Week in READview:

Real life:

So I posted a couple weeks ago about why I have been MIA. Things have started to settle down around here (besides a pandemic) My dad is still in the hospital, he is having a hard time and is just recovering very slowly. His memory is a little off and has us very worried. I haven’t seen him since March 14th. I just really miss him.

I GOT A SPOT AT SHOP AT HOME! I was so excited. It has been weeks since we were able to get a spot. They even had everything we needed. I was so relieved because it was the first time we didn’t have to go into the store. My husband did run to the local butcher and got us a bunch of meat which we needed. Overall Saturday was an awesome day and at this point I will take these little victories in a time of craziness.

Blogging & Reading:

So the blog has been quiet for a few months and let me tell you why. In Jan the blog started running super slow and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. My host and I did a bunch of stuff trying to figure it out, he even changed my server twice with no success. Last weekend we finally figured we would turn off ALL plug-in since I had turned most of them off. The only one I was scared to remove was the Blogger to WordPress….guess which one was the issue. Blogger to WordPress, as soon as I turned it off, the blog now runs perfect. After 4 months, we finally figured it out and I can get back to my regularly scheduled blogging. Which I plan to do this weekend.

Reading has been going ok, I did the 24 hour Read-a-thon and was able to finish one book and I have been reading, playing the sims and listening to podcast, as well as binge watching Degrassi: The Next Generation. I really do think that quarantine is my lifestyle, I do go outside but I am totally ok with staying home. lol

I plan to get back to doing the Sunday Post at least when I know I have stuff to share. If I don’t I might skip it but for now I plan to come back once a week. I really did miss you all!!! I have a lot to catch up on. 🙂

  1. Well I’m super behind visiting and what a difference a week can make, huh? Sending you lots of love and hugs! Oh and I am so not a quarantine person. I wonder if I would be if we didn’t have Dante, since I could just work, read, blog, watch TV, work out and sleep. It would be easier, but I still don’t think it would be my cup of tea.

Love you friend!! So many hugs!

  2. Hope you get to see your Dad soon, as that is so hard. Glad you got the blog sorted, I have that plugin too, but haven’t noticed any speed issues, but will keep it in mind if they do happen. And Degrassi…that brings back memories for me! Haven’t watched Next Generation though.

  3. I am sorry about your dad, not being able to see him must be awful. Sending all best wishes your way and his as well. hang in there! And glad t hear about Shop at Home! That sounds good. I’ve thought about trying to do something like that- it’s nerve wracking going to the stores. Little victories for sure. the world is crazy right now.

Glad the blog thing got figured out!

I’m kind of okay with quarantine too lol. It doesn’t both me as much as it does some people. Take care and be well this week.

  4. I’m sorry about what’s happening with your dad. I hope he recovers enough to be released from the hospital soon.
I’m with you on the food delivery slots! I have a click and collect booked for this week and a delivery slot for 30th May and I’m super happy! It’s definitely the little things that keep us sane at the moment.

Miracle Creek Christmas is one I grabbed too! Looking forward to adding it to the festive reading pile later in the year.

  5. I hope your dad continues to improve and has a good recovery. I can only imagine how scary this must be for you all. I am glad your blog issues have been resolved. That must be such a relief.

I am loving that cover for Kingdom of Back! Ooo! A holiday romance! All your new books sound good. I hope you enjoy them all.

I hope you have a good week, Michelle. Sending prayers for your dad.

  6. Glad you back! Sorry to hear about your dad. I can’t imagine going through all that during a pandemic. Hopefully he gets better soon. Memory problems scare the tar out of me. So frightening!
I wouldn’t have thought to check that plug in either! Interesting that it was the one causing the issues!! Did you use it because you migrated from blogger to WP?

  7. oh I hate technical problems I can’t figure out. I don’t even know what that plugin is. But I’m glad you’re back and it will be better for you now. It is SO darn exciting when you get something you need these days. I have been extremely fortunate with shopping services and Walmart pickup. I have always done a monthly Amazon order and so those things have kept coming mostly. No pasta and no wipes.

Thank you for doing the COYER and the ReadaSeries challenges to keep us having fun and connected. You are the best!

Take care, be kind and sensible.

    • I hate them when they take so long to figure out. Since I was on blogger first I needed that plugin to transfer my stuff over here to wordpress but now after 3 years I don’t really need it anymore and that was for sure the issue.

Things are getting a little better with groceries, So I am hoping the next few weeks it will get better.

  8. I missed you!!!!! So glad you figured out what was wrong with your blog so you can post more now!!!!! *HUGS* I was so excited to see your post today…lol. You have gotten a nice selection of books! 🙂 I haven’t ever tried shopping online and picking up I am sure it beats wearing a mask…blah.

    Stay safe an happy reading!
