Tell Me Something Tuesday was hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, but she has (temporarily?) stopped blogging. So a group of us that had been doing posts (Linda from Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell, Karen from For What It’s Worth, Roberta from Offbeat YA, Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About and me) decided to get together, come up with some more topics and keep the meme going.Michelle made us a logo and we’re off and running. For more details, check out this post where I reintroduced the meme.
I can be sporadic, but when I do join in I will always share next week’s topic at the end of the post. So, today is about…
Do you listen to author/book playlists? Do you create your own?
I’m not a big music person, honestly. Before I started listening to audiobooks, when I drove I might have listened to a talk radio show or, more likely, I had silence in the car. And I definitely didn’t listen to music at any other time on my own. So, while I think it’s neat that they do share playlists, I’m not the intended audience.
I do enjoy music, but I’m not into mixing music with reading. I sing along and dance, so not conducive to reading. LOL
I love music, but I generally don’t have it on when I’m reading nowadays. I like to look through authors’ playlists, but I can’t say I’ve ever gone out of my way to listen to one or make my own just for reading. I do have general playlists I’ve made for myself for when I’m in the mood to listen to music. Mostly these days though, my daughter has her music going; and fortunately I like most of it. It’s a good way to stay up on what she’s into. 🙂 Her answer to this question would probably be yes to the question about creating her own reading playlist.
I do very little driving. Mostly drop off and pickups of the grandbabies, but I listen all the time as I do mundane chores, to fall to sleep (thank god for sleep timers)
I enjoy listening to music on the road or while I’m cleaning, but I can’t listen while reading. I don’t really get much out of book playlists. Often if I’m reading and think of a song, its nothing like the ones I see on the tour post playlists.
I do listen to music all the time I am n=on the laptop. When I am blogging I am listening to music and while reading and writing posts as well. I have a Youtube playlist that I listen to that has about 500 songs on it.
I used to listen to author playlists a loooong time ago and there are times when a song makes me think of a book or character – but no, I don’t listen to or make playlists for books.

Same here. I think it’s fun when authors add a playlist for those who are interested in it, but it isn’t me. I do like to listen to music sometimes, but I am not really a big music lover or anything. I also can’t really figure out how to combine the playlist then with reading? I don’t like listening to music while reading and once I finish the book I don’t really have the urge to check out the music then either. Like you I do listen to audiobooks.
I used to listen to author playlists years ago but I’m not super into music anymore, aside from some favorites. I listen more to audiobooks and podcasts these days.
