Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itβs a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On the Blog, Books & Real Life:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a wonderful new years eve. Ours was quiet at home just hanging out. I am hoping this year is nicer on our celebrities because WOW the last week really broke my heart.
It was crazy…and fun however on the 19th I ended up in the hospital from pulling a muscle in my neck and back. The pain was so intense. I was out of work for two days and completely miserable. By Friday I had to deal with the pain and get ready for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The pain has finally gone away but I am still a little worried I will pull it again. It was not a fun pain at all.
I am happy to report that Santa came and left a shit load of toys I now have to put away π but I am ok with that since I need to redo some rooms anyway. The WiFi had to be upgraded because of all the NEW electronics in the house. Now everything runs faster and better. It was a great two weeks, I really enjoyed it but it was CRAZY!
The picture on the top left is Julia’s gifts, top right is The Animals, and the bottom Ryan. They were both every happy with everything they got. It was awesome to see those smiles.
I am happy to have all that over and back to our regular schedules, I am looking forward to 2017. I spend a lot of the day Friday brainstorming the new year and getting those ideas in order. I made my list of challenges and hope to do a lot of reading this year. I am also hoping that the blog will be a lot more productive and filled with lots of reviews and fun posts. This might not happen until the end of this month but I am determined to make it happen.
BTW…I am 41 DAYS, SMOKE FREE!!!! *throws confetti*Β

Happy New Year! But oh no, I’m sorry about the pulled muscle :-/ It sounds like you had a great Christmas though, and it sure does look like Santa was good to your family! The pictures are adorable π And major congrats on 41 days smoke free!
The pain wasn’t fun but Christmas was. I really think the kids had a great time and I did too π
Thank you! I am really proud of myself for getting this far! π
Happy New Year Michelle! It’s good to hear you are feeling better. I pulled a muscle in my back a couple years ago so I understand your pain. Your kids look adorable opening their presents. Mine are teenagers now so they prefer cash or gift cards but we did surprise them with a PlayStation. It feels good to be able to still make them excited at Christmas lol. I hope you enjoy The Creeping Shadow, I loved it! Have a great week!
The pain was so not fun. I am hoping to never do that again π The kids really enjoyed it. I hope they get excited for christmas even as teens, I know I used to get excited all the time. Playstation is awesome! I wish someone surprised me with one lol
I can’t wait to read it but it will have to be after COYER since I didn’t get it until after the start day!
Aww that’s so cute and congrats on being smoke free! Happy new year and enjoy King, I loved it! π
Thanks Kei! I am enjoying king so far π
Wow…Santa left A LOT of presents! But did he leave you anything exciting?
I’m also super excited to take part in your 2017 #BookishResolutions !? I will get my blog whipped into shape π
Family gave me Amazon gift cards but Santa didn’t leave me anything. It’s all about the kids π
Glad you are joining us! It really can be very helpful! Good luck with your goals.
Sounds like it was a fun Christmas, I am glad you pain has gone away and congrats on being smoke free for 41 days!!!! Happy reading!
Happy New Year!

Christmas was a lot of fun! Thanks Stormi!!!
Looks like the kids had a great Christmas! The smiles are always worth all the hard work that goes into the holidays. π
I hope you have an amazing week! Happy New Year!
I love their faces Christmas morning. Just not at 2am when my son was up excited to start opening gift. Had to send him back to bed lol.
Sorry you’ve been hurt. Hope all is now well. Happy New Year!
I am 100% again! Thank you! π
Oh gosh I am so sorry to hear about your neck!! Last week my husband tore his tricep so I know the kind of pain you are talking about! He was miserable!
The kids and animals looked like they had a wonderful christmas!! So exciting. Congrats on being smoke free for 41 days π
Happy New Year!
Yes it was no fun, It was a Muscle Strain and was inflamed. If I didn’t move I was fine, I spent a lot of time laying on the floor in one position for hours. So glad that is over. lol
They did have a great christmas it was so fun to watch them open the gifts. The dog was so excited every time I opened one of his gifts.
Thank you, I am very happy to be smoke free again!
Happy New Year, Michelle!
I’m glad your shoulder and back are doing better. It sucks to be in pain!

I will say that was not fun and with everything I had to do it put me in a really weird limbo mood. π
Thank you! I am super proud of myself! I am determined to keep going and get back to two years smoke free again and a smoke free forever! π

Thank you! I am really looking forward to King, I am enjoying it so far π
I had muscle spasms in my back and thought the worst things about what it could be before I went to the doctor and found out. I feel your pain. Glad to hear you are doing better. Looks like fun times for the holidays. Happy New year!
I never had pain like that. It would start in my neck and explode into my back. Hope that doesn’t happen again! π
We did have fun!
Happy New Year!! I had a quiet one this year and that was fine. Glad you had a good Christmas, sorry to hear about the pulled muscle. Yikes. Congrats too on being smoke free!
Have a great first week of 2017. π
Thanks Greg! The pulled muscle I don’t recommend that was not fun π it was nice just us celebrating the new year. I’m looking forward to sleeping in π
