My life has had several on-going love affairs that shape much of what I write, the American West, Victorian England, cowboys, a passion for pirates, Greek Gods, and Ancient Egypt. The other endless love affair in my life is Italia and all its magic, beauty, and dazzling culture. That passion spills into all aspects of my life.

Bella Signorina
by Denyse Bridger
ebook, second, 29 pages
Published June 27th 2013 by Eirelander Publishing

Synopsis:

Set in Rome, Bella Signorina is a sweet, romantic story of two people who meet in a trendy caffè, and through the magic of dance and music discover they have many things in common. Bianca comes to Caffè Rosati every week, and for many weeks she’s been watching a special man, a handsome, charming stranger who dances, flirts, and leaves alone each week. Bianca is a woman who enjoys her freedom, and has been hurt before, so she’s not anxious to fall in love again. Something about the enigmatic Stefano has captivated her heart, though, and she is drawn to him in spite of herself. When she finally gathers her courage to approach him, and ask him to dance, little does she know that her entire world is about to change

Stefano Esposito is a man who’s past relationships have not left him much in the way of ideals about women. Many have claimed to love him, none have understood him. Stefano is a rare breed in today’s world of fast-paced life and love. He is a gentleman, a man who many consider a little out of step with the times. For Stefano, falling in love is the completion of a soul, not the consummation of a sexual itch. He wants the woman in his life to respect, understand, and adore him, as he will her. When he meets Bianca, he wonders if he’s finally found the one he’s waited a lifetime for? She understands his internal conflicts, his desires, and his dreams, after only hours together.

When their attraction to each other flares too quickly and too intently, Stefano pulls back. Confused and uncertain, Bianca flees his beautiful home and business, and goes back to her busy life. But, once the dance has begun, is there a way to go back to what you knew before, or is it just a matter of time before the music lures you back to your dreams and, perhaps, makes them reality?

I was so happy to be able to chat with Denyse and ask a few really fun questions

Hi, Denyse Welcome to my blog!!!

What’s something that amazes you?
The power of nature. We take a lot of it for granted, but when you are watching a powerful storm grow, or seeing the dazzling beauty of a sunset, things like that, you know you are witnessing the most amazing power on this planet.

When do you find yourself singing?
Never, I consider it a public service not to inflict that sort of horror on the general public.

What movie deserves a sequel?
Van Helsing! I know it’s a movie that got very mixed reviews, but I loved it and went to see it more than once in the theatre. The ending promised so many things, and Hugh Jackman’s Gabriel Van Helsing was so filled with mysteries waiting to be revealed! Another one like that was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen!

If you could travel in time, were would you go?
I’d be so torn. Part of me would love to go back to the Old West, I’ve been in love with cowboys and everything about the West since I was a kid. The other era I love is the same time in calendar years, but a whole different type of feel, and that would be Victorian England. There’s something really intriguing about the dualities of society in that era, so much going on in the world, and so much change. Yet society was outwardly very contained and proper.

It’s a rainy Sunday afternoon, What movie would you want to see on TV?
Gone With The Wind – I love it, and it’s a perfect way to spend an afternoon with a glass of wine and a big bowl of popcorn!

If you went to a Psychiatrist, what would he/she say you suffer from?
Multiple personality disorder, I’m sure. All those voices in my head, you know… *lol*

Who is the most famous person you ever met?
Keifer Sutherland, quite literally ran into him on the street one afternoon in Halifax. He was on his way to the theatre for rehearsals. He was in town to do the 25th Anniversary season at Neptune Theatre, and I wasn’t paying attention, ran into him, and apologized. We spoke for a few minutes, laughed a little, and it wasn’t until I walked away that I realized why he was so familiar and figured out who he was!

What is your favorite snack food?
Popcorn! I love the stuff!!

What is the scariest scene you remember from a movie as a kid?
Whatever Happened To Baby Jane–the one with Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. My God, that entire movie freaked me out, but the scene where Bette Davis served a wheelchair bound Crawford rats for dinner–that made my blood run cold and it still does. Davis looks so creepy in the whole movie, too.

What season do you prefer? Why?
Autumn is my season, the heat of summer is over, and I hate the heat here because on the coast we get so much humidity. The colours are just spectacular, and the air is cool and fresh. I just feel alive and happy in the Autumn more than any other time of year. I love Winter, too.

Name I book you suggest everyone must read? (Not including yours)
That’s a tough one, but I think Conversations With God is something that would help a lot of people learn things about themselves and see life in a much different way. John Donahue’s Anam Cara is a superb book, too. In novels, my favourite remains Gone With The Wind, and a close second would be Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories. They’re so well crafted, you learn whether you realize it or not at the time, and I discovered through reading the stories year ago, my attention to detail improved dramatically without my even being aware of it until much later.

  1. Another great interview, Denyse! Looks like this book has it all-what could be better than a sweet and steamy love story set in romantic Rome? You are such an accomplished author. I’ve enjoyed getting to “know” you and now I know even more!
