Super Ahead but Sort of Behind ~ Task It Tuesday!

Task-It-TuesdayWelcome to Task It Tuesday! hosted by the Awesome The Geeky Blogger

What is Task It Tuesday? It is where every week I list a task or tasks that I would like to accomplish on my blog or in Real Life before next Tuesday. It can be big or small but the goal is to get something done that will make my blog/reading life/challenges run smoother, faster, or more efficient and/or get those simple or complex tasks done in my real life.

My Task(s) this week:

I need to organize my blogging and my everyday life. So I thought for my first task this would be somewhat perfect. I have been a bit unorganized and I just recently started organizing myself during Bloggiesta and then just stopped because I thought I was in a good place but I realized I need to do a few more things so my first take will be.

  • Organize my booksย  This task is to be done on my Kindle, Bookshelf, Goodreads and spreadsheet that I recently made. I want to be able to schedule some of the books or at least come up with a solid plan of when I would like to get to them, of course it can change. I also have to still input my Amazon Freebies and purchased books into the spreadsheet.
  • ย Groceries: I have been such a mess when it comes to groceries and setting up my menu for the week, so I would like to spend some time making a menu for the month. This way I can organize my grocery lists and not over buy food I may not use since I will have a list in front of me of that weeks menu.

Tasks completed this week:

This is my first week doing Task it Tuesday but this area will be were I post completed tasks, if they are completed or the progress that I have made from the week before.

  1. Ah! The menus are an excellent way to keep groceries on track. When I make menus I find I spend a whole lot less on groceries. The hard part (which is not exactly hard, but takes a bit of time) is the planning and list making. But it’s worth it.

Now, the book organization is a whole other matter. Eeeeep! I don’t even want to think about trying to organize my Amazon books or even shuffling them to Goodreads or anywhere else. I think I have something like 5000 books there. One thing I still need to do is take my 2013 GR Challenge books and shelve them on BookLikes. That’ll be my next big project.

    • you can plan that for Bloggiesta, that is a big job. I think most of what I am going to do is going to be this week and next weeks task.
In our area our store has a shop at home option so I can do my shopping on line and pick it up at the store so the list is ok for me to make, my problem is the menu. I have a bunch of different palettes in this house and they drive me crazy so my menu options have to please 3 different people. So I am hoping if I plan ahead with the menu then everyone wont be surprised with what I am cooking and complain that they HATE IT! lol it’s like a warning ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This is such a good idea! You should make it a meme, I would sure join it. ๐Ÿ˜€
Good luck on organizing the menu and the books. Menu’s are so helpful to do, they make grocery shopping easier and cheaper when you know exactly what you are eating. helps with sticking to a budget. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Great goals, Michelle. I grocery shop weekly but I do make menus and take a list. I tell my family if it isn’t on the list, I don’t buy it. So if you need it, put it on the list! ๐Ÿ™‚ I also like your book organizing goals. I kinda try to keep a running list on my calendar of books I want to read besides those I’m reading for blog tours, challenges, etc. I also organized my books on my nook but haven’t done my kindle yet. Goodreads would also be a great place for me to organize! Good luck with your goals…I can’t wait to see how you do. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Great goals! I’m too lazy to do an official post – but I’m working on removing all connections between me in real life and me on the blog. Because I want to be a teacher and don’t want to have it all fall apart simply because I like “inappropriate” books!

    Good luck with your goals!
