Feeling bloggy, working on the visits and vacation soon ~ WIR & SP

Posted July 30, 2017 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 18 Comments

So today would be the monthly recap for the month of July but I decided I don’t want to do that because who really cares, honestly, lol. If you follow my Sunday Posts then you know what has been going on, I don’t think I need to repeat it again! However, the book report is this week, that post will be a monthly thing because of all the pretty covers.

Β My vacation starts on August 3rd so I wont have a Sunday Post next week. I will be back on the 13th with a Sunday Post. We decided not to go anyplace and just plan to do some day trips which should be fun, so I will be around and the blog will, (obviously now that Berls is here) have posts. I will comment when I can plus I have a giveaway planned for the 9th. I hope you will stop by, I will be giving away 2 proper romance novels. I am loving proper romance at the moment and these are good ones! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to share them and be able to give them away.

The weather in the morning has been GORGEOUS! About 68 every morning with a light cool breeze. I am loving it and it makes me think of Pumpkins, Apple Cider and cozy nights. I can’t wait for the fall.

I got a lot of blogging stuff done the last two days and I am still in a super bloggy mood, now just need to get back to visiting you all. Summer is hard for me when I am not home on the weekends, this weekend we are home so I should be able to get enough done that during the week I can come back to visiting, however….

My daughter and I have been playing an on-line game called Star Stable. You can play for free or with a membership, you get your own horse and you ride around Jorvik not sure if that is a real place or fiction but either way it’s a huge area. You go on quests and apparently on Friday and Saturday nights they have a dance party. My name in the game is Michelle Autumnfall and my horse is Appleghost (do you see a pattern with my name and horses name?). We are both in the process of trying to get new horses. The game is a lot of fun and as far as I can tell a safe space to play. It x’s out words that they find inappropriate and wont allow numbers. They also do NOT tolerate bullying, which I like. My daughter sent me a message and I wrote back that I loved her and it told me the content was deemed inappropriate. So I don’t mind her playing, however, I still make sure she plays safely because you honestly never know who you are talking to.

We do have fun and I love playing games with her. I hope to be able to play this one with her for a while before she gets too old to play with her mom. Even if she doesn’t play, I might play without her. I love my horse! πŸ™‚ If you decided to try out the game let me know and I can send you our server name so you can join us on the adventure! πŸ™‚

Last Week on the Blog:

What you might see this week:

  • Currently I’m (maybe)
  • #Bingewatchers
  • Review Curiouser & Curiouser by Melanie Karsak
  • Monthly Book Report
  • My TBR List, lets vote!

Books read & currently reading:

New on the Bookshelf/Kindle:

Still slumping, not as bad, but hold on to your hats! I might have went a little crazy! πŸ™‚

The purchased books I did for a reason, My son has book 1, 2 and 4 of the Doom series and I thought it would be fun to read and then the suggestions on Amazon were the Haunted Library and Eerie Elementary so I grabbed those too. These are great series for my daughter to read since she is struggling with her reading, plus they might be my next picks for My TBR List to get me out of this slump! πŸ™‚

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

  1. Have a great vacation! I like staycations, it’s nice to go somewhere for the day and come home to my own bed lol. And I LOVE mornings like that- cool and peaceful. I’m looking forward to the crisp air of fall also.

Glad you found a good game too! Nice that they make it safe for kids.

The Notebook of Doom looks fun. πŸ™‚

  2. I think it is great you and your daughter are able to play a game together like that. I like all the new additions. I am curious to see what you think of Hunting Prince Dracula, I love that cover too. Have a great week.

  3. First, that is sooooo cool you found a game to play online with your daughter and it’s safe!!!!! It is really getting scary out there in the internet!!
Second, I think I must check out those Haunted Library and Eerie Elementary books! I might just wait for the Scholastic flyer (cheap $$$) but they look totally boy-proof!!!!! πŸ™‚ Thanks!!!

    Have a fabulous Stay-cation!!!!

    • It’s safe enough that I don’t worry if she plays by herself without me. As long as she avoids the chat sections of the game she is fine. Only thing I noticed is some girls aren’t very nice but I think that is a girl thing lol

I need to rid myself of this slump and these look so cute and perfect for my daughter so I figured why not. Amazon had them for cheap and I love Scholastic, I usually do all my spending during the school year to help out the teachers.

  4. I hope you’ll have a fun vacation :). We had a lot of windy weather and rain here this weeks and at times it feels more like autumn than summer, I am looking forward to autumn!

That’s great you’ve been in a bloggy mood. That sounds like a fun game to play with your daughter, glad to hear you’ve been enjoying it.
I’ve been gaming a bit more regularly lately and it’s fun :). I am mostly playing Stardew Valley lately, I have a horse in that game ;).

Your new books look fun, I hope they are all good ones. Have a great week!

    • I do hope it warms up a little around here so the kids can go to the waterpark otherwise we might have to change our plans

The game is really fun, the chats can be annoying but her and I are really only there to play together and go on quests. Plus ride horses is so much fun. She now want to ride one in real life so I need to find a stable around here to take her riding.

I played Stardew Valley the other day, I am trying to find a day to play games or at least some time. Adulting is stupid and I just want to read and play video games πŸ˜‰
