Real life:
This week was one of those weeks that isn’t busy but for some reason it feels super busy. I did a lot of stuff but have nothing to show for it. ๐
We celebrated my sons 14th Birthday on Saturday. This time instead of a Shitty Breakfast, we had a yummy dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Since my son wasn’t sure what he wanted for his birthday we walked around the mall for a bit for him to pick out a few things.
Today we celebrate my sister’s 50th Birthday with some family and friends. After this I am not celebrating anyone birthday until mine in May. I am all birthdayed out. Birthdayed is totally a word.
This week is Valentines day, my husband and I don’t really celebrate it so I will make a nice dinner for the family. Most likely it will be tacos because apparently I was told I haven’t made them in FOREVER which I don’t believe that is true since FOREVER is a long time, I think it’s been about a few months but not FOREVER!
Blogging & Books:
I totally went to Barnes & Nobles twice this week. Last week for the Super Bowl, I won the pool, like I WON. I had 3 & 3 which made me win the 3rd quarter, Final and the reverse. It was a pretty nice chunk of change. So I put most of it in the bank for our trip to Florida and used some of it for books. I stopped by B&N to see if I could find anything for my son for his birthday and grabbed A curse so dark and lonely since it is one of my most wanted books this year. I also grabbed the Last Magician since its been something that was on my TBR for a while.
I have been wanting to try a Brandon Sandersons books for a while. I read the Wheel of Time series but never finished it so I never got the chance to read the books he wrote after Robert Jordan died. So I had seen Steelheart and Mistborn and was planning to grab them. I realized the mall we were going to had a B&N so I figured I would get them while I was there since it might be my son’s birthday but I did also all the work that day and I did make him for 9 month so I believe I deserved something. (That’s my story and I am sticking to it) I didn’t see Mistborn at the store so I walked over to YA Fantasy to find a most anticipated book that I forget was release, I didn’t ever hesitate picking it up. Seriously, the cover of Crown of Feathers is GORGEOUS in person. I featured it on one of my WOW posts and I am so excited to have it in my hands. I was also able to find Steelheart in the YA section so I grabbed that one too.
It was a fun-filled weekend of books! ๐
I blogged a little but not as much as I was hoping to. I have one post I want to write but I am not sure I will have time. This week will be a better week/weekend for blogging. ๐
What I am watching:
I haven’t really been watching much this week, I did have Ghost Adventures on in the background a few times but they annoy the heck out of me. I watch it I think to just piss myself off. ๐ I still can’t seem to find the time to watch anything new but this weekend coming up we have no plans and I have off on Monday so I hope to get at least one day to binge something.
What I am playing:
Still currently obsessed with Terraria but might switch over to play some Star Stable since they will be releasing a new horse this week and I want it. ๐ I can’t get enough of the horses in that game, it is a great stress reliever to just run the horse through all the towns and forest. I really can’t get enough of that game.

I hope Ryan had a lovely birthday. you had a busy week and wahoo on the win! Good for you for treating yourself a little but also tucking some away for vacation. I am finally making the rounds and it feels good. Have a lovely weekend!
Happy birthday to Ryan and I hope you enjoyed your sister’s birthday celebration as well. I understand being birthdayed (totally stealing that word!) out. I’m like that in the fall. Hubs’ birthday and my son’s are 10 days apart and then my younger daughter’s is a month and a half from there. Lots of cake! Which I don’t need! LOL We don’t celebrate V-Day either unless you count getting a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s as celebrating. This year, my kids are doing things with their significant others – Lego Movie and a concert! I’m envious of your trips to B&N, I admit. I’d like to go spend some loot. ๐ And you go some gorgeous books!
Anyway, I hope your week is going well so far! Miss you, girlie!! {{{big hugs}}}
Happy birthday to your son and sister! OMG, I agree with you about Ghost Adventures. My mom loves that show and watches it constantly. I hate how they hear something and then immediately start screaming. How are they supposed to listen when everybody is yelling?!
Thank you!
They drive me crazy! Hate when they yell when they should be quiet!
I’m loving a Curse So Dark and Lonely.
Yeay for extra holiday funds! That must’ve been a nice surprise.
