My To-Be Read List is now a MEME!!! Update Post

A couple months ago I put My To-Be Read List feature on hold to do a little revamp and make it more interactive. So in April I debuted it with a way for my friends and followers to vote on the next book I would read. Using a poll I picked 3 books from my TBR List and had you vote on them to see which one I would read that month. I found books I DNF and ones I really liked and I realized this is really helping me get to those books that I know I would have not gotten to otherwise. As I did this I realized – why not extend this feature to everyone? So next month (September) I’m launching it as a meme instead.

How it willΒ work

Each month you will post with three books from your TBR List and add your link on a linky (that will be provided on my post). Your followers and the people on the linky will help you choose which book you will read next. The following Saturday you will announce the book that won. Then read the book and on the last Saturday of the month post a review (with an optional giveaway).

I’ll give you a few more details (step by step) πŸ™‚

The Rules

Ex. Lets say its September…

The first Saturday is the 6th – your post will go up with the 3 books you choose and then link it to the linky on my blog. My post will go up at 5am est. Make sure you link back to me on your post to have your followers visit other people’s blogs to help vote if they want. You can do the Polling however you would like, I recommend Survey Monkey, it has a good one and it’s free (here is an EXAMPLE of my post). You can set it up and say whatever you would like – it’s totally up to you. All I ask is to please link it back to me.

The second Saturday is the 13th – this is the day you announce which book won and whatever else you would like. (here is an EXAMPLE of my post) My post will have a linky, so we can all easily see what everyone will be reading.

The third Saturday is the 20th– you don’t have to post anything (some months will only have 3 weeks so this week would have been your review post)

The fourth (and last) Saturday is the 27th– this is when your review will go up regardless of how you liked the book. Please note even if you didn’t finished it just write a small post about how you felt about the book. I don’t write DNF reviews, but I do for this feature so my followers can see what I thought about the book they picked for me.

I also do a giveaway for $5 Gift Cert (or you can do one with the 3 books you picked). You don’t have to do this. It’s totally up to you. So please feel free to enter the giveaway at the end of the month – the giveaway is open to everyone.

This final review post will also have a linky on it so you can link up your review and we can see what you thought of the book that was picked. This will draw some views to your blog and maybe find some new friends along the way. πŸ™‚

It all starts next week

I really found this to be a great way to read books that I never honestly thought I would get to. You don’t have to do it every month but the Meme will be open each month for you to join me if you are interested.

This will start on SEPTEMBER 6th so have your post up and link it to me. Each month there will be a linky on my Post for you to join us.

So would you be interested in joining me? If you have any questions at all please let me know πŸ™‚

Grab the button for your post. It links back to me so others can see the rules and all the details.

Because reading is better than real life

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my new MEME! I do hope you will join me πŸ™‚

    • OMG I have SO Many books that I got from BEA that I just keep staring at and I just keep taking 3 from there. Plus you can always keep the same books but add 1 new one each month. You can do whatever you want, this is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to vote on everyone.

  1. This is good.. I used to participate in something similar called What’s Next. Unfortunately your spam blocker on your comments won’t let me post a link to the hosting blog but the blog is called Icey Books and the meme is called What’s Next if you want to google it. Anwyays… I ended up stopping because well honestly I didn’t even think the blog hosting ever cared that anyone participated or anything. I will join up… sounds fun!

    • My blog hates links for some reason, I need to get that fixed Lol.
I think what is good about mine is that it gets everyone to vote on everyone elses books for the month. I can’t wait to vote on everyones, Its so much fun watching the votes and seeing what book won πŸ™‚

    • πŸ™‚ it’s great how many books I have gotten to that I never thought I would! This time I am looking at my shelf books and picking three since they are screaming my name lol

  2. This is similar to a meme I participate in now called Random Reads where I use random.org to pick a book off my tbr list. I think this is a great idea and I would love to participate, but at this point I have a lot of other goals going on and I wouldn’t be able to finish the book in 2 weeks. I rarely finish my random reads within the month. I usually am always playing catch up.

  3. Question!!! For the winning book announcement, would we have to make a new post? Or can we just update the poll page and link to that again?

This sounds so fun! It’s going my list of potential memes for 2015, since I’m reevaluating what I’m participating in. πŸ™‚

  4. I’ll be participating next month for sure and then we’ll see how it goes and if I like it :). Not sure if I will review the book exactly on saturday as well and within two weeks, but I am asusming it won’t be a problem if I am a bit flexible with when I actually review the chosen book?

    • No you can review whenever but the MEME reviews are due on the last Saturday πŸ™‚ that pushes me to actually read it if I’m to laid back I’ll let it pass πŸ™‚

    • LOl I know mine is the same way. Well it will always be like this now so you can join at anytime πŸ™‚ even if you can’t join stop by and vote. I need all the help I can get picking!
