Week in READview:
Off the Blog:
So I wasn’t going to post this weekend since I said every other Sunday last week, but I totally forgot I wont be around next weekend. My daughter is having an in person cheer comp in PA. I am excited for her but nervous as hell to be around people. I will have been fully vaccinated by then and also will be almost at my two weeks after the shot stage but we still plan to keep a low profile while we are there. We are leaving on Saturday and returning on Monday, it’s about a 2 hour ride so it wont be too bad and a change of scenery will be nice.
This also turned out to be a busy week. I got my second shot on Tuesday, Yay! During the night I was getting Migraine type headaches and my arm hurt so bad, it went from my neck to my elbow. I also felt like I got hit by a bus. So Wednesday was pretty much the day I tried not to move and just rest. Thursday, I still had a little pain in my arm but over all, I felt great. I was pretty happy and feel so much better now about going out to a store or on any other errand.
The rest of the week was just busy doing design work and cheer practice. I am so looking forward to this weekend but I have to clean the house and I hate cleaning.
Blog:
I am about a week and a half ahead on post. I want to get another week done so when I get back from PA I wont be scrambling to get my posts done. I also am trying out a few new post, last Friday I had my first discussion post in a long time and next Friday I am going to do another type of discussion post. I have so many fun Ideas, I am excited I am able to start sharing them.
Read & Currently Reading:
What I grabbed:
I gave myself a reward for getting my shot. That’s what I told myself when I was purchasing Malice and The Mary Shelley Club 😉
Willa was a complete surprise by Disney Hyperion and a book that I have been wanting to read. I read all of his Serafina books (except the last one, but I have it) I didn’t read the first Willa but Dark Hollow is a “stand alone” but of course I didn’t tell my husband that so I bought the first one anyway because I really would prefer to read them both in order of when they came out. Willa of Dark Hollow comes out in May. So excited!
What I watched:
Still watching My Hero Academia with my daughter. I can’t even express how much I love this anime. The characters are just amazing I love them all. I also finished Deadly Decades: The 90’s. I am hoping they come out with more. Still think I will jump into Wynona Earp but just the first season.

Glad you got your second jab! Sucks about the side-effects but at least they were short lived. Hopefully you’re having a good week and the cheer event goes well for your daughter!
The cover for Malice is freaking AWESOME!
Great idea to treat yourself with some books! I hope the travel goes well and is enjoyable.
Yay for second dose! I just got my first dose. My state finally opened it up to anyone 16+ on Thursday so I hopped on making an appointment right away. All I have is shoulder pain, they kinda adminstered it higher on the arm than any other vaccine I’ve ever gotten so that’s annoying. I’m nervous for my second shot because nearly everyone feels like you did after! I’m glad you feel better now though!
I get my 2nd shot Friday and I’m a little worried about the side effects but I plan on stocking up on meds and snacks and I can stay in bed all weekend if I want so it’ll be fine. I’d much rather have a short lived cold type side effect then Covid! My brother-in-law had it at the beginning of December and still really has no sense of taste or smell. Good luck with the cheer competition! It sounds like lots of fun but the crowd situation is definitely a bit overwhelming. Will judged a car show last month for a fundraiser (outside and distanced) and it took us all a bit to get used to being around people again. Have a great week!
Ooh good luck with the camp! I’m the same way- I’m anxious to get out but then when I’m around people I’m like should I be doing this lol? But I think it is getting safer with vaccinations and whatnot…
Looking forward to your discussion posts. I miss those. Seems like you don’t see them nearly as much in the blogosphere anymore…
Yes even with the second dose I am wary about going out too much. But I have been scheduling long put off medical appts. It’s nice to be ahead a bit. I hope you have fun on your trip!

Doctor appoints for sure I will feel better doing, I have a few I need to make after the two weeks.
Yay for your 2nd dose of the vaccine! That is great!
🙂
I hate cleaning too.
Enjoy your new books.
I hope the cheer comp goes well.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you! 🙂
The Mary Shelley Club, YAY! I really want to buy myself a hardcopy of it because I loved it so so so so much. 😀
I have been eyeing it for a couple weeks and I couldn’t resist. Perfect change to grab it as a gift to myself! 🙂
Hope her competition goes well next week. Glad you were able to get your vaccination, I am still on the fence about it and not in a hurry to get it. I think getting some books was a great reward especially since your arm hurt so bad afterwards! Hope you enjoy them!! I am really curious about the Mary Shelley one!
Have a great week and happy reading!

Thanks. I am sorry you are still on the fence, I have been following a lot of people that did the trials of the vaccine, figure I would rather have a side effect from a shot than actual COVID, I just know a lot more people that have passed from it or have scary long term effects.
I will let you know about Merry Shelley, I am excited to read it. It really sounds so good. It might be next.
