News at Home: In Houston!

This is going to be a super short post because I’m currently in Houston with a good friend for the Kindergarten Teachers of Texas Conference. We left this morning around 11am and have been here in Houston since 3:30pm. We got to meet one of our Kinder idols – Mr. Greg from the Kindergarten Smorgasbord – and tomorrow we have a full day of learning and exhibits. So I’m having a blast but seriously need to get to bed.

So a quick update on this week – it was a LONG week – because I had duty which always sucks and one of my kiddos has decided to emerge as a contender for biggest behavior problem :/ But I’m handling it and I think I have a plan to make next week better. I feel like I’m having a nice chance to reflect this weekend with this conference and I think it’s going to help me have a better week next week.

#FitReaders Update

I had a good FitReaders week!

I’m going to start reporting the most important things I’m tracking right now – exercise/steps (goal daily yoga and at least 6k steps a day), calories (goal within 1000), and protein (goal at least 65g).

Here’s a rundown on my week:
Saturday: 10 min morning yoga, on charger all day, no steps; 890 calories, 66g protein
Sunday: 10 min morning yoga, 4,604 steps; 786 calories, 31g protein
Monday: 10 min morning yoga, 10,107 steps; 532 calories, 60g protein
Tuesday: 10 min morning yoga, 7,410 steps; 966 calories, 66g protein
Wednesday: 10 min morning yoga, 9,457 steps; 463 calories, 33g protein
Thursday: 10 min morning yoga, 6,636 steps; 574 calories, 64g protein
Friday: 10 min morning yoga & 10 min bedtime yoga, 6,609 steps; 711 calories, 80g protein
Days since surgery: 66
Total weight lost since surgery: 53.4 pounds

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

I just finished…

I finally finished Teaching with Love and Logic and really enjoyed it! It was my second read, but the first time I read it, I hadn’t started teaching yet and it just didn’t click for me as well as it did this time.

I also finished listening to One Fell Sweep and super enjoyed it. I REALLY hope there’s more coming soon.

I finished Dead Heat and it was so good that I had a good book high for a while!

Reading Now…

I’m reading The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I LOVE IT! It’s a big one though and I’m afraid I’ll be reading it forever. LOL!

I’m listening to What the Duke Desires by Sabrina Jeffries. I have an author event next week and I’m sitting with her – wanted to have something fresh in mind πŸ™‚

Up Next…

Not a clue LOL

How was your week? What are you Reading?

  1. Hope you’re enjoying the conference and finding it beneficial.
I loved The Problem with Forever – so much! JLA is a go-to author anyway and that one was really a stand-out.
