Non-Review

If you follow my blog you know I have been having a reading problem lately, just can’t seem to find any books that work for me. I was excited to read Uprooted…I now present you with my non-review because I don’t review DNF books….

*Sigh* I really tried, I really, really did. I was at 25% and just wished the tower that the “Dragon” and Agn..whatever her name is, would just BLOW UP and the story would be over! I couldn’t take these two. He was very unlikable and she was getting on my nerves. I am so bummed since everyone loved this book and of course I didn’t. It was so slow and at 25% I still wasn’t seeing the point of the story or what was going on. Character build didn’t seem to be happening and his name calling and just nasty attitude was a total turn off. Maybe I should have stuck around but I just couldn’t and the writing style or her use of wording was so hard to read. I really with all my heart wanted to LOVE this book but I didn’t, not even a little bit.

    • Sadly I am not a re-reader and don’t have a go to book. I think regardless this one wouldn’t have worked for me. I just didn’t like the characters at all.

  1. You know I read the excerpt at amazon or somewhere and was not impressed, so this review doesn’t surprise me. The whole idea of the mean wizard who chooses her and she has to go live with him, but they fall in love eventually- after he treats her bad- I just don’t get. Maybe I’m oversimplifying, and I can’t judge what I haven’t read, but the beginning wasn’t for me.

Sorry it didn’t work! I’ve been having trouble picking my next read so I can relate, it’s frustrating! πŸ™‚

  2. I heard that this was a great book, but really it’s only great to those who loved it, right? We all have our own individual tastes in books and some just don’t work. I’ve had my share of DNFs and put-asides this year. Don’t know if it’s because I have way more books at my fingertips now and can be more selective, or something else. Hope you find a good one soon!

    • I noticed I also have been DNF’ing a lot more books than normal. Guess when they are at your fingertips it’s hard to say no but then you get a DNF. I have been more selective lately just because I have so many I need to get to I don’t want to add a lot more when I am DNF’ing left and right. I think this one was not for me, I couldn’t get passed how much I hated the characters πŸ™‚

Aww… I’m sorry you didn’t like this one. I guess this just goes to show that books are different for everyone. I personally loved this book, so I feel kind of bad that so many of us got you so hyped up for it. I hate the feeling of going into a book with high hopes, but then it just doesn’t work out. Hopefully the next one will be better for you.

    • Thank Brandee, I wasn’t sure how to explain the writing, I am not saying anything again the author it just wasn’t my cup of tea. It really is a bummer when you are hoping for the best and you don’t get what you expected. πŸ™‚ My current read is pretty good!
