
I will be spending my summer with
It really stressed me out trying to figure out what books I wanted to read over the summer
Why? I have no idea…
I try very hard to be organized, I feel much better knowing what my plans are.
It also feels great to be able to get through a few of the books I have been really wanting to read.
This week I was able to finish one great book, finish another and a start a book from my list.
Jump When Ready by David Pandolfe
I have the blog tour with Review for it on June 26th.
Very good book can’t wait to share it with you.
I also read
Barbie Girl by Heidi Acsota
Another very good read. Totally hit home for me.
Can’t wait to read the second one which I’m hoping to get soon.
Have a blog tour for these books on July 18th
This is the one I am reading now!!!
PODs by Michelle Pickett

Seventeen-year-old Eva is a chosen one. Chosen to live, while others meet a swift and painful death from an incurable virus so lethal, a person is dead within days of symptoms emerging. In the POD system, a series of underground habitats built by the government, she waits with the other chosen for the deadly virus to claim those above. Separated from family and friends, it’s in the PODs she meets David. And while true love might not conquer all, it’s a balm for the broken soul.

After a year, scientists believe the population has died, and without living hosts, so has the virus. That’s the theory, anyway. But when the PODs are opened, survivors find the surface holds a vicious secret. The virus mutated, infecting those left top-side and creating… monsters.

Eva and David hide from the infected in the abandoned PODs. Together they try to build a life–a new beginning. But the infected follow and are relentless in their attacks. Leaving Eva and David to fight for survival, and pray for a cure.

I can not wait to finish this book and talk about it. I can’t even tell you
how many panic attacks I have had reading it. I LOVE IT so far!!!!
The rest of the week has been rather quiet but a little busy.
My daughter had her first recital, she did such a great job.
My sons face watching his sister dance was filled with so much pride.
He kept hugging her and tell her she did such a great job.
These kids melt my heart.
The Summer is finally here my daughters last day of school is tomorrow.
So I will have a kindergartner and a 3rd Graders next year.
I can’t believe it both will be in school full days!!!
I can’t believe how big they are getting. Way to fast for me.
Now that the kids are home I will probably have to wrestle them off the computer for a turn.
Maybe I should get one of those pick a number machines 🙂

Just a quick note to all AUTHORS
I might offer something to authors to be able to do spotlights on my blog since when I am offered to do reviews if I can’t do them I usually will ask if you would like your book spotlighted on my blog.
So I thought maybe I would offer it to everyone instead of just people who ask for reviews….
BUT…..
I need to work out the details first and I will post it here,
on twitter and my blog under a heading called Author Spotlight.
So many great books I just don’t have time to read them all or if it’s something that’s not for me doesn’t mean someone else might not like it. I will keep you all posted.
Give me a couple days to work out the details.

This will be for my blog only I AM NOT doing TOURS!!!!

Also don’t forget I will be joining the circus on July 1st
