About the Author

Elizabeth was born in Ireland and moved with her family to London when she was a child. A classically trained cellist, her love of music brought her to play with an orchestra in London. For so many years she kept hidden the secrets of her engagement. It has been eight years since the first word was written down on paper. She and her husband Finn, along with their two young boys, live in New England.  They teach music, and those dark, desperate years in London, so long ago now, are forgotten.

1. When do you find yourself singing?

I sing in the car, or when I’m hiking on the mountain near to where I live. I love music, classical, blues, jazz, country, R&B …most especially anything that is original and comes from a musician’s soul.

2. What is one item you cannot live without?

My husband and my children.

3. What season do you prefer? Why?

Autumn is the most beautiful season. I love the smell of the leaves, and the feel of the wind on a warm October day. But my favorite month is May because it reminds me of Ireland when everything is green and the rain falls softly on spring mornings.

4. You walk into a room, what is your entrance music?

Piano concerto No 1  Romance (Larghetto)  by Chopin or The Swan by Camille Saint-Saens

5. What is one thing a woman should never do

A woman should always follow the dreams and instincts in her heart. She is always so much more than what others would want her to believe. She is grace, beauty, love, nurturing, strong, she is a masterpiece.

6. What is your favorite kind of cereal?

My favorite cereal is Lucky Charms. Well, anything sugary really! I’ll munch on cereal right of the box.

7. What is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

Hugs. But also the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me is to see me, the real me inside. Without judgment. And love me anyway.

8. Where do you mind not waiting?

When my children are gathering the courage to try something new.

9. What is your favorite snack food?

Where to begin…..pizza, nachos, and all desserts. Most especially French desserts…

10. If you could project yourself into the past where would you go?

I would want to attend my grandparents’ wedding.

11. What would you refuse to do for one million dollars.

Everything. Money brings out the worst in others.

12. If you were home on a rainy Sunday afternoon, what movie would you want to watch? 

Any movie that made the made the world a better place, or inspired others to make the world a better place to wake up to.

13. What historical figure would you most likely want to have discussion with?

I would want to be in the same room when the Declaration of Independence was written.
