Just a bunch of Christmas Stuff ~ WIR & TSP

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

This week was extremely uneventful πŸ™‚ We didn’t do a whole lot but I spend a lot of time getting organized with Christmas Dinner and finishing up the kids gifts from Santa…I mean letting him know what they want, of course! Thursday was my daughters Christmas concert at school and she did so good it was really nice. On Friday we went to my moms to bake some yummy cookies, we do it every year and it’s fun, if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw the picture but if you don’t here is some of the cookies we made.

Thumbprints with Jam and Nutella, Pecan Balls and Chocolate Chip Lumps (that’s what I call them)

On Saturday we had breakfast with Santa at the Rainforest Cafe. The food is shit but the kids have a great time and that’s really what counts.

IMG_2649We were suppose to go to the zoo at night to see the Christmas lights but my sinuses were acting up and I just wasn’t feeling all that great so we are hoping to go next weekend if I am ahead of schedule with all the Christmas preparations.

Can you believe Christmas is only 11 days away? Are you in a panic because you didn’t realize it was only 11? I pretty much have to kick it in gear this week and get presents wrapped and my cookies made plus I have to order my groceries for pick up the week of Christmas. So blogging and visiting will be light the next 11 Days πŸ˜‰

Today I plan to make sure I have everything and then try and relax so I don’t get sick for real. Tonight is the last WWE PPV of the year and the kids (and me) are really looking forward to it.

On December 22nd look for Details on a year long challenge that I will be co-hosting with Laura @ Trips down imagination road I think it will be a lot of fun and something to really get you motivated to finish those Bookish New Years Resolutions. πŸ™‚

  1. Last time I went to Rainforest cafΓ© it wasn’t too bad…then again I was in Paris at Disney land and had had a few cocktails (rollar coasters after that are really fun!) so that could be why! Looks like they had fun though πŸ™‚

I am definitely panicking about not being ready for Christmas! Where did the time go? Your cookies look delicious, nom. I hope your sinuses are better and you make it to the zoo.

  3. I cracked up at your comment “the food is shit”… so true! It’s a fun place but what a ripoff for what you get! πŸ™‚ Although we do like the Volcano… that is the bomb! THe kids love it when it comes out with the sparkler and all that…

We were behind on presents but we went out yesterday and got some things bought, so we’re back on track hopefully. LOL.

Christmas cookies, yum. I’m not a big snacker but Christmas cookies… I can eat those all day. πŸ™‚

    • The VOLCANO!!! You have to yell it πŸ™‚
The food is ok depending on what you get but breakfast is not.

I can eat them too it was murder when I lived at home trying to avoid the basement that had all the cookie tins but now I wait till she gives us a tray of them but they are yummy to test while making πŸ™‚

  4. Omg, I LOVE thumbprints! I should make those this year. I haven’t made them in forever. And I had to LOL at the shitty food, but the kids love it. We say that about Golden Corral. The kids love going there, but we think the food sucks. So we take them once in awhile. The things we do for our offspring. LOL

    • I actually DNF a christmas book this week, I hated the characters and the story was weird.

I love hallmark christmas movies so I always try to find book like that, christmas jingle was really cute, I totally recommend.

  5. Avalon Rising looks very interesting, Michelle πŸ™‚ I hope you’ll enjoy it.

I had trouble with my sinuses this past week, too, I had no energy and slept much more than usual πŸ™ I hope you’re feeling much better now.

For me, it’s only 10 days left until Christmas, as we celebrate on the 24th here. And I haven’t bought a single gift yet, and we only decorated our tree today :O I’m so, so behind. Plus I have lots of stuff to do for classes for next week, so I have no idea when I’ll be able to go shopping.

I’m looking forward to the new challenge, Michelle. I’m pretty sure I’m going to sign up πŸ™‚

Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

    • Laura and I worked out all the details and it looks like it will be fun! We took into consideration all your suggestions from the COYER group. Need to make my resolutions this week to have an example post up πŸ™‚

My sinuses are awful, I always have problems and with the weather here in the states being so weird (warm, cold, warm, cold) it’s messing up my face. I am not bad today still stuffy and my throat is killing me but a little tea will help that.

You need to get moving on your shopping πŸ™‚ I think I am done but plan to find time today to go through what I have, I think I have a lot more than I planned but also missing a few things for relatives. So I am feeling a little behind at the moment. Hoping to make today a good blogging day to catch up and not have to worry about anything the next two weeks πŸ™‚

      have a great week Lexxie!

  6. Those cookies look great and there are so many of them! Christmas certainly is close already, we’re not goign to much special this christmas so I don’t have to do much preperations. We’re goign to have dinner at my boyfriend’s parents one day and one new years day my mom will visit as around christmas didn’t work out that well this year.

My winter Coyer challenge post will be up this week! I can’t wait for Coyer to start, so excited to be participating for the second time! I even ended up making a list of books I want to read during Coyer.
Not sure about the Reading Assignment challenge though as I still have no clue which books to put on my list, the idea of chosing a book that I won’t be able to read until next year stressed me out :(.

Good luck with all your christmas preparations!

    • The reading assignment is hard, I had a few books I was going to put on it but realized I wanted to read them sooner so I did books that have been sitting around for a while, since I wasn’t in a rush to read them before I wont be in a rush to read them now and just read each month. but I picked paperback books so they don’t count in COYER cause I am a doofus and didn’t think of that lol.

Holidays can be stressful so it’s good to have a nice easy one. One day we will have a nice easy one but with the kids it will be stressful for a while πŸ™‚

  7. Omg I loved the darkest part of the forest, I hope you love it too πŸ™‚ and feel free to send some of those Xmas cookies our way, you clearly have plenty!!

I can’t believe Christmas is just 11 days away! I’m almost done with all my shopping, but I’m also blown away that I’m not as ahead of schedule as I thought I was πŸ™ oh well!

    Chat this afternoon?

    • I am not ahead either I am hoping to fix that in the next two days. I am in a bit of a panic.
