And….I got books ~ WIR & TSP

Posted November 8, 2015 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 34 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

So I am actually very excited about something that happened this week and I am hoping it’s ok to share with you all. Lola from Lola’s Reviews asked me this week if Limabean Designs would want to do her Tour Banners for her, if you don’t know Lola runs Lola’s Blog Tours an awesome tour company that I highly recommend if you are an author. I was so happy that she thought of me when her old banner maker was unable to do it for her anymore. She also asked if I make teasers for books….of course I do!!! So she is adding that in to the tours as well. I am so excited and can’t wait to start working with her to make the banners for her tour company. I am hoping this opens a few more doors for me when it comes to Limabean Designs and I am hoping to be able to help her in return. She is amazing to work with and I am so happy I am getting a chance to work with her more.

This week, otherwise, has been rather slow, my Christmas obsession is getting worse and I am becoming really sappy and emotional plus I started listening to country music again which is messing me all up. I am going to be a disaster by Dec 26. I also have an unusual craving for Candy Canes, if I start laughing and it sounds like Ho Ho Ho you might want to call someone, I might need more help than I realize. πŸ˜‰ We only have 46 days left until the big guy in the red suit drops down the chimney with a bag full of gifts. I’M SO EXCITED! I really do love this time of year.

Please don’t throw anything at me but I am also loving that it gets dark early, everything is just so cozy…now if the weather would stop being all wonky and just get cold already, I would be one happy girl.

  1. Congratulations on the new venture with Lola! I read about it on her blog, and was so happy for you.

How is it that close to Christmas? I have done NOTHING. Well, almost nothing. I think I’ve got a couple of stocking stuffers stashed away somewhere, and one or two presents ordered. But nothing to what I need to do! Anyway, enjoy surrounding yourself with the sights and sounds and books of the season, and have fun!

    • Thank you! I am really excited to work with her.

I know! I already got a part of the teachers gifts and bought one thing for my daughter already now I need to wait till black Friday but on-line to get all the rest of the stuff. I always try to wait for the sales and then after I buy it find everything on sale but with a better price.

  2. Congrats on the business deal with Lola, Michelle! That’s wonderful!! I keep meaning to tell you that I’m happy to put your button on my blog…just let me know where to get it. πŸ™‚ Also happy you’re so happy about the holiday season. I like it too, although maybe not quite as much as you. πŸ˜‰ And I too have been happy with the snow and cooler weather. Maybe not so much the dark though. Have a great week, my dear!

    • Thank you! Actually I just posted a new on in the COYER group because I am switching my Email address if you want to grab it from there or let me know and I can email it to you instead.

I totally blame my mom, I might have to make a post so people understand why I enjoy it so much. Its usually not what everyone thinks. Just such a magical time of year, it’s like disney but with Santa instead of Mickey Mouse πŸ˜‰

  3. Now that’s a Christmas binge lol. I’ve just started to get some gorgeous Christmas picture books for review, should get me in the Christmas spirit. So happy to read you are working with Lola, might have to tweak my budget, I’d love you to design a few things for me. Have a wonderful week and happy reading Michelle πŸ™‚

    • I might be in the Christmas Spirit 365 days lol. I tend to be a bit obsessed.

I would be happy to help you out when you are ready. I am excited to be working with Lola, she is so awesome to work with.

  4. Congrats on getting a contract to work with Lola, Michelle! I can’t wait to see what you both come up with!

Yeah, I won’t throw anything at you, but I actually hate when it’s dark when I leave class πŸ™ It makes me want to curl up and sleep forever. This is something that gets better for me if we have snow! Because the snow reflects the lights, and then it feels cozy instead of just pitch dark πŸ˜‰

Have a fantastic week and happy reading, Michelle. You got some really good-looking books that I hope you’ll enjoy.

    • Thank you! I am very excited and hope this is something that will open doors not only for me but for her too.

That is the only bad part when you work later in the day. I leave work at 2:30 so I get home when its still light out.

  5. Congrats on working with Lola!! I can’t wait to see the work. You are really crazy for Christmas! Looking at all your Christmas books is making me think of what I can read to get in to the spirit. I got to check out Marvel Collector Corps. I’ve seen the Loot crates but Marvel’s does look better. I’ll be fighting with my daughter over this lol. Have a great week Michelle!

    • Thank you! I am pretty excited.
Just a little and they have so many good ones, I recommend The Christmas Street series by Heather Horrocks. I think the first one is free on amazon, they are so cute and so funny.

I am loving the MCC better than Loot crate, it’s a little more money but totally worth it they have much better stuff. I fight with the kids over it all the time but I always win πŸ˜‰

  6. Bea

Look at all those holiday books! Congrats on your new project with Lola, that’s wonderful. I’m not enjoying the early darkness but I am using my candles more. I don’t use them during the summer except when the power goes out but i really like them when it gets cold and dark.

