A boring week….Thank goodness! ~ WIR & SP

Off the Blog:

The most exciting thing that happened this week was my son because assistant Middle School Representative. He helps the Representative…represent. Honestly, I have no idea what he does but he was so happy and I was so happy for him.

The weather started warm and ending freezing and I loved every minute of it. Now if it would just snow I would be over the moon excited. I sat with the window open and enjoyed the freezing breeze that was coming into the window. The family thought I was nuts but I was very happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

We got crafty this week. My daughter has been bugging me about going to Michaels or AC Moore but never really explained what I was going for. So this weekend I decided I would take her. She wanted clay to make clay charms and after some research I realized she could do really good with it. If she sticks with it and gets better, I told her we can open a Etsy show so she can sell them. She has a lot of work to do but I think she will do amazing, just need to work on her self esteem and confidence. I also got myself some pretty yarn and plan to start crocheting a blanket because I really do miss crocheting. The yarn is a pretty pink, brown and beige, it reminds me of a cupcake. I could make a very pretty blanket with it. I am actually excited and am ready to just get back to relaxing instead of being constantly moving or working.

Blogging News and Updates:

I am still slightly ahead and have some stuff to do this week but I had the kids home with me so it was hard on Friday to get stuff done. I should be good this week to get some design and blogging stuff complete. I feel like I am in a good place, now if I can just get my reading in order that would be awesome.

I am hoping to do some blogging today but I have a cheerleading dance to go to so I wont be around until later to actually do any blogging or designing, I do hope I can read while I am there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. It’s the little things, right? Boring weeks are nice and having happy kids?? Excellent!! I’m happy that both your kiddos are doing something they enjoy. And you too!! I was in Texas with my mom and grandma recently and gave my mom a knitting lesson. I’m now working on a shawl for myself because I realized how much I miss knitting. :)I hope you get some things off your to do list but also have a nice, chillax week, Michelle!! {{{hugs}}}

  2. People pay good money for handmade clay charms of their favorite characters and fan clubs ๐Ÿ˜€ Congrats to your son and your daughter! I love crafty things but confess I’ve fallen away from it here lately. Maybe the holidays will inspire me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I think I’m with your family on this one, Michelle. Snow *brrrr* pretty to look at but I’m an island girl and the cold… news of your new crochet project reminded me of a new crochet project I started before a friend’s wedding thinking to make her a present of a custom-made blanket…ha…that friend is now divorced and that project has been stalled since before the wedding. Hopefully you’ll do better than I did.

  4. That sounds great for your son! I bet he was so excited. The assistant rep! What are clay charms? This sounds very interesting. I think that would be great to let Julia open an Etsy shop if she starts crafting them really well. I hope you have a great week! I’m trying to stay ahead, too.

    • If you go on Etsy or Pinterest you can look them up. They are so cute. Some are characters or animals and they are small. Can me put on bracelets or necklace. They can even just be collectable. She made a hot dog that was really cute. I think with the right tools and an open mind she will do really good with it. I posted a few on Instagram but need to post the hot dog it’s my favorite. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I need to get back to crocheting too, it’s been a few years! I have all the yarn to make a sweater, started, never finished, then inherited all my Mom’s yarn when she couldn’t crochet anymore from tendonitis, and I’ve also enjoyed thread crochet too, because doilies and bookmarks, yeah! But I haven’t done it in a long time!

I hear ya on boring weeks, they are the best! lol! I hope you enjoy Warcross!

  6. So happy Ryan was picked to Represent even if you’re not sure what it is he will be doing…lol. I hope Julia makes some real pretty charms! I always wanted to mess around with clay and see if I could make something. It always looked fun.

Have a great week and happy reading!!!

    • Thank you! She is working on it. I gave her a few months to see if she really likes it and then maybe Santa will being her a bunch more.
I LOVE working with clay, I actually make a Nativity with it but never finished. My mom still has it. I wish I would have kept up with it but I was young and wanted a boy friend more than working with clay. I was a stupid kid! ๐Ÿ˜‰ lol

    • Thank you!
I used to do crafts all the time and would go to craft shows and sell my stuff. I actually really miss doing that. I am hoping she is serious about it, even if she does it just for her and gives stuff to her friends it would be something fun for her to do.
It wont be cold for long. I just enjoy it more than the hot.

  7. Your family thought your were nuts because you are. Love you just the same ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m super excited for Julia – finding a craft like that is always so much fun. Even if she never starts selling, just making and gifting will be so great for her.

Okay at least one of us always seems to be ahead on the blog. right now it’s your time, hopefully I’ll get there before you fall behind like I am again lol! Have a great week – so jealous that I didn’t have your boring week! I need a boring week! Miss you!

    • I think I just like the change in weather, like we did hot and now I want cold. My family are a bunch of moaners it wasn’t that cold!!!!

I am hoping she really wants to do it. She asked Santa to bring her more of a series set up. I am sure Santa is working on it.

We might have a few days with no posts but so far I am good with getting posts done and filled in! ๐Ÿ™‚ We are a good balance.

  8. Ha ha bring on the cold wind! We got a little sleet this morning, so how about that? It’s now raining and chilly here too. Congrats on your son getting Representative assistant! How exciting for him.

I have to get my reading on track too, it has faltered…

Hope you love Warcross!! I thought it was great.

    • NJ is suppose to get a mix tonight but I am not sure it’s in my area. I am looking forward to the change. I love the 4 seasons. I think that is really what it comes down to. I love the changes in weather and that it’s not just one way all the time. I would have a hard time moving if I had to and would need to go some place that still experienced all 4 seasons.

We need a good book to help get us motivated to read. I am hoping Warcross will be the book!
