Week in READview:

Real life:

This week was an ok week:

  • Snow day on Monday but it melted rather quickly. About 5 inches, boy was home, girl had delayed opening.
  • FREEZING the rest of the week, warmer weather on the weekend (weather whiplash)
  • My sinuses hate me.
  • Time for Lent…(catholic girl) I’ve given up going on Facebook during the week and only going on once during the weekend. I need to use my time better so I am giving up what I think takes up more of my time. Plus I would like to find my faith again so I am working on that too.
  • RIP Luke Perry 🙁 This one really hurt.
  • I am doing better, had one set back this week but I am working through it.
  • Got a few design jobs that I am working on which is very exciting.

Blogging & Reading:

  • Spent the weekend working on posts for Blog Ahead, going to continue today.
  • Warrior of the Wild was soooooo good! 4.5 stars, I really loved it.
  • I was able to review Warrior of the Wild and The Red Queen (Wonderland university) caught up on reviews for now.
  • Awakened is my next read since I need to read 3 books from that author for the Reading Assignment Challenge. She has lots of quick reads so I am hoping to be done with the one today
  • Nightbook is my TBR Winner, I will be starting that one next.
  • Love my proper romance, A Song for the Stars looks so good and emotional, I am looking forward to read it. Review post will be next month for that with the tour.

What I am watching:

I watched a few episodes of 90210 this week. I think next week I will be starting either Gotham or the Magicians.

What I am playing:

Minecraft totally decided to need a fix of those crazy creepers. I build myself a nice house and now forging for stuff. Just wish the villagers would stay out of my house and stop staring at me through my windows. It’s been a long time since I played but I just felt like playing and it was fun!

  1. Sorry about the sinus infection, I hope you’re feeling better now. Glad to hear you’re doing better this week besides the one set back. Giving up on Facebook for a bit sounds like a good idea, it can really be a time drain, but I do like it. I just need to try and limit my time there. It does sound like you had a good reading and blogging week.

The Magicians can get a bit dark and triggering in places, just wanted to warn you. Almost every trigger and issue seems to be crammed in the later half of the season. It starts off pretty good, but by the end I wished we had DNF’d it earlier as we didn’t enjoy the later episodes.

I haven’t played Mindecraft in a while, bu it ‘s a fun game. I am getting in the game mood again lately and I’ve been playing Abzu mostly. Have a great week!

  2. We’re having snowmageddon today, Michelle. Kids got a snow day. Actually most of Colorado did. It sounds like you had a relatively good week and I hope that trend is continuing into this week. Good for you, giving up Facebook. I could do that pretty easily, I think. It’s a time suck for sure. I’m glad you’re getting some good reads in as well. I am too. And I’m two weeks away from heading across the pond to see Lexxie. Omigosh! I can’t believe it’s almost time!
    Miss you, girlie! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

  3. Do we need sinuses? Mine were haywire from the weather flitting up and down the pressure gauge, too. Yay for working on Blog Ahead and enjoying your books for this week. Song of the Heart looks good. Glad you picked up some great design work, too.
    Good Lent choices.

    Have a good week, Michelle!

    • Not as productive as I wanted it to be but I was able to hang with the kids and I will take that as an awesome weekend! 🙂
I have time to get my blogging stuff done, I am currently two weeks ahead so that is a plus for sure.

  4. My sinuses hate me too. Its miserable. Good luck with your Lenten promise. I don’t give something up, but instead focus on doing something to improve myself. So, this year, my goal is to be less judgmental of people in my life and be a better wife.

    • I love your goal! That is why I am disconnecting from Facebook and social sites, I want to be more present with the family. Talk more, laugh more and reconnect with my faith. I think a lot of my anxiety comes from not believing in a lot of things and comparing myself to others.
I can’t wait for spring but then it allergy season and right now I just want to cold to go away and I’ll deal with my runny noise and itchy eyes when it happens, just no more cold!!! 🙂

    • We haven’t gotten a good snow. Like I just wanted one good snow with no ice or rain but we get lots of mushy crap. The middle of the country isn’t so luck, they are getting a huge dumping on.
I did go on a few times today but realize that during the week it was nice not to have to check it or anything. I just go on if I get a message or write something in my pre-made cover group. I might start avoiding it once lent is over.

  5. The weather everywhere is very odd. It froze last week and now it’s so warm we had to turn on the air conditioning!

For Lent (I’m Catholic, too) I’m reading Everyone Always and I’m working on trying to love everyone always. Tricky.

I’ve created a linky on my blog for the Sunday Salon and I’ve kept the Facebook group. I hope you will join in and spread the word.

    • Not sure the weather will ever be normal. We are getting warmer weather this week. Upper 40s and 50s which hasn’t been for a while now so it will be a nice change. I can’t wait to open the windows and area out the house. Spring needs to come soon.

That is very tricky, I am working on loving myself first and finding my faith in god again.

I will check it out! 🙂

  6. I need to read warrior of the Wild. And the weather sucks- I’m with ya there. We had freezing rain develop after a super windy day and I’m over ALL the winter stuff.

I hear you on faith- it’s so easy to get sidetracked sometimes. Hope you have a great Lent season.

    Have a super week too!

    • It was really good, I loved it. Also glad I read it soon too instead of waiting. Weather is just wacky and I am worried it wont be normal anymore.

My goal is to get back to going to church because that is something I don’t do. I think it’s also the reason I have fallen so fair way.
