Week in READ-view and The Sunday Post 1/5

Posted January 5, 2014 by Michelle in WIReadview / 25 Comments

Week in READ-view is a post I have posted every Sunday telling what have I been up to during the week and I thought it would be great to link it with The Sunday Post….The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the  Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

10 degrees & 8 inches of snow outside, I haven’t slept in 5 days and I need to stop eating like crap which is why I feel like crap and haven’t slept in 5 days. On Thursday I thought it was Monday and today (Saturday) I keep thinking its Sunday. I feel like I am completely losing my mind. So I figured this weekend the best thing to do is; do nothing, drink wine and read books..fingers crossed by the real Monday this little bit of insanity will be over and I will be back to normal (or as normal as I can be which usually isn’t much).

I redesigned my blog not sure if anyone remembers the old design or not but it was a little to floral and pastel for me (my daughter helped me do it) so its a New year and a New Look that fits me better 🙂

Books

Not a good book week 🙁

This week I FINALLY finished Sea of Shadows after 2 weeks (longest I ever read a book in a while) and I still don’t know if I like it or not. I have very mixed feeling about it. 3.5 stars (which isn’t to bad)

I am now reading Chasing Forever Down by Nikki Godwin
Adore this author and absolutely love everything she does really excited about getting into this book
Next is Ratgirl and then Eversea Series

I didn’t get any book this week but I did get this in the mail.
12×16.5 Poster

ITS GORGEOUS!!!! I can’t even explain how breath taking it is in person

I can’t thank Selina Fenech and Berls from Fantasy is more fun enough for the surprise, it’s my favorite picture from the book Memory’s Wake! Love it 🙂
It’s a very light blog week as I get out of the holiday laziness and start going over the tours/blitzes that I want to join. I want to keep the reviews tours lighter this year but I do enjoy the promo blitz posts. I love introducing new books 🙂

What else is going on?

New Years Eve we had our Annual New Years Eve Hoopla and as always we had a lot of food.

I took all my Christmas decorations down and I have to say the house feels lighter, as much as I LOVE Christmas it always seems like a overload to my senses with all the stuff in the house. Now it’s back to all the good stuff of blogging, work, kids stuff and school. I will be going back for one more class and that’s to learn all the ins and outs of WordPress. I heard this is a FANTASTIC class and for what I want to do this is a must take. I can’t wait for it. It starts in April for 4 weeks going to sign up this week.

I have this mentioned in Monday or Tuesday’s 2014 post about all the new stuff coming up this year but if you look at the top tabs I added a tab called Limabean Design. I still have a lot of details to work out but I am going to start offering designs for blogger logos (meme’s, features, posts, etc) Headers, FB Cover photos and Twitter photos. I really want to do Blog designs but I am not at that point yet. I am hoping that if you are looking for anything you will remember me. I just have to work out some stuff but if you are interested now send me an email limabean74@aol.com and we can work something out 🙂

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Let’s Chat…

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. I hope you're finally getting some sleep – insomnia is never fun. I have to admit I LOL at your day confusion because I still can't keep my days straight! Without school and being so out of pocket at the moment, time is all screwy for me.

I'm so glad you loved the poster and just sorry it took so long to get to you! Oh and we need to shout from the roof tops about your new

    • Thank you! So far with my business idea you are my biggest fan and I can't thank you enough for the inspiration and moving me forward with doing it. I am going to post a few of the logo's I made you on the tab and all the stuff I already made. You need to see the 3 I did on the 2014 post (posted today)

  2. That is so awesome you found a WordPress class!!! I'm doing one right now and I love it!! I totally geek off on that kind of stuff and it's just a hobby for me!! Your business is going to be great!!!!

And I totally feel ya on eating crappily and not sleeping. Well, okay, I do get some sleep but I ate so poorly over Christmas I've been dragging for a few weeks. I'

    • I have to make sure I can get the time off to take the class. I have to leave work an hour and a half early, I don't see it being a problem but you never know. I heard such great things about it. Don't want to pass it up.

I can't wait to go back to eating normal and cooking myself. Losing weight for me is a must. I gained so much when I quit smoking . So all the bad eating

  3. Oh no! I am sad to hear that Sea of Shadows wasn't awesome. I feel like everyone got a galley of that book. The cover is so pretty, I was hoping that the book would be epic.

    • So bad I wanted it to be epic and maybe some people will think so, I however did not, was really bummed. It has so much potential hoping the next one in the series is better

  4. Nice blog design, it looks good. We have a bunch of snow too and more on the way. Yay (not really).

Nice pics of your New Years Eve party.

    • Thank you!
Today we have a nice Ice storm and everything is frozen over so I actually would be happy to have snow instead 😉

The food was very yummy and I was stuffed lol

    • The light are nice 🙂 My daughter has a loft bed and I put some underneath so she can sit under and play. It's a nice glow with the light off 🙂 something about christmas lights is relaxing,,,maybe the softness of them

  5. I also didn't read a lot the past few weeks. I am sorry to hear it wasn't a good book week for you :(. I just finished my first book of the year a few days ago and gave it 2 stars, not the best way to start the new year.
    That poster is beautifull!

And how exciting you are going to design logo's and such for bloggers now! I am curious to see some of your work!

    • No not at all. I am hoping to have a good book year but you never know 🙂

Thank you I have been designing for 18 years and I thought it would be nice to offer. I will have samples on the tab page but I did the Week in READ-view logo and my logo for My To-Be REad list, I also did my header and the COYER logo. I did two logos for Berls at Fantasy is more fun. Hoping to get some more in

  6. Bea

It's easy to get mixed up the days but it sure is disorienting. I don't remember the old design but I like this one. good luck with your design business.

  7. Looks like you had a great week. Aside from being mixed up about the days. I had that problem some too. Congrats on the new blog design too. It looks good! I've still got to read some Kelley Armstrong. She's been on my TBR for FOREVER!
