On & Off the Blog:
Happy August!
I am in a very weird reading mood. The Darker the romance the better. My mood this year seems to switch from Fantasy/SciFi to Dark Romance, spicy reads. I am not complaining because at least I am reading but I feel like I don’t have a solid idea of what I want to read so I just keep bouncing back and forth.
I am making great progress with my courses, this week I will going into my 4th and final week of UI design. I have 4 courses in total each with about 4 weeks worth of classes. I am a little nervous since I really need to find a job soon but I am excited about what I have learned so far and might even jump into another class. I really do wish I had started sooner but I don’t think I was ready yet and right now I feel like I am were I need to be.
As much as I love that my son is working for a couple hours, the driving is making me crazy. From 11:30 to 3, I feel like I am in the car. It’s been very hard to get stuff done but I am hoping this week will be a little better since I have a more solid schedule of what I plan to do.
The weather has been fall like this week and I love it. I know that it will start getting hot again soon but for now I am enjoying the mid to upper 70s with a nice cool breeze and it’s even been low 60s at night.
I am hoping to fill up August with Posts because the best time of year for posting is coming up soon. The last 4 months are always my favorite for fun posts.
Read & Currently Reading:
Read Mexican Gothic with Berls and while it was ok, it wasn’t the best. I wanted to like it more but I just thought the last 4 chapters where really dumb. A Lady of Rooksgrave, I had to DNF. I hated the MC, and while the idea of a manor that is a supernatural brothel is fantastic, I just hated the Main Girl.
Desperate Measures, I will never look at Jafar the same way again *fans self*
What I grabbed:
What I watched:
Sort of watching Sons of Anarchy with my husband but started a new Anime this week called Ghost Hunt and I am loving it. It’s really short so I will probably finish it next week. I have also been watching a Let’s Play on Youtube with James Turner, he is doing a rags to riches with the new Sims Pack, it is hilarious and just so fun to watch.

I can relate to your weird reading mood. I feel like I have switched from thrillers to romance, and now I’m kinda done with romance and I want to switch back to thrillers. I just can’t seem to keep myself happy lol. Congrats on your final week! Hope you do well and find a job soon! I know the struggle, so fingers crossed!
Congrats on doing well on your classes, Michelle! I’m so happy for you that you’ve decided to do them, and that you feel good about it.
I think I need to read about this Jafar… I mean… 😉
I miss you so much! I hope I’ll remember to come to the next book club!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading. {{{BIG HUGS}}}
That’s difficult when you don’t quite know what to read. I hope you can find some dark romances that fit your mood. That’s great your classes are going well and you’re learning new things. I think it makes sense to need to a bit of a break before you could start with the classes and hopefully you can find a good job soon :). The weather has been kinda fall like as well here, I don’t mind too much as at least it’s not super hot. I can’t stand the heat.
Sorry to hear about the DNF, I DNF’d a book for the exact same reason this week as I couldn’t stand the main female character. It really makes it hard to enjoy a book when that happens. This Poison Heart looks good, I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts about that one.
I hope you’ll have a great week!
I’m glad reading is going well. I used to take my daughter to college and either I would stay in the car listening to audio and / or knitting, or I would run errands getting groceries, or whatever. It isn’t easy though. Now we live only 2 miles from campus but she is doing all online again this fall.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Jafar from the Wicked Villains series is HAWT! 😍
Hopefully the schedule will smooth out for you between son’s job and classes for you. A Jafar story? I must check that out. Enjoy your cool fall weather, Michelle!
Bummer that A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor didn’t work out for you! Esther is definitely a different kind of heroine, but I enjoyed her!
And I’m totally jealous of your fall weather! The news just announced three more weeks of 100+ weather and it is nasty!
Reading is reading, I have noticed my mood in books has changed a little bit this year. It happens. 🙂 Glad things are going well with your classes and that Ryan’s job is going well.
Have a great week and happy reading!
