Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโs a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On the Blog & Real Life:
I got back from Vacation on August 8th and we had such a good time (I’ll explain in a moment) It was so nice to refresh myself and when I came home I realized a lot of my stress is because I am so very unorganized. You might think I am organized but I fake adult very well and honestly I am so unorganized that it’s literally overwhelming at times. So this weekend I worked out what I need to do and it occurred to me that not only did I not know how to spell occurred but I think this would make a great post to share with others that have a very hard time getting organized. So look for that post very soon!
On to the vacation, we had a BLAST! We went to Wildwood, NJ if you haven’t been there that fine it’s not a must see before you die, trust me but it was so much fun to hang with the family and not have to clean anything or do laundry. We spent a lot of time swimming and 6 hours at the water park that was literally on the next blog from out hotel, we can see it from out window, the park is small but has so much to do that we got two lounge chairs and let the kids go off on there own checking in with us after they slide down two slides. If they were gone to long we would search for them but usually found them in the lazy river. The best part is the bucket that dumps down from above, it kind of hurts when it splashes down but that’s only if you have big ears like me, they get beat up by the water, but it’s fun to stand under it.
At nights we spent a lot of time on the boardwalk and spend a LOT of money. My son was obsessed with the crane machines and getting these BunBun toys but with great patience and skill he got them all.
He also won me a little stuffed Death Star and it’s adorable.
My son was watching a 13 year old girl with her parents trying to get a Racoon BunBun when the girl finished her last try, my superhero son stepped in and put his money in. He told them that you needed to try and grab their heads because it’s heavy and you can grab and hold it better, first shot and he grabbed the racoon. He took it out and handed it to the girl. The girl was so happy and the parents thanked him. He said no problem and I couldn’t be prouder of him. He has his issues but he has a big heart and just a wonderful little man.
The rest of the week was filled with swimming and boardwalk walking. The last two days were a bit overcast we even went to the beach one day and I HATE THE BEACH! We all came home darker than when we left but completely refreshed. I posted a lot of pictures on instagram, so feel free to check them out HERE.
Ryan update: He needs to go back to school we have been having some moments with him but not as bad as before he went to the hospital. I think the pills are making him tired, since he has a hard time expressing his feelings he lashes out and because of all his issues lashing out can get bad, but we have been handling it and trying to help him. I have a call in to see if we can switch his morning pills (its 5 pills) to night and the pills at night (2 pills) to the day, it might help him not be so tired. I am going to call the school to schedule a meeting with them (once it starts) so I can explain what I have been seeing over the summer and have them aware that a lot of what is happening now is more from the Autism than from the Bi-Polar/Mood disorder. So with a little teaching and a lot of patience we will work through it but I figure I haven’t updated in a while, so there is it. ๐

I’m so happy you had such a wonderfully relaxing time on vacation, Michelle. We moms all need a little time when we aren’t responsible for quite as much as we are when we’re home. ๐ Thanks for relating that story about Ryan…that girl probably has stars in her eyes now…she’ll be looking for someone like him when she gets interested in boys. So sweet! I’m also anxious to see your post on organization. I fake adult very well, too (love that definition) and I’ve actually put myself on a daily schedule now that the kids are back in school. But I’d like to be more organized. Although I have to admit that I don’t think I’ll ever be *really* organized…my brain just doesn’t work that way. But I’ll take any help you have to offer! *ha* Lastly, I hope Ryan’s school will be patient and accommodating with you and him this year. You’re doing everything you can and he seems to be such a good boy. <3
Great vacations, then, and Ryan did such a sweet thing, I can understand how proud you were ๐ I’m organized – on paper – too, I keep making lists about how I should do things, then re-arranging the lists, but not really making them come true, lol. Have a great week, Michelle ::)
Yay for an awesome vacation! It’s easy to overlook one of the big reasons so many of us are so overwhelmed: the chaos of not having an organized day. I am so glad we are both getting more organized ๐ And yay for beach times!
Love the holiday pics and news. And I can related to the occurred issue as I get it wrong as well. Like accommodation. I get that wrong all of the time as well! ๐
I’m only organized at work but once I get home I don’t have the energy to worry about it. That’s why I run around hiding things when I know my parents are coming over lol. I loved all your pictures from your trip and it sounds like a lot of fun. I hope everything works out with Ryan’s school. Have a great week Michelle!
“I fake adult very well”- LOL don’t we all? Adulthood is overrated in my opinion ha ha. The water park looks awesome, I love those buckets andthe lazy river too. So fun. The slides look great and I always like strolling a boardwalk.
have an awesome week Michelle!!
Your Netgalley ban is just as good as mine I see. ๐ You got some interesting looking books. I still need to read the first in that Stacey Rourke series! ๐
Have a great week!

Ooo I see so many good books for the Ho-Ho-Ho read-a-thon. It is good you are keeping the school aware. Communication is so key and I hope you have a good staff there to work with.
School has a very good staff and we work very well together ๐
I can’t wait for Ho-Ho-H0 ๐
Sounds like you had an amazing vacation. That water park looks like a lot of fun! I don’t think I’ve ever been to a water park like that. I know I already said this before, but those stuffed animals are so cute. Oh and a little stuffed death star I have to see that! And that story about your son winning the racoon for that girl is so sweet! He’s a great kid! I am hoping you can figure things out with the school and explain what’s happening. You are a great mom!
You got quite some books read this week! More than I did ;). Lumiere looks good, but I am not sure if it’s a book for me, so I’ll await your review first. That cover is really pretty! Hope you have a great week!
This one was small but perfect for the kids to run around by themselves. Some of the slides had a lot of stairs and it was exhausting but fun.
I am hoping the school will listen to what I have to say because they tend to make their own decisions and for Ryan and what I have seen they need to understand what is going on. I plan to send his teacher an email because I think they need to know.
Lumiere I did a blitz for and I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not but I was so taken by the cover that I couldn’t pass it up on Netgalley since I was pre-approved for it.
I am glad you enjoyed the time away with your family. Your son is adorable for doing that for the girl. I hope you have a great week and get organised. Being organised is something I try to do but it rarely happens.
Thank you!
Organizing has been fun but is driving me crazy since I can’t seem to figure out what I want to make me actually do it ๐
What a great vacation! I haven’t been to a water park in years but they’re always so much fun. That was so sweet of Ryan! I can imagine the girl was so excited. Good luck with dealing with the school and the medication. Hopefully everything gets ironed out quickly.
Organization gets me too. It always makes me happier but I have to be careful to not over-organize or I won’t stick to the system. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
Water Parks are fun but exhausting, the stairs to get up to some of the rides are insane.
Once I am able to talk to the school I am sure it will be ok. They tend to overreact when he gets frustrated and I don’t want them sending him back to the hospital since that isn’t what is going on now.
I agree over organizing can make you not stick with it but I think I found something that will work, it just took me a while. ๐
Your vacation definitely sounds great, Michelle. I’m glad you all had such a good time, and what Ryan did for that girl who wanted the raccoon was SO sweet!
I know you’ll get organized, I think sometimes, we need to re-organize, because what used to work won’t be optimal anymore.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading ๐
We really did, it was nice to just get away. I think what I have been doing will be more helpful for this coming year. I just canโt deal with the stress of never knowing what to expect next. – See more at: https://www.becausereading.com/refreshed-and-organizing-wir-tsp/#comment-14641
