I talked about my friends and Chicago, plus a little about my day to day, now I want to talk about BEA and the Book I was able to get. The event is HUGE, lots of publishers and lots of awesome authors to chat with. Besides meeting bloggers from all over and getting to see them face to face it was a fun event. It was very exhausting because even just walking around can hurt your feet and your back if you are carrying the books around. Someone need to invent lighter books. 😉
I was honored to receive all the books I had and only really picked up ones that I thought I would read since I needed to fit them in my suitcase to get home. I did have some publishers that pushed a book or just handed them to me and that was cool, that might have been a book I never would have thought of reading if it wasn’t given to me. I did get at least 2 books that are sequels, I tried not to grab any of those but I came home with only two so maybe my COYER friends would give them a good home if they read the first one or have wanted to read the series.
I really wanted to show you every book I got but I thought I would only highlight a few and give you the link to my BEA2016 Shelf on goodreads so you can check them all out but before I do that let’s talk books.
I came home with about 58 books and that is pretty good, I am happy to say most of them are ones I plan to read and have already started reading one since I just couldn’t wait. You can find all my books on the BEA 2016 Shelf on Goodreads but I wanted to tell you about a few of them that I was very excited to get.
The event itself is really awesome, I sort of wish I wasn’t sure shy otherwise I would have talked myself up more but I just would roam around and observe, it’s what I do best. I had so much fun looking at everything and even watching the people interact. Made me want to be in the book industry so bad, but for now I will just be a happy book blogger. The set up was similar to NY but the autograph area was a lot more organized and I loved that a lot of the signings was in that area and not at the booths. I did miss one book signing but I received the book anyway so I am ok not having it signed. Replica by Lauren Oliver, I wasn’t aware she was going to be there so I missed her however I meet her last year for a signing of another one of her books this book however I was really excited about getting since it’s a very different way to read and I watched an interview of her explaining the book. It made me more excited to read it. I was able to grab a book that I was denied for on Edelweiss and I almost squealed with delight when the lady at the booth slipped it to me. Beauty and the Clockwork Beast has a synopsis that gives me the chills and I can’t wait to read it. I was over the moon happy that she gave me one, wish I could have meet the author but I don’t think she was going to be at BEA. Two other books that I want to mention was a book that I didn’t even know existed until I got to BEA. Stalking Jack the Ripper because I have an unhealthy obsession with Jack and because I needed a book about him. I already read this book. Plus I got And the Trees Crept In because OMG the synopsis and the idea that this book is super creep. Is it ok to read all the books at the same time. 😉
I was going to list all my books and give you details on each one but instead I plan to spotlight the awesome books I received, not all of them, just a few. You can still check out the books I got from my goodreads shelf. My Profile is open so you should be able to see the books. In the next week or two I will start rolling out the BEA Spotlight books and you will get a closer look at some of the books I am super excited about.
Once again I am honored to have received the books I did and I will cherish them all, if for some reason I DNF a book or the book just isn’t for me I will pass it along to someone else that I know will love the book just as much as me.
Have a great day and Happy Reading!

I’m glad you had such a good time! The books you were able to pick up look great! I hope they are all great reads. 🙂
The McCormick Center is huge and I enjoyed the ALA Mid-Winter they had in 2015. I too really enjoy Jack the Ripper stories. Glad to find someone else who enjoys them as well. I’m hoping to get my hands on the same book at ALA. Enjoy your haul!
Heartless!!!! You lucky, lucky duck. I hope you love everything! 😀
I actually was very luck to get it, if that guy didn’t give me the ticket I would have never gotten it. I am hoping it’s good!
I saw a few books in your pics that in envious of, Michelle. 😉 But overall i think we all did very well with our book hauls. And I’m dying to read Stalking Jack the Ripper. I look forward to seeing what you think of it. I wish I’d been more able to talk myself up as well and hit more signings. But i had a blast and and enjoyed meeting YOU!
We really did, Stalking Jack was fantastic! I can’t wait to get the next one but OMG it was such a great book. I loved meeting you too! I hope to do it again soon!
I’m not a fan of crowds or waiting in lines, but I will brave the BEA one of these years. You know, when I actually have money to travel. lol Lovely lovely Stack O’Books!
Me either but this was fun. Got to talk to a few people and just being there is amazing! You will have to come to one in NY. You can drive up and stay with me!
Yeah, the way to go is definitely a link to a specific Goodreads shelf, Michelle 😉 I did the same thing, mostly because I was far too lazy to actually chat about each and every book I received. They will all (eventually) be reviewed on my blog, though 😀
I am still so very happy I got to meet you in Chicago, and I miss your face. A lot! *hugs*
I really wanted to post all the books but just to many and yes, very lazy lol.
I miss your face too!!! I keep reading everything in your voice 🙂
I do the same thing now – I can hear everyone’s voice and accent when I read their blogs now 😀
