My Review:

I am not sure how to write this review without spoilers but I am going to try. I loved the synopsis of this book and the cover looks so interesting I couldn’t wait to see how this book played out. It has a bit of a creepy factor, it sounded so good. Ella is a doll and lives with the professor who created her. Ella doesn’t remember anything from her past life only that she is a doll. The Professor decides to make her a friend Lisa but Lisa remembers everything and is determined to stop whatever the professor is doing. Ella is starting to get confused but she meets the professors Granddaughter Gabby who is sick and the two become friends. Gabby is trying to help Ella but things get strange and secrets get revealed.

Let me start by saying I adored Ella, she is a super cute ballerina and I felt bad for her being trapped in the attic since the Professor won’t let her out. Lisa was annoying and rather creepy. I thought the secrets that they were keeping from Ella was way to drawn out. I also really enjoyed about 60% of this book. The beginning was really good and I was looking forward to a creepy reveal but that is not what I got. Once Ella’s secret is revealed I went from thinking she was adorable to a self centered obnoxious “doll” after it’s revealed. I sort of didn’t like Ella anymore and once the story continues I kind of really didn’t care because now I actually know what kind of person she is. I was a bit disappointed, I am not really sure what I was hoping for but by this point I felt bad for the professor and stopped thinking he was a complete nut job.

I gave this book 3 stars, I liked the beginning story but it sort of just fell flat for me. I was almost heartbroken that Ella really wasn’t who I thought she was and by the end I really wasn’t caring much about her anymore. This appears to be a series but I am not sure I will be picking up the next one but I might. I would give this a try and it does have some pretty good reviews, just because it didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t for you.

    • I almost want someone else to read it so I can talk about the end and see if anyone else felt the same way. I just went from loving Ella to actually hating her. I should have added that I wanted more of a world build also because the outside world seemed to have some interesting things going on.
