WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You might have noticed a change to the blog design, I am still tweaking but this is the start of the new and improved *BECAUSE READING.* I wanted something different and a little more simple but keeping with my cute-ish theme when I started this was not what I thought I wanted but I LOVE it.  New Color, New Headers for a New Year! It took a lot longer than I thought and the New Tweak Me v2 Theme has so many things you can do it was overwhelming. I still want to fix a few things but I figured for now it will do, I’ll play around more this week. It just looks so pretty 🙂

I have been a bit lazy this week and took off another couple more days off from the blog (now of course I’m behind). We had a nice little party with a few close friends at the house on New Years eve and the rest of the week was just spent being together. My husband and the kids weren’t feeling well but this weather in NJ has been so weird so it’s not a surprise we all have some sort of sinus issue. Saturday it snowed and it was about 31 but today it’s going to be 61, Um, yay, HUGE difference…Go home Mother Nature your drunk!

I haven’t been able to visit to much and I was only able to read one book but now with the holidays behind us and the kids going back to school on Monday it will be nice to be back to normal.

Coyer is in full swing and we had our first Read-a-thon this weekend. You still have time to Sign Up
Plus you don’t have to be a part of COYER to join in on the Read-a-thons see the COYER tab above to sign up.

The Bookish Resolutions has also started and you still have time to Sign Up so lets get those resolutions accomplished together!

The 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge has also started but again you still have time to Sign Up, lets make a list and get to reading all those books that you have always wanted to read!

I recently started my own business "Limabean Designs" to help other bloggers, authors and anyone else create amazing things that they would be proud to show off. I have been reading since forever and started blogging because I love sharing all the awesome books this world has to offer. I am also the co-host for the COYER Challenge, Reading Assignment Challenge and the Bookish Resolutions Challenge. I try to create a warm welcoming environment on my blog where authors, readers, and bloggers will have a great time. Let’s chat books, games, blogging, recipes, design, or family over a cup of coffee and a glass of wine!

  1. I love the new look! I finally switched to the Tweak Me 2 but I’m still using the original design elements (since I hired someone to do them lol). So my blog still looks the same but I love how easy I can change the layouts. I also have some things I still want to change (I can’t decide on the fonts lol).

I hope you enjoyed your break. I wish I took one this year so I’m definitely going to do it next year (Christmas time was just too busy). I also bought The Madman’s Daughter but it was on sale, so we can’t pass this deal! I hope we both enjoy it.

Welcome back and I hope you have a great week!

  2. I just love your new blog design – all the tweak me 2 blogs look cleaner somehow. But I really don’t want to spend all that time redoing my blog when I have an author site to setup. So for now, my blog stays as is. LOL!

I can’t believe you didn’t even own Cress yet! Bad! Lol I hope you love it. TTYL 🙂

  3. I want Cress and Madman’s Daughter! They both look so good. I like your new look. It’s nice and sparkling clean looking! I already got my Reading Assignment book read for January so I’m feeling pretty on top of everything! Have a great week!

Tweaking the look is always fun. 🙂 I used to do it on a regular basis.

A quiet break sounds perfect. The weather here in New England has been crazy, but I like how mild it’s been. Well, up until this week. 😀

    Happy New Year!

  5. Happy New Year Michelle. i like the new look- you’re right, it’s nice for a new year. We had some sickness in our house too, and I laughed at your comment about Mother Nature. So true. 🙂 Have a great week and enjoy the reads.

    • Thank you kim and Yes I have all the windows open but it’s a chilly 61 not like spring however since it’s winter I wouldnt mind a 3 or 10 every once in a while but this bi-polar weather is getting on my nerves. The differents just isn’t natural 🙂

You all have been rocking COYER like no ones business, I can’t believe that review link already has 68 reviews (maybe more haven’t checked today) Just makes me so happy 🙂

    • Fairest comes out this month I believe and I feel like I might need a refresh on Scarlet before I read Cress but I’ll do that looking over peoples reviews. That’s a good idea to wait till Winter is out but Kim really wants me to read this one so I will 😉

  6. Thank you! No I have a bunch of cute little things I used. I even made the dividers. It was cute to make all the stuff but I wasn’t planning on doing any of that which is probably why it took me so long.

I am never a good girl when it comes to book, I am waiting on two more approvals, part of me wants then and another part thinks it would be better not to be approved. Hope to catch up on reading in the next couple of week. I think I might be behind already lol

    • Oh those hearts are cute..the were here when I was on here earlier! I was curious about your little person cause I was thinking about seeing if you could put a little scarecrow character on my header..I know roll your eyes at me..lol. 😉 I have an idea for incorporating the little scarecrow in other parts of my blog..lol.

      • My little girl has always been on my blog I just changed her outfit color. I can put a cute little scarecrow on your header but we might have to play with it a little to make it fit. I would hate for it to be to busy.

  7. I love the header! Did you draw your own little avatar? It\’s cute! You was bad but that\’s okay it happens..I was good this week and not netgalley or edelweiss!! 🙂 I hope you enjoy your current and new reads!Stormi

  8. I’m really liking the new theme Michelle! (I was thinking that earlier when I was silently stalking the COYER reviews but didn’t think it would be appropriate to comment there!) That’s why I never include a haul…then people would know how bad I was at saying no to books!

    • lol I blame my laziness and the kids, it has just been so great spending time with them I didn’t want it to end!

Thank you! I think its the graphic designer in me that makes me want to change thing around all the time. I just love the simple look of it all. I need to start changing all my social media stuff to match. For me that’s the fun part 🙂

  9. I like your new design, it still has a bit of the same cute feel indeed, but it’s a bit more calm and simple. And it’s still easily recognizeable as your blog. I am staying with the Tweak me theme 1 for now, but I’ve seen quite some bloggers switch to the v2, is it even better than the first version? I heard it had new options, but not sure if I need those options.

I am already reading my reading assignmentn book for January! And it counts for Coyer as well, yay!

Nice haul you got this week, I didn’t got any books in the past few weeks, but I probably get a lot of new books when my ordered books finally arrive! Once in a while a week with lots of new books is nice 🙂

    • It has a LOT of new stuff, the static home page is good if you are an author and a blogger. I see no need for it yet but I might find it useful later. It is a bit confusing and you need to set a good amount of time aside to figure it all out. You can change every detail so you need to have everything ready before you start. It’s all trial and error but it was interesting to do.

I start my reading assignment book next and it also counts for COYER 🙂

It really is nice to get lots of books every so often lol

  10. I know it’s not fun to be behind (I experience it all the time) but it’s also nice to take a break, isn’t it? I think we all need a break sometimes. So I’m glad you got one, Michelle. I hope everyone is feeling better now and that Mother Nature is sobering up. 😉

  11. You got some very nice-looking books this week, Michelle, I hope the stories will be as good as their covers 🙂

Spending New Year’s Eve with close friends is the best – we did the same thing. And our weather is just as crazy as yours – yesterday, it was cold enough to be icy, and today it’s almost spring-like…

    Have a spectacular Sunday 🙂

    • Cover’s are my weekness 🙂

We always stay home and have friends over and eat tons of food but I wouldn’t want it any other way, even if it was just us I would still be very happy.

Weather just needs to get it together, I love me a little winter but this is just weird 😉
