I had an idea ~ My Week In READ-view 11/22/14

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

So I sent Berls @ Fantasy is more fun a text and stated “I have an idea” always a dangerous thing coming from either of us. So now on December 1st look for the sign ups for a NEW challenge that will be a year long and a little strict but should be fun! We also band from uttering those words “I have an idea” to each other until Jan.

2015HWLogo

Also last week I mentioned about something else we came up with but once we went over the details to what we wanted to do we realized it might not be something everyone would want to do. I was looking for a way to recap the year and introduce new stuff about the blog so instead of doing it for one day (Berls must have read my mind) we will do it in 12 days. So starting Dec 22 to Jan 2 we are going to close out the year and tell you what is to come on my blog in 2015. You are more than welcome to join us and if you want to use the Logo please feel free to take it. We would love to have you join us or even just stopping by is awesome too ๐Ÿ™‚ (if you would rather the actually logo, send me an email and I will be happy to send it over)

Outwithold

This week was REALLY Slow I have nothing of interest to report and I am super excited to be putting up my decorations next week as well as the return of our Elf on the Shelf, Elfie Pickle, the kids are so excited and I always have so much fun, hiding finding him in the morning ๐Ÿ˜‰ This weekend went by so fast and I had so much to do but got nothing done. Spent most of the day Saturday getting my little one glasses, we kind of knew she needed them but she tends to want to be like her brother so we weren’t sure if she was fibbing or telling the truth. We started noticing recently that she might not be able to see far away and the school confirmed it before we had a chance to this week which was a good thing and we took a trip to Lens Crafters to get her glasses. She LOVES them. I have pictures of her on my Instagram. Do you have Instagram? If you do feel free to follow me. I tend to post a lot of pics of my kids, pets and books, my account it locked but if you send a request I will be happy accept it ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find me HERE.

I did a bit of Christmas shopping (kids are done, Letters are sent to Santa) and still haven’t found an OT for my finger but I will keep looking. This week looks busy with the holiday so I will be around but not to much. Next Post I will be able to share my house all decorated ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t wait!!! 31 days till CHRISTMAS.

Blog Ahead Challenge: Honestly not doing so good with this, should have done better planning and I didn’t so unfortunately since it’s almost over I am quietly bowing out ๐Ÿ™ I just didn’t do what I wanted to do with it and this was the last weekend I could really get stuff done and I pretty much have about 10 posts ahead, not bad but not what I was hoping to do.

A Month of Giving Thanks: It’s almost over but I have given thanks to some amazing people that I am so glad that I meet (even if it was only over the internet) I honestly and so happy that I was able to do this this year, I wasn’t sure if anyone new how much I really appreciate them and there blogs!!!

  1. I’m curious about the Reading Assignment challenge! And like you, I’m getting excited for Christmas. I’ve started shopping, and I need to ramp up my knitting as I have some things done or nearly done but at least one project not yet started yet.

I love what you’ve been doing with the month of giving thanks! And your new books look fun, especially Anyone But Ivy Pocket. Enjoy reading them!

    • Thank you! Christmas is my favorite time of year so I am getting the house ready this week to be able to set up all the decorations this weekend! Yay!!

I hope you will join the assignment challenge it will be strict but really fun ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I can’t wait to find out what 2015HW is but I’m sure it will be fun! I wish they had Elf on the Shelf when my kids were little. It looks so fun to do. I just setup an Edelweiss account but I can’t figure out how to request anything. But that is ok since I still have my Netgalley ARCs to read. Have a great week!!

  3. EW and NG are just too easy to access. I get my TBR under control and then I’m lured over to one of the sites and BAM! I am swamped again. Seriously, it’s a problem. I’m excited to see what you have in store for 2015!

  4. You and Berls are full of idea’s aren’t you. I’ll be interested to read more about this year long challenge you are going to run.
Hope you have a great week.

  5. If Stitching Snow is to Sci-fi for you then I am glad I didn’t pick it up because it will probably be to Sci-fi for me, I am a light Sci-fi sort of person and it’s really hit or miss with me..I am not even real big on watching it..lol.

We both do suck at waiting till the first of the year..and I almost picked up Ivy Pockets!! But I didn’t I was trying to be good with just the two..shame on use for visiting Edelweiss..lol.

Oh well like you said on my blog always next week. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have a great week!

