Week In READ-view & The Sunday Post 1/12/14

Week in READ-view is a post I have posted every Sunday telling what have I been up to during the week and I thought it would be great to link it with The Sunday Post….The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the  Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Books and Blogging

I am still in a slacker mood and now I am starting to not like my lack of getting my blog in order. That break over the holidays really put me in a strange slump and I am hoping to some how get out of it. Can I blame unhealthy eating because so far I believe that has been my problem the last couple of weeks lol. I went shopping today and got a lot of healthy foods so lets see if that helps. (it’s probably more because I was just so lazy that week I can’t get out of it) 🙂

I didn’t read a lot this week –

I read Chasing Forever Down by Nikki Godwin for a blog tour on the 17th and OMG I can’t even explain how much I loved this book. It is very hard to make me cry and she totally MADE ME CRY. Her characters are fantastic and I can’t get enough of how much I love her writing style. She is fantastic and one of my favorite authors.

I am almost finished Beta Reading a Re-write for Deer in Headlights for Staci Hart. It’s my first Beta Read and it’s interesting to do. I just am not sure I am the right person for it, however, I must say I am loving the re-write.
Once I am done its back to the three I have been saying for the last 3 weeks
(feel so bad I keep pushing them back)

In a week IT’S BACK!!! COYER, I am so excited.
I had so much fun last time!!! Sign Up begins on Jan 20th…YAY!!!

What else is going on?

Well I signed up for my last class, it will be in April and May for 4 weeks, I had to re-adjust my schedule at work since class starts at 2 and I work till 2:30. I am going to take a WordPress class and I heard nothing but good things about it and for what I want to do, it’s perfect!!! Soon I can switch and then I can help others design websites or help them move from blogger. I am very excited about it.

The rest of my week was rather normal. I’m not sure if I ever mentions that the week of Xmas my daughter (who is 6) tripped and sprained her ankle. On Xmas Eve we had to take her to the ER because we didn’t realize she sprained it but she woke up and looked awful, poor thing, plus it was so swollen, we didn’t think she could wait till after Xmas so my husband took her. She had to wear an air cast and an ace bandage. She has been wearing the air case while she was off from school but since it’s been snowing and school is back I had to make her just wear the Ace Bandage since she can’t walk around in a slipper with it wet outside. I feel like this is why she is not getting better faster. I had hoped she would be cleared in a couple of weeks but we went to the doctor this week and he said she has to wait two more weeks to see if she can go back to regular activities. Which means she is missing her dance class and she is super bummed about it. We sat in on the class on Saturday just so she can watch. I have my fingers crossed she can go back on the 25th. Her next appointment is on the 21st of Jan. So if you can cross your fingers and toes (just not your eyes it will give you a headache) she is better by then 🙂

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Let’s Chat…

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. I am so jealous of your wordpress class! I want to make the move to wordpress too. I look forward to hearing how the class goes.

  2. I was reading an enjoyable book this week, Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong, but I just couldn't find the time to read it and it took me more than a week to finish it. I hate it when I don't have much time to read.

I have done some beta reads already and I really enjoy beta reading! It's such a unique experience and I love giving comments on a book and actually help the

    • I do like it but I just feel like I'm not making enough comments. The next one I hope to do a lot better.

I hear so many great things about wordpress and I just finished my HTML & CSS class in November so I am good with that, I'm just a nervous wreck about moving and lossing my entire blog.

  3. These are books that I'm not at all familiar with but your excitement over them is contagious! I hope your daughter is doing much better. I have a six year old boy so I know how hard that could be. Anyway, have a great week!

    • I got them for Free on Amazon, I could not pass them up.
Thank she is doing pretty good but it's really hard to make her stop moving lol.

  4. Hope your daughter is feeling better soon. Yes, the long break can make me lazy too for some reason the busier I am the more productive I am. I love the cover of Hyde. Hope your week is splendid!

    • Yes I agree, I guess once the year really kicks in I will get out of my rut 🙂
