Week in READ-view & The Sunday Post 12/22

Week in READ-view is a post I have posted every Sunday telling what have I been up to this week….. and I thought it would be great to link it with The Sunday Post….The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the  Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I am going to apologize now. Next week will be a complete light on my blog because I will be singing Christmas carols and eating Christmas beast (whatever the hell that is). I didn’t schedule that much stuff but I do plan to get my reading on once the craziness of the holiday is over….
but first lets chat books.

Book Blogging

So I finished Powered by Cheyanne Young and OMG I loved it.
The review will be posted with the tour on the 30th
Then I read Reaver by Larissa Ione and OMG I can’t even explain how much I LOVE this series.
She is one of my favorite authors. I just adore her and her characters.
If you haven’t picked up this series yet you MUST.
CURRENTLY READING
Very excited to be starting
Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong
UP NEXT
Eversea by Natasha Boyd since I have the blog tour in Jan
and I am dying to read it. I get to read Forever Jack also which is book #2

I promised myself I would not do anymore blog tours with review until I get caught up with my Netgalley and Edelweiss but I have been a bad girl and signed up for a few, but it’s ok most of them are on my TBR list so it works, I think. It’s not that I don’t like blog tours but I find them rather stressful when it’s a review tour so this next year I promised myself to read only books that are on my TBR list or books that I know and want to read (which I have). I really want to focus more on the books I have on my TBR list or books that I really want to read.

I want to have more reviews on my blog next year instead of all blitz/blog tours. I wanted to ease into this blogging when I started and I think I have done all right for myself, not fantastic, but I am proud of my little blog and what I accomplished this year 🙂 I have meet some amazing people and read some awesome books, so now I want to try and get more reviews each month. I never thought I would like writing them since I am not a good writer (as you can tell) but I really enjoy doing this and hoping to be doing this for a long time.

Books I got this week:
I had two of these on my blog this week but I couldn’t pass up getting Insanity for .99¢

What else is going on?

Can you believe we only have 2 days left till Christmas? I have to say I am way ahead of myself for some reason and that only means I forgot to do something major, because I have never been this calm during Christmas before…It might be all the wine I have been drinking. Either way I am really enjoying the lack of stress.

On Christmas I have my parents, sister and nephew and my husbands family over for a HUGE Christmas dinner. I LOVE to cook, this year the menu is; Antipasto, Turkey, Pot Roast and Eggplant Stacks, Sweet Potatoes, Smashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Peas & Onions, Carrots, Brussels Sprout and Bacon, Cauliflower and Broccoli Rabe. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. It’s so much better to have to cook all that instead of traveling all day to visit different houses. It lets the kids stay home and enjoy all the toys they got from Santa. Santa was very generous this year because she completely lost her mind he completely lost his mind.

I am off this week so it will be nice to stay home with the kids, catch up on some reading and just relax while I put all the toys I mentioned above away. I am going to need a new house for just toys.

I gave my son a list of books I want for Christmas for him and my daughter to get me and I can’t wait to see which ones they picked. I will share what they got next week. 🙂

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
How and where are you celebrating the holidays?

Let’s Chat…

Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Reading

  2. It's making me crazy. I really feel like I am totally forgetting something. I went over my entire list and I can't find it. It just feels really weird lol

  3. My husband and I are going to my Mom's for Christmas, so we have been running around finishing things up before we go. It is really hard to find the time to read this time of year!

    • I know I wont be able to read tomorrow and wednesday but I am going to try and at least finish Sea of Shadows and maybe squeeze one more in!! 🙂

  4. OOh very nice! Very envious that you're read Sea of Shadows! I love Kelley Armstrong and cannot wait to read that one! Have been rejected numerous times with Edelweiss, so I just gave up. Netgalley was a rejection as well. Oh well! Happy Reading!!

  5. That sounds like quite the feast. Can't go wrong with Christmas beast. 🙂 I can't believe Christmas is basically almost here though, wow. Enjoy the holiday and reading!

    • Most beastly thing we are eating is a Roast. I never knew what those Whos in Whoville meant by Christmas Beast I hope it was a roast or turkey and not something weird then again it was whoville so god know what type of animals live there. 🙂

  6. I can't wait to hear what you think of Sea of Shadows, I am so jealous of all those who got an ARC, I am impatiently waiting till the book releases. Kelley Armstrong is such a great author and I love her writing style.
I love the cover of Insanity, I don't why but it really grap my attention.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

    • I was denied for it on Netgalley but got it from Edelweiss I was shocked. Can't say right now how it is I am only a few pages in but I love her also.
Insanity is a fairytale retelling so I could not pass that one up I love my retellings 🙂

  7. Christmas beast? I've never heard of that! I've got to get my hands on some Kelley Armstrong. I can't believe I've never read anything by her. I've been trying to catch up on my review books too, but I know I'm about to get several from Santa too. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
