A meltdown, snow and a shitty breakfast ~ WIR & TSP

Posted December 18, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 22 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog, Books & Real Life:

I realize I haven’t been visiting or commenting a lot the last two weeks. I have been super busy and we had a major meltdown this week with Ryan, first one in a long time but it calmed down now, it’s just been a very stressful week and it ended with a shitty breakfast.

As you read this, I am at a shitty breakfast with Santa at the Rainforest Cafe. This will be our last year because good lord why do we torture ourselves. Next year we are going to Cracker Barrel, just enjoying breakfast and then maybe visit Santa at the mall but I can’t do this again

I have been a good busy but busy! I have had a lot of design work that I have been doing for clients and I am so over excited about it. I haven’t been this busy in a while and I hope this is a preview of what is to come next year…maybe? Work has also been busy so from 6am to 9pm I am working like a mad woman and looking forward to the crash on Christmas Weekend. So please pardon my disappearance, I am around just not 100% around until I can organize my time which is hard with the holiday right around the corner.

It SNOWED!!! Yup, it SNOWED on Saturday! It of course rained after that but it was nice to see everything so glittery and white. I took the dog for a walk in the morning as it fell and it was so quiet, I was the only one on the street outside, the snow was so fresh and new. I love mornings like that. Of course, we were suppose to do the Rainforest on Saturday but wasn’t going to chance having my parents drive in this so that is why we are there today.

Might not have a full Sunday post next week since Christmas is at my house and I have to work on Monday 🙁 but I will be back to full Sunday Post mode on Jan 1st! 🙂

  1. There are definitely other places to enjoy a pre-Christmas family meal. And if it’s breakfast, the mall Santa lines will be relatively short. There’s no reason to suffer through any more shitty breakfasts! YAY on all the design business! I hope it continues into the new year.

  2. I saw your breakfast pictures and I laughed knowing it was probably a shitty experience. We are planning to go to Disneyland next year and avoiding our usual meal at the Rainforest Café. Too bad the food is awful since it is a fun restaurant for the kids. I’ll be contacting you next year for more images for my blog. I love the ones you created and this time I’m writing a list so I don’t forget what I need lol. I hope you have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

    • The breakfast is bad, other foods aren’t too bad but it’s not the best and it is fun.
I would be happy to make more stuff for you 🙂

  3. I’m sorry you had to endure a shitty breakfast but yay for making the decision to not do it again next year! 😉 And SNOW! We had snow as well – around 8 inches. All I gotta say is it’s about damn time! *hahaha* My oldest is now home from college, we got the house decorated, and have done some baking. That’s what we’ve been up to.
I’m glad things are calm with Ryan but I’m sorry there was a meltdown. Hopefully y’all figured out what triggered it. Anyway, you do what you need to do to take care of YOU and your family. And enjoy your Christmas crash.
    I miss your face, Michelle! Have a great week and a Merry Christmas! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

    • My mom said she loves us being all together we should keep going until the kids are old…I’m like no, lets do something else together 🙂 lol
I saw the pictures of them making cookies, it must be nice to have a full house again.
He has his bumps this was a big one but I was expecting something since the holidays, decorations and other stuff tend to mess him up a little but this wasn’t that bad. He just wiped his entire computer of EVERYTHING! without asking me first. I could have killed him 🙂 I think he knows now to ask first.

  4. Oh no not another shit breakfast at Rainforest lol. the only thing I like there is the Volcano which is like $15 or some thing which is so frickin ridiculous! At least cracker barrel’s food doesn’t suck (mostly). You always have the funniest Sunday Posts! 🙂

Yay you got snow! You can have some of ours to if you want ha ha. It’s falling again and the roads are shit! But yeah it’s pretty when it’s fresh and clean and a walk is nice when it’s coming down and everything is shushed- that’s always neat.

Glad the design work is going well. Hope you have a fantastic week and an awesome Christmas!!

    • I do enjoy the Volcano, the only Rainforest that is really good, even the food is the one in Disney but everything in Disney is amazing! I do like Cracker Barrel, we don’t have one close by so it would be nice to go to once a year as a family breakfast.

It rained today and was like 100 degrees, well 58 but that feels like 100 to me. So we probably wont see snow again until next year.

Thanks, I am happy to be somewhat busy 🙂

    • It’s so bad, like awful! I eat Raisin Bran and drank coffee. I couldn’t get myself to eat anything else, it tastes fake. I think most of the stuff is frozen. They don’t do breakfast, they should have lunch with Santa and have a limited menu.

  5. I’m having issues at home, too so I feel your stress. I am so hoping 2017 is better because I’m not sure I can take another 2016.

Ah, snow. How I miss it. We so rarely get it and when we do it’s wet or icy crap. Blerg.

I’m so happy your design work has picked up! YAY!! *bounces in seat* I still need to decide on my erotica warning design. I completely forgot about it with everything going on here. *sigh*

I hope you have a fantastic week and a very Merry Christmas, Michelle! XOXO

I hate the ICE! That seems to happen a lot around here also..like tonight. Everything melted and we are going to have ice tomorrow. Fun times! 🙂

Thank you and YES! we do need to figure that out. lol

  6. I am sorry to hear about your busy week and Ryan his meltdown, glad to hear he’s doing better now. Enjoy your breakfast and hopefully you can go somewhere better next year.

I am so glad to hear you’ve been getting a lot of design work. I definitely hope that will keep up! I’ve been pretty busy with work as well these past few weeks and I hope it keeps up, but I am also looking forward to taking a bit more free time the next two weeks.

That’s nice you got some snow. We haven’t gotten any snow here yet, a few colder days, but mostly it hasn’t been too cold.

And I am so excited Coyer started, I hope I can participate a bit more on the social media games this time. I am only joining Coyer and Lexxie her new release challenge this year as I want to keep things simple this year. I hope you have a good week!

    • He is doing better, we always have a bump but this was a big one 🙂 I hope so too, the kids enjoy it but for the money it’s not worth it.

I am hoping it keeps up but it always seems to get busy during the holidays, I am almost finished with the teasers and have another job I think I will start after christmas.

I am excited about COYER and have a few challenges for next year that I will join. They keep me motivated.

  7. I love mornings like that too, when the snows lightly falling and everything is quiet. I hope your breakfast is over fast and not to torturous. Have a great week!

  8. I hope your shitty breakfast will be over soon! And that you’ll indeed be able to avoid it in the future 🙂 I also hope Ryan is doing better, and that he’ll stay better. I also hope you’ll be able to take good care of yourself – even if you ARE super woman <3

I'm so happy for you about the design clients!

Your new books look good – I got the Beard one, too, but I forgot to add it to my post…

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