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s either… But I’m thinking Tacos may be on the menu as I haven’t had them in forever and after reading this post all I want to eat is tacos!
I have heard such great things about the book, I canโt wait to read it. The money was nice and I couldnโt believe I actually won!
Tacos are very good, I prefer to make them over getting them out. My family will be very happy ๐ lol
Happy Birthday to your son and your sister! One of my daughter’s and my mom are May babies. I’m an April baby. And honestly, I agree you did carry him for 9 months so you deserve something too! That’s going to be my story in May and September (I have two September babies and my youngest gave me hell so I’m giving myself a huge reward lol). If you have a chance, I’ve only read one book by Sanderson and it was the Rithmatist and it is so so so so so good. I highly recommend.
We totally deserve something for that. I also get a gift in November that is my daughterโs month.
Thank you for the recommendation!!! I will check that one out ๐
Wow, so many great books! I hope you love them.
Thanks Anne!
“I did a lot of stuff but have nothing to show for it.” Oh, boy, can I relate!
Happy birthday to your son, and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with your family. Congratulations on winning the football pool. I love the books you picked out! I mean, I love the look of them; I haven’t read any of them, but I’ve started A Curse So Dark and Lonely. Have a great week, and enjoy reading those new books!
I’m a May baby, too. ๐
My husband and I share the month of may. The Best people are born in May! ๐
Happy birthday to your son! And to your sister. I haven’t been to The Rainforest Cafรฉ in awhile but it’s always fun. I love looking around even more than the food I think! That’s great about winning the Super Bowl pool and I’m glad you didn’t save all the money. A trip to Barnes & Noble definitely sounds in order. I hate those weeks that feel so busy but there’s nothing I can check off as having done. Hope this week is a bit calmer!
The one we go to is small but still have lots of animals just not big one. I think they have one elephant, otherwise it’s a lot of monkeys and birds but it’s still a lot of fun.
If my family let me I would have roamed around B&N all day. I just love it in there.
Happy birthday to your son! And yay no shitty breakfasts haha! I totally need a Tornaaaado since I haven’t had one in what feels like eons.
I looked up Terraria after I think you mentioned it last week (?) and that looks pretty dang fun- I may be trying that at some point.
Yes the dinner was less shitty! Lol
I seriously can’t even explain how fun terraria is. I can’t get enough of it. ๐
Happy Birthday to Ryan! And your sister.
I swear, all my weeks are busy with nothing to show for it. Gah! Except for this week. I got stuff burned, stuff cleaned, and a “new” car! Woot! I don’t have a lot planned for this coming week, so maybe I can knock out some of that project we were talking about. *wink wink*
I hope you have a fantastic fruitful week, Michelle! XOXO
Go you on the football pool win! I haven’t done a pool in a long time. ๐
Is that when you were burning bodies? That probably relieves a lot of stress ๐
Yes! Let me know what you need from me. ๐ I have to get my ass moving on some projects I want to do also.
My work has a football pool every year, I was just really luck!
Congrats on your win! And nice book haul!! Enjoy!
Thank you! I am so excited about all the books! ๐
You def deserve some books mama ๐ Enjoy your weekend and your new reads!
I really think I did! Lol
I like the way you think. ๐ Way to go on the football pool and scoring some lovelies on your B&N run. We’ve had a week of the flu returning, but the visitation is on others and not me. Not sure what’s worse…
I get the its been forever, too. Someone’s got memory loss and I’m pretty sure it isn’t me. But, tacos are yum. Enjoy!
Have a great week, Michelle!
Thanks Sophia, I totally needed those new books and can’t wait to read them.
Sorry you all had the flu or at least the people in your house.
Tacos are very yummy, my husband and daughter always fight over who will eat the most. ๐ lol
I totally think you deserved two trips to B&N for giving birth ๐ That’s definitely hard work – it’s not called labor for nothing, right?
I’m glad you had a great birthday dinner, and I hope your sister’s b-day today is going to be fun as well ๐
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading, Michelle! xoxo I miss your face SO much!
EXACTLY!!! This is why we are friends! <3
He had the best day ever, according to him. lol I am looking forward to my sisters the place we are going has very yummy food, it's like a hidden treasure! ๐
