Real life & Blogging:

Soooo…my Aunt passed away and since my cousin is a complete asshole we didn’t find out until a week after she passed. How fucked up is that? My aunt had three kids and two of them are fighting with the only nice one. Guess what….They didn’t tell him either. So his mom passed and they didn’t tell him. Could you believe someone could be that heartless. Oh and in the obituary…they left his name out. Like WTF. However, everyone that nows him will feel more for him than the other two so basically they made themselves look like complete assholes. I never thought people could actually do that and I was totally proven wrong…. I am so over this year.

The weather was stupid hot but the weekend turned out gorgeous. The morning had the most amazing breeze, a fall breeze, I can’t wait for fall. I am counting down the days until the weather doesn’t make me sweat.

I have opted to keep my kids home for the fall. I feel the virus was not handled properly and don’t want to put my family, my friends or teachers at risk, so I will keep both of my kids home until December. In December, I will reevaluate my decision and consider sending them back in Jan however I have no problem keeping them home. Our Town allows kids to return to school at any point but it is a 3 weeks transition period. I am still waiting for more info on my sons school but with kids like him, he will not do well if he doesn’t have a solid schedule. He did awesome at the end of last school year at home so I have a feeling he will do great.

Kitten picture….Poppy Von Schweetz is officially here a month and good gravy is she a handful but hilarious. She found these little balls with like glitter strands in them in the toy bin and she is loves them. She walks around the house with them in her mouth and if you try and take them away she growls. lol If you throw them she fetches it, she fetches better than the dog. I wanted a house of chaos and with her, we have one. lol

I plan to spend most of today blogging and getting some stuff organized. This weekend has been busy getting stuff cleaned in the house. I am looking forward to a nice productive day.

Books:

I am still currently reading Ghostland and it’s not bad but it’s taking forever to get through. I am enjoying it but notice a lot of information really wasn’t needed. After I am done I plan to jump into a few review books I received from Shadow Mountain publishing since I am in the mood for some romantic clean reads. 🙂

Reading:

What I grabbed:

I loved Laura Lam’s Goldilock and I love the sound of Seven Devils plus that cover.

It came from the Sky looked like such a cute book, I am looking forward to this one also. I really just can’t stop buying books. I really not sorry either. lol Books make me so happy! I need happy since this year sucks! 🙂

  1. I’m so sorry about your aunt. It’s crazy how even family can be so heartless. A similar thing happened to my mom when her mother died…it’s so sad family can do that to each other.

It has been super hot where I live too. We’ve had the AC running basically all day and night because the second we turn it off, it gets so stuffy! I hope you have a better week <3

  2. I am so very sorry for your loss. What a terrible way to find out. No one should have to endure that.

Your cat is absolutely adorable! Give her some extra love from me!

I hope you have a better week!

  3. I’m sorry to hear about your aunt! And you never know with families. I love mine but there are things I’ve learned about certain family members, and you just wonder sometimes!

I agree with you about school, I’m doing the same thing with mine. Sending them back right now seems crazy.

Your cat looks super cute and she sounds fun too. I have a cat who loves to fetch as well, it’s hilarious. Who knew cats did that better than dogs sometimes haha?

I’m ready for fall too BIG TIME!!

    • Thank you. Family sometimes sucks and those people 100% suck.
I don’t feel even a little comfortable sending them. Knowing I had the option made it easier.
She is that best. I hope she doesn’t lose that as she gets old. She is a lot of fun and so funny.

  4. Wow Michelle, your cousins are awesome huh? Geez this year, the year that keeps on giving. I’m so sorry for your family. Hugs!

I think you’re making the absolute best decision in this host of crappy options, keeping Ryan and Julia home. I think it will be more stable for Ryan too – school seems so uncertain that I think it would be hard to give him the routine he needs.

Good luck blogging! We’re getting there! Hugs! Miss you xoxo

  5. Your kitten is adorable! Are the older kitties getting along with her?

I think you made the right decision about keeping your kids home this fall. It certainly minimized the risk to them, and to your family as a whole. And you may find that your son continues to do better learning at home. We found that Robin was more relaxed and happy when we were homeschooling. School is stressful for some kids.

I can’t believe — well, yes, I can, but I can’t fathom it — that your cousins would neglect to tell the family, including their own sibling, about their mom’s death. I’m so sorry, both for your loss, and for the stress the drama and infighting put on you and the extended family. I pray that you will all find comfort and peace, and the parties involved will be able to reconcile.

    • The older kittens find her annoying and they let her know once in a while but otherwise they are doing good. I am proud of those two.

I wish I could homeschool them but since I am not feeling comfortable sending them back and there is an option I am picking the one I feel more comfortable with.

I really am just done with them all. I can’t even find a way that would redeem what she did. I have my memories and no one can take that away from me.

  6. I’m sorry about your aunt. Wow. Every time I hear something crazy awful about this year I think there can’t be anything worse and then more shit happens. Somebody needs to care about kindness and decency, not just themselves. Yes we are continuing to stay at home. My daughter wouldn’t even choose hybrid classes. I’m glad she can manage her schoolwork herself though.

    • I thought the same things. I was floored when my mom told me. They are just bitter people and I feel bad for them.
I was never picking hybrid, I am thankful my kids are old enough to do the work themselves and are able to do well from home. The uncertain schedule would be too much for my son. This is just better and makes me feel less anxious.

  7. I’m so sorry your cousins are such jerks. What a horrible thing to do.
I’m glad you were able to make a choice that works well for your kids! As a teacher, I can tell you that even though we try to social distance and sanitize all the time, there are a lot of kids in small spaces. I think its a matter of time before there is an outbreak.
    Poppy is too cute!

  8. Wow. That is really messed up. You’d think when there’s a death in the family, you can put petty squabbling aside and at least be decent to each other. I mean, to not even know your parent passed? That’s nuts. I hope your kids do well with their new school year. My sister’s school and my niece’s are open and they’re going back. I’m hoping there’s a good set of precautions in place for them.

Nice new reads too! All new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all! Stay safe! <3
