Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

It was Hot, Muggy, Grey and just plan awful Monday to Thursday…Then, I am not sure what happened (the hurricane probably) Friday morning we woke up to 58 degrees. Like no subtle change just BAM it’s cold….no more hot, muggy, soupy days until next year. I am pretty happy about that, now we just need the sun to stay out for a couple of days in a row because as much as I love a good storm, I could live without rain for a few or more days. I think the sun has been out all day twice in two weeks.

Today we will adventure into the pumpkin patch and grab some apples and pumpkins. It’s officially the spooky season, crisp air and a bowl full of yummy apples. Now the trees just need to change color. (I will be commenting on blogs later today when I get home)

I am doing pretty good with Blog Ahead, I currently have 10 posts scheduled, some of them for Jan and Feb. I have a bunch of longer posts that I plan to write in the next two weeks but also finish out the month of October. I am back to writing better notes for books (plus dewey is next week) so I can at least have a few review posts ready but like I mentioned before I am just going to slowly finish out the year without pushing myself and start the new year all fresh and new.

Speaking of Dewey, I am so looking forward to doing this read-a-thon, it’s one of my favorites.  I am hoping to read at least 3 books that day and spend sometime writing the reviews also. That way I will have at least 3 books for review in November and will be ahead again. You can follow me on Twitter and Instragam to see how I am progressing. I should be updating a lot there. I also plan to update here but only a kick off post, Half way and an end post. I am not sure if I will have a Sunday Post. I don’t plan to read all 24 hours (because I need to adult the next day) but I am hoping to get in a good 16/18 hours.

The next few months is filled with fun events for reading  Dewey Read-a-thon on October 20th and then the HoHoHo Read-a-thon hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer November 9th through the 18thCan you read a series in a month? sign ups are now Live! challenge starts November 1st

Here is another fun event! Check out Black Friday Book Bonanza Giveaway Hop hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. Sign Ups are currently Live! Blog Hop runs from November 24 through November 27

Last Week on the Blog:

What you might see this week:

  • Can you read a series in a Month Goal Post!
  • #RH Series I read
  • Dewey Sign Up Post

What I read:

Cover for point horror aren’t very big and now I have OCD big time with how uneven this is but I am going to let it go….but it’s gonna be hard.

I am loving the idea of diving into old point horror books but Elizabeth is calling and I can’t stop wanting to read it. So I am going to read that next for Fraterfest.

What I grabbed

Lot of the books I want aren’t out yet so I didn’t grab anything this week. Hoping to stick with some books I already have. I will have more stuff next week since my book boxes will be coming! 🙂

Totally Random:

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. Yeah, we got that much cooler weather too. It’s nice. Especially the fewer bugs part. I’m loving that part.

I will always announce when there are cows. And horses. I do that too. lolol

I hope your week has been fantastic, Michelle! XOXO

  2. We had the same weather pattern. Except the hurricane dumped tons of rain on us Wednesday night and Thursday. Since then, it’s been cool, and even chilly at night and in the morning. Yay! I’d much rather be cold than hot; you can always put more clothes on. I hope you enjoyed the pumpkin patch! We bought our pumpkin at Walmart. I’m hoping it survives until Halloween…

  3. I hope y’all had fun at the pumpkin patch. I miss doing that trip. My kids are always too busy nowadays. Maybe next year, hubs and I can make a tradition of going just the two of us. 🙂 I hope your weather stays cool and you get to see some sun. It’s snowed here quite a bit in the last week…I missed a lot of it because I was in Oregon/Washington doing last rounds of college visits with my son. But it snowed ALL DAY yesterday so… Funny – we were enjoying sunshine in rainy PNW and came home to cold and snow. I have lots of RATs and Challenges to sign up for! Have a great week! {{{big hugs}}}

  4. This weather blows! I have to pull out warm clothes… except wait, I don’t have hardly any because of losing weight, so there’s that problem. And this is the season of illness and germs at school. And just plan COLD ! Today I wanted to go for a run because I’m off school but it’s 45 degrees and raining… supposed to be all day. I think I hate fall almost as much as winter. Bring me spring and summer please. Enjoy Dewey’s, I’m sad I’ll be missing it this year but I just have way too much going on.

  5. Yup the weather dropped 30 degrees with the Hurricane Michael in the middle. I had to turn on the heat. I love the cool sleeping at night tho. I am going to do the series in a month challenge but can’t figure out which of like 10 series to choose. This week maybe I’ll figure it out. I wish I could do Dewey but of course I work all weekend again next weekend. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • We haven’t turned on the heat yet. I has to be freezing before I will do that or the girl that lives downstairs ask for it one. 🙂
The Series in a month is so fun. I finally picked a series but I am worried I might change it 🙂
Dewey is so fun, I never make it the entire event but I love setting time aside to read all day.

  6. Same here with weather. It got pretty cold and rainy just bam, all of a sudden. Lots of rain *sigh*

Have fun at the pumpkin patch! Love this time of year…

That Random pic reminds me of Twister when they see a cow go flying by…

  7. We had a bunch of warm and sunny days this week, it was weird to have such warm weather this time of the year, but it was nice to see the sun as normally it rains lot during autumn. I hope you’ll get some days without rain soon. I hope you have fun visiting the pumpkin patch.

That’s great you have 10 posts scheduled already and even some for next year. I hope to do a few non review posts at the end of the year and early next year, but haven’t had the time to start on those yet.

    Have a great week!

    • I remember being young and the weather being much different. I am hoping that all the warm weather is done until May of next year. I don’t think it ever rained this much but hurricane season seems to be over active this year.

I am hoping to get more done so I can get ahead on other stuff, its nice to have a little buffer.

  8. I signed up for Dewey but I usually never get much read and I don’t do the whole 24hrs as I have church the next morning! Sometimes I wish it was on Friday so I could try doing the whole 24hrs and sleep all day Saturday…lol. 😉 Yeah probably still couldn’t stay up for 24hrs I am to old for that! 🙂

Hope you like the Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein! I want to read that one!

    • You should try the 24 in 48. That one is suppose to be a lot of fun and you can sleep normally. 🙂 Dewey also did a reverse 24 hour. I didn’t really understand it and only saw it when it was about to go live so I missed it but it started at 12 on Friday and ran into the next day or something like that. Next year I want to do at least one 24 in 48.

I am so excited to read it and my current seems to be taking so long lol
