Topic of the week…My Mom’s Favorite Books
I think my love for reading came from my mom, she took me to library school in the summer, always drove me to the book store to get books and introduced me to my first historical romance. So I asked my mom her favorite books, she gave me 3…who has 3 favorite books?!?!?! Apparently my mom, which totally ruined this weeks top ten 😉
My Mom 3 Favorite books…
- Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell ~ As much as my mom loved the book, I adored the movie. I did read a little bit of the book but I actually read the second book. Thankfully my mom was able to give me a brief update about the first book so I wasn’t totally lost since she had more children in the book than in the movie.
- The Other Side of Midnight (Midnight #1) by Sidney Sheldon ~ I actually remember her reading this book, she never got around to reading #2 but has read a few Sidney Sheldon books. If you ask for her recommendation this is pretty much the book she will throw at you. She has been wanting me to read it but it’s just not my kind of read.
- Lucky Santangelo series by Jackie Collins ~ This is my mom’s all time favorite author. She LOVES the Santangelo series. When I asked her what her favorite books were this was the series she said after Gone with the Wind. She is currently reading the last book in the series since Mrs. Collins has passed away. I don’t know if anyone will take over the series or if the series is now ended. I guess I will find out when my mom is finished reading it.
That is it, my boring mother only has 3 favorites….can’t seem to wrap my head around that. Please don’t ask me what my favorites are the list is longer than Santa’s Naughty and Nice list. LOL
Have an recommendation for my mom, starting to think I might need to help her find her next favorite author.
Thanks for stopping by
Have a great day and Happy Reading

I’ve had Gone With The Wind for years and never got into it yet. Yay, I need to as soon as possible though but I heard that it doesn’t have a happy ending so I’m not so sure anymore.
Anyway, awesome list, Michelle. I’ll check out the other two. 😁
Wow! Only 3? How is that possible? I love that your mother was your original book pusher. I read Gone With the Wind and it’s about 100 books in one. It’s quite a read.
I know right! Hows mom is she really?!?! She can’t possibly be mine lol.
Gone with the Wind is a hefty read the second one wasn’t that bad. I did somewhat enjoy it if I remember correctly! 🙂
OOh nice mom topic!! My mom rarely has time for reading anymore since she reviews contracts all day as her job. It’s understandable why she rarely reads anymore! I try to get her to read some of my books on a rare occasion though! Heehee!
Old Follower 🙂
My mom can take up to a month or more to finish reading a book! 🙂 She is very picky about what she reads. Like my sister only reads Time Travel romance. I don’t know where I came from, I read anything. lol
Ha ha, my mom loved horror and romance and I got my love of reading from her as nobody else in my family reads. That is why my father can’t get my addiction…lol.
She always took me to the library and bookstore. She’s the reason for my obsession for books lol. My dad doesn’t really get it either.
The Other Side of Midnight- lol. My mom had that one too. She had all those kinds of books when I was growing up and I remember that one and others in the living room or wherever. Kathleen Woodiwiss too lol. How I remember that is beyond me- must have been the covers. o.O
But yeah Mom I think jumpstarted my reading too, or enabled it anyway. She’d always get me gift cards for like bookstores so I could buy a ton of books… good times.
Mom’s are awesome lol I also remember that cover. They all looked sort of the same.
Love that your mother helped with the post! I love the movie Gone With the Wind, so I really must read the book sometime.
I wish I had read the first one but the second was pretty good also. I actually enjoyed it just not the movie of book 2. That was bad lol
GWTW was a good one! I ruined my own Top Ten this week because I was too tired and it was late…Hahahaha! But I have 5 on mine 😉 Great idea for the prompt!
My full plan was to have 10 when she came up with three I was so confused lol.
Thanks 🙂 lol