    • I am loving all the christmas books they have out.
Thank you, I love working with Lola and I can’t wait to really get started.

I don’t have a lot of candle at the moment I need a restock lol but I love burning the fall/winters candles they always make the house smell cozy.

  7. Congrats on getting to work for Lola! That is a foot in the door for more work for LB! πŸ™‚ Some times you just need that one break to open more doors!

I really am glad you get all giddy for Christmas, I use too, and I am trying to find some Christmas mojo I even watched some Christmas movies on Hallmark yesterday. πŸ™‚ It’s just some times you realize that there are certain people in your family that kept those things going and when they are not around it sort of drops off.

I do want to throw something at you for liking it getting dark early but I will refrain…lol. I guess someone needs to like this time of year and the time change…lol. I think it makes me more sleepy cause when it’s dark I think time for bed…and then I look at the clock and I am like really it’s only 6 o’clock!

    • Thank you, I am hoping this will be, I love doing design and it would be nice to finally be able to really do it since work tends to not really let me design as much as I would like.

I totally understand and Christmas Movies can get you in the mood maybe just a little πŸ˜‰

That just happened to me, I thought it was 7 and told my husband we really need to get dinner and he said “It’s only 5” oops πŸ™‚

  8. I don’t mind the Christmas stuff starting a little early, after all once Dec hits it seems like it flies by, the big day is over and then we have two months or so of drudgery. πŸ™‚ January and Feb are not fun in Michigan! Unless you ski or something I guess…

Congrats on working with Lola! Good for you guys. And country music- I used to hate it (was a rock guy), but as I get older I have, um, mellowed or something, and I like it now.

    Greg recently posted: Sunday Post
    • I am still a very big rock girl because I like my music with real instruments and not auto tuned. So Country is sort of like rock but without all the screaming πŸ™‚

Yes, Jan and Feb is when the “enough already” starts but December does go way faster than I would like. I am going to see if the family will allow me to at least put of the decoration on the 20th just not the tree. I’ll do that after Thanksgiving.

  9. If I had some money I would totally hire you to do everything for my blog. I LOVE my MPM meme, but it makes me want you to redo everything else for me. LOL Some day, some day…

Hmmm…I sense a theme in your book s. *puts finger to chin, looks thoughtful (or constipated)* Is it…Christmas? πŸ˜€

  10. You’re insane wishing for colder weather! But I also like it getting dark earlier – or I should say – getting light earlier. It’s so nice to have some sun when I go to work in the morning. I’m so happy for you & Lola both – you’re going to be a fantastic team, I’m sure! Happy reading πŸ™‚

  11. Ofcourse it’s okay to share ;). I also shared it on my blog, I am really excited about having you for my banner maker now and I can’t wait to see your first banner! I think it’s going to be an awesome change for my company and it’s nice to have a banner maker who’s also part of the book blogging community. I hope some authors will sign-up for the teasers soon! And thanks for saying those nice things about Lola’s Blog Tours! And thanks for adding my banner to your sidebar!

Christmas sure seems close, my boyfriend and I are planning to get the christmas tree from storage soon. I already bought christmas cards for the recipe exchange and I also bought a card for my mom as she likes surprises like that. Oh and I have a idea for a guest post for your blog for your book and christmas post series. I’ll have to write that soon, it will be similiar to the monster and book one right?

You got some nice christmas reads lined up. I just got my second christmas book for review this week and looking forward to reading it. They really help get into the spirit for christmas. That subscription box you got looks pretty awesome! I hope you have a great week!

    • I am very excited to do it for you. I think this will be a good step for Limabean Designs.

My family wont let me set anything up until after Thanksgiving, they are no fun! πŸ˜‰
That is a good idea to put the recipe in a Christmas card! I might steal that, if that is ok πŸ™‚
Yes it is just like the monster and book I just need it by Dec 1st.

With next week being the Hohoho I needed to get a few more quick ones so I can read a bunch. I need to set them up for review in December also.

  12. Yes! Another person who likes it getting dark early! I wouldn’t want it to get dark at 5 all year but a little while to me is kind of nice and cozy. That’s awesome about Lola and I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I’m not quite ready for Christmas stuff yet though I am looking forward to it. I am looking forward to looking for Christmas gifts! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

I am very excited to work with her, it is a big step for my design business, I hope its the start of great things.
I blame my mom for making christmas so amazing for me as a kid and I just can’t get enough of all the magic that comes with it. I love the kids on christmas morning it is what really makes christmas, for me, even better!

  13. Ooh nice! Holiday reads! I don\\\’t think I\\\’ve ever read a book centered around the holidays. Except for 1 or 2 anthologies, so I guess that sorta counts! LOL! Happy Reading!