  6. Looks like you had a pretty productive week, Michelle. I’m very excited about these new ideas of yours. So I’m looking forward to more details. I can’t believe you’re so far ahead in Christmas shopping. I’ve bought one thing. Of course, my youngest daughter’s bday was last week, so I had to get through that before i could move onto Christmas. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great week!

    • My youngest birthday was in November so I had to wait and see what she got before she could make a list but Santa has the list now and things should be moving along nicely in that area.
The Ideas are great I can’t wait to share the #2015HW with everyone it should be interesting.

      Thanks for stopping by Brandee

  7. 31 days???? I’m not ready! I have such a hard time getting lists from the older kids that I randomly assigned them animals and if I don’t get a list than they have that as the theme for Christmas or birthday. Not that it matters because I’m not exactly on top of the things I should be working on! I’m sorry to hear Stitching Snow didn’t work for you but I’ve heard good things about Get Even. Looking forward to seeing what you and Berls come up with next and have a great week!

  8. You think we can actually make it to January with no new ideas? We need to because I have so much work to do if we’re going to pull of everything else we have planned! I almost hyperventilated a minute ago when I realized that I need to setup all the ReadAThon pages (so you have buttons lol) and the scavenger hunt – you’re the one that reminded me LOL. And the end of year posts. And my Assignment list! Gah, I’m working hard today, that’s it!! Talk soon ๐Ÿ˜‰ oh and tell Julia she looks so cute in her glasses – I want a pic of the girlie sides still!

    • I will send it she will be so happy to take a picture to show you ๐Ÿ™‚

UGH now I have to make a list of all the things you just commented about. I only made one logo so far and this week will work on the rest of them. Plus I need to start typing and setting up the Old with old post and get the starter post for Dec 1st. You just now made me have a lot to do, AGAIN lol

      We will talk soon.

  9. I am looking forward to hear more about the reading challenge for 2015! You always come up with such awesome ideas! Will there be a post explaining the details of the old and new chalenge? I might join as I still have some empty days in december and no idea what to post.

I also did some christmas shopping this week, I always like doing shopping early so I don’t have to brave the crowds closer to christmas.
And 10 posts ahead is stil better the you started with, even if the chalenge makes you write one more post I say it has been worth it.

Omega City looks so good, but I can’t figure out edelweiss and maybe that’s for the best. I already have so many review books. I did went on netgalley this week and also returned with some books, lol.

    • The Old and New isn’t a challenge just a way to recap the year and tell everyone your goals for next year. You don’t have to sign up at all and you don’t have to do it all 12 days. We thought we were going to make it something but we both had very different ideas so we just made it a recap and goal posts. So no real details you can do what you want.

I am happy for the 10 posts I just couldn’t get my brain together enough to figure out what I wanted to do. I was going to write a To-Do List but then I figured I would just do whatever comes to me and that is where my mistake began lol

Edelweiss is very dangerous place and very hard to get accepted, I still think them accepting me was a mistake lol Netgalley is getting more dangerous but I really just need to stop until Jan ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I am really curious about the #HW challenge, Michelle, but you know that already ๐Ÿ˜€ I hope it will be something I can participate in.
And the out with the old in with the new is another great idea. I have to see if I’ll do something like that, too, or if I’ll continue being lazy and just keep on doing what I’m dong.
Too bad you had a DNF last week, it always makes me sad when I DNF a book, especially if it’s in a genre I usually enjoy.
Have a great Sunday and a fantastic week, Michelle ๐Ÿ™‚

    • ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s totally something you can participate in. I can’t wait to share my crazy idea lol
I have been rather lazy also and if it wasn’t for that I would have put up a simple post but this was Berls crazy idea and her ideas usually make me write lots of posts and make logos.

I hate DNF but I just couldn’t do it anymore it was almost a week. To long to spend on a book that isn’t working for me.

  11. I like the idea of your 12 day recap/ preview, that will be fun! We’re kinda in the christmas mood too, and have started shopping a bit. The kids’ lists are a mile long so it shouldn’t be hard to find stuff LOL!

Have fun decorating, we’re going to start too I think and put the tree up maybe next weekend. Thank you again BTW for the shout out last week ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I was really having a hard time trying to figure out how to fit a recap in one day ๐Ÿ™‚ this is going to be so much better.
Decorating is my favorite part and I need to do it alone because I am very specific, almost crazy lol
No problem, I really do enjoy your blog and so very glad I found it and you!
