My To-Be Read List ~ Lets Vote ~ March

Posted March 5, 2016 by Michelle in My TBR List / 27 Comments

MyTBRListWe sit for hours looking through our TBR lists wondering when we will ever get to that one book we were dying to read when we added it 3 months ago or maybe even a year. As our piles get bigger we realize there is just not enough time in a day to read all the books that we wanted to read. So I had a great idea, pick 3 books from my TBR Pile and have you all pick which one I should read next. This is a monthly MEME and you are more than welcome to join me. Just create a blog post with your three books and link the post below. Need the full rules? No problem you can find them all right HERE. Don’t forget to stop by the blogs on the linky below to help the other bloggers by voting on their next read!

I thought we can keep up with each list with the hashtag #MyTBRL so add that to the end of your post so if you can’t get to the linky we can still find you 🙂

This months picks I am hurting (I would hate to kill them) 3 birds with one really soft rock. I have picked books for the TBR List read, my #2016HW Challenge and March Take Control of your TBR Challenge.

So this month I picked

NetgalleyUprooted
by Naomi Novik
Hardcover, 435 pages
Published May 19th 2015 by Del Rey

“Our Dragon doesn’t eat the girls he takes, no matter what stories they tell outside our valley. We hear them sometimes, from travelers passing through. They talk as though we were doing human sacrifice, and he were a real dragon. Of course that’s not true: he may be a wizard and immortal, but he’s still a man, and our fathers would band together and kill him if he wanted to eat one of us every ten years. He protects us against the Wood, and we’re grateful, but not that grateful.”

Agnieszka loves her valley home, her quiet village, the forests and the bright shining river. But the corrupted Wood stands on the border, full of malevolent power, and its shadow lies over her life.

Her people rely on the cold, driven wizard known only as the Dragon to keep its powers at bay. But he demands a terrible price for his help: one young woman handed over to serve him for ten years, a fate almost as terrible as falling to the Wood.

The next choosing is fast approaching, and Agnieszka is afraid. She knows—everyone knows—that the Dragon will take Kasia: beautiful, graceful, brave Kasia, all the things Agnieszka isn’t, and her dearest friend in the world. And there is no way to save her.

But Agnieszka fears the wrong things. For when the Dragon comes, it is not Kasia he will choose.

  1. I voted for Uprooted, because I really want to read it. I took a break this month from the challenge, because I still need to finish my last book and am struggling with my reading right now.

Also, I’m not sure what’s wrong with BookLikes these past couple days, but loading has been extremely slow or non-existent. So in case that one doesn’t load I went ahead and copied my post and voting box to my Blogspot site where I typically post non-bookish stuff.

The link should show in this comment’s comment luv thingy.

      Thanks.

  3. I voted for Seaborn: The Lost Prince as it sounds like a fun pirate themed MG adventure books! But the other two look really good too! The Boy who knew everything has a nice cover and sounds intriguing as well.
