Week in READview:

Real life:

Useless human week 2. So last week I pretty much went to work, sat uncomfortable for 6.5 hours and came home and didn’t move until I went to bed. It was a rough week. My back spasms were so bad by Tuesday things started to get better but I would get tired very easy and the pain was just uncomfortable. By Thursday I stopped all meds and believe it or not started taking Two Shots of Whiskey which helps relax your muscles and that actually worked. By Saturday I was able to get a bunch of stuff done since we are leave for Florida on the 19th (I also didn’t need the whiskey anymore). So today I plan to visit as much as possible, finish up whatever I couldn’t do during the week and then I will be MIA starting Monday instead of Thursday like I planned. This pinched nerve has put me so behind I am in a mad dash to get everything done in 3 days.

Dexter is going to my aunt (his favorite person ever) on Wednesday and the kittens will stay at home with two babysitters. One is a animal control officer (she carries a gun and she is fantastic) and she will care for them in the morning, the other is a friend’s daughter that will check in at night, plus our neighbor downstairs so the house and the kittens are covered. 🙂 I know I am going to cry because I am going to miss these faces.

If you want to see pictures of our trip, you are welcome to follow me on instagram. Just search @Limabean74 🙂 I will miss everyones Sunday Posts (I am taking my laptop so I might be able to stop in but I promised myself I would relax). I know I am not around a lot lately but we have had a lot going on in our personal life that I haven’t shared and most likely will not BUT….things are FINALLY getting to a very good place (which is why I wont mention is but also don’t want to jinx it) So once vacation is over, I will be more present on the blog and in the blogging community. I am looking forward to interacting with everyone again. Plus COYER starts up again soon. I’ll explain that below.

Blogging & Reading:

Today I am going to work on a few posts so that when I get back I wont have to rush to get anything done. I also plan to spend a lot of time reading while I am away and going to try and write a few reviews. My main goal for this vacation is to relax but I also want to see if relaxing will help clear my head and get those ideas flowing.

I made a post this week about the books I plan to take with me. I did it guys, I broke down and got it.

I am taking this baby with me, my plan is to read, The Gutter Prayer, maybe a Madison Faye book and end the week with this baby. I am so in love with the idea of having this book in a physical format and being able to feel this epic fantasy in my hands (I have the ebook too) 🙂

I am feeling really good about reading and blogging right now and I am hoping it sticks. I am feeling very disconnected with the book blogging community and I am not sure what is going on and why all of a sudden it seem like all the bloggers I love are either fazing out, taking long breaks or stopping completely. This is one reason why I love the Sunday post. I feel like this is just where all my people are at.

The Can you Read a series in a Month Challenge Sign Up is still live and you still have time to sign up.

CanyoureadaKickoff

I hope you will join us it is such a fun challenge.

COYER Treasure Hunt sign ups will start on May 5th or 6th, not sure the exact date yet since we have to finalize all the details but need to do that once I get back from vacation.

Were you a fan of Bloggiesta? We might have something planned in the fall that will get us all back to organizing our blogging, reading and books. Details to come.

Books

(Read, Currently Reading & Next)

I am currently reading the book that won the TBR list meme. Otherwise no more books will be starting until I am officially on vacation! 🙂

What I grabbed:

I went to Barnes and Noble unsupervised and since that book was not cheap I only grabbed one book but I did also get a cute mini light and that amazing canvas bag. That will be my Florida Beach Bag. 🙂

  1. I hope your vacation is wonderful and that you really relax! That’s so funny about the whiskey. Sounds like it definitely did the trick. I’ll have to remember that next time I have any kind of muscle pain. I’ve taken Benadryl before with the same logic but whiskey sounds much more fun. I hope you have a wonderful vacation and are having a wonderful week!

  2. Have a great vacation!
We’re going away in October and am already worried about who will watch our senior dog and how well they will take care of him. Thankfully, I think my in-laws will be able to, but I worry about him on the steps at their house and they are not as careful as they should be with his food.

  3. I seem to be the only one who isn’t going on vacation to Florida these days. That big book looks like one my husband would love. I’ll have to ask him if he has ever read it. I hope you have a great vacation and your back pain stays far away. There is an awesome YouTube channel with a couple of PT guys who give tips on how to relieve the pain of a pinched nerve. Bob and Brad. I had a pinched nerve in my neck and these stretches really helped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WrqTD33nDM&t=88s Hopefully this comment doesn’t read as spam with this link. Ha!

  4. I do hope your back is feeling much better. Don’t over do it though! It’s so hard to leave the kitties behind, isn’t it? We have a vacation coming up this summer and I have a petsitter coming to visit twice a day. I worry about them still though. This is the longest we’ll be gone from them. 🙁 I hope you have an amazing time! I hope you have a great week, Michelle!

  5. Hopefully you still can have whiskey in Florida, even if you don’t need it. 🙂

Sunday posts seem to be where the book blogging world meets anymore, a la how I’m meeting you. Nice to meet you, by the way.

  6. Sounds like this vacation is coming at a great time. Glad the kink is slowly working out and hopefully won’t interfere with your fun. Looks like you have all your fur babies settled nicely.
Ha, don’t blame you for that one last purchase.

    Enjoy your break, Michelle!

    • Not 100% but better than it was, trying to take things slow so I don’t make it hurt again but I have so much to do.
I am so excited about doing and the drive will be so interesting, I will make sure to update as often as possible lol it will be one adventure that is for sure.
I am going to miss my babies but they really are in good hands.

  7. I hope your vacation is refreshing and that you return recharged. I am also headed on a little vacation next week; I’m going to the library conference!

I’ve been blogging for almost eleven years, and I’ve seen bloggers come and go. Some get discouraged by blog traffic. Others try to do too much and burn out. Some just aren’t big readers and soon find they don’t have much to say! I hope you will continue to find your happiness in the blogging world. I do think a lot of my happiness comes with the connections I’ve found here.

I’d love to have you link up at Sunday Salon. I’ve taken over as moderator, and I hope to build it back up to where it once was. It was the first meme I ever participated in, and I met so many bloggers through it. The linkup will be posted each Saturday on my blog, and it will stay up all week.

    • I have some pretty good anxiety so I know that I have it slightly under control but I am hoping this will be the break I need to get me back to being a little more like myself.

Just feel like everyone makes it like such a chore to do it and at this point I guess if you don’t enjoy something you probably shouldn’t be doing it, why do something you don’t like. I actually like it so much and it makes me crazy because I just don’t have the time or energy to get the stuff I want to get done because of all the other stuff I have to do which I don’t like but can’t not do! lol

The Sunday Post really has the best people! 🙂

  8. Hope you have an awesomely relaxing, amazingsauce vacation Michelle and yay for Florida! And I laughed so hard that whisky did the trip, but… it’s whisky? Why not???
