Week in READ-View – The Sunday Post

Posted November 24, 2013 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 13 Comments

So a good friend (Berls) pointed out to me that my Week in READ-view was very similar to The Sunday Post, which is a meme, sponsored by the awesome Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. Check out the details here. Which is pretty much what my READ-view is about but with a few added additions of my own. Since I spend a lot of time reading the Sunday posts anyway I figured I would merge them together and hop on the meme with all my other fellow bloggers.

 BOOKS & BLOGS

So this week I didn’t do to bad with my reading I had a couple books to read for 2 blog tours so I couldn’t read anything for the Challenge this week 🙁 and one of the two books I read just didn’t happen for me and I had to put it as a DNF. Since it’s for a tour I really can’t mention which one it is since I am still doing an excerpt for it and the tour….so lets move on…. 😉

I read this week

Rewrite Redemption by J.H. Walker

I like this book it was a little long but a wonderful cast of characters and a fantastic story, I will have a review for it on Dec 9th during the tour!
The next book I was going to read and has started was

Dead Jed by Scott Craven

It’s cute but I had to put it aside because I was accepted into a tour I didn’t realize I was doing for I book I planned to read for the Challenge.
Mutilate My Heart by Emily Godwin

I actually was going to read it next after the challenge was over since I didn’t think I was going to get to it for the challenge. Since Dead Jeb’s Review tour is Dec 6th I have enough time to get to it, it’s a quick read and Mutilate My Heart is also a quick read so I should have the review ready for The Blog Tour Post on Friday Nov 29.

 This week on the Blog

I also have a promo tour for Imitation by Heather Hildenbrand
This is also the release day for Sarah J. Pepper’s Death of the Mad Hatter

Saturday – Return of the MY TBR LIST Feature 🙂

Sunday – Week in READ-view ~ Sunday Post

It’s been a while but I picked up these books this week
This was on sale at amazon and I believe it will be until Monday

I got these from Netgalley even though I PROMISED myself I wouldn’t click anything else until I got my ratio up to over 50 but I just couldn’t resist the stories look fantastic.

 What else is going on?

So I think I mentioned recently that I was planning on just trying to get to my TBR list and the rest of My Netgalley reads for the remainder of the year and maybe into a bit of next year. If anyone is looking for reviews you can always try but keep in mind I do have my Author’s Spotlight open and even if I can’t read it I will still be happy to promo it on the blog. You can find all the details HERE.

So my blogaversary is right around the corner if you are interested in donating anything I would be super happy!!! You can find all the details for that HERE.

Now that the challenge is coming to an end I am so sad 🙁 I have had so much fun and found some great new blogs to follow. I have really been more of a stalker then a commenter but I plan to do more commenting in the future. I am a shy girl who runs a blog (strange, yes) so it takes me a while to actually comment but I am getting a little better at it and I love chatting with you all!!!

30 days till Xmas…..did you know that….are you excited?….do you know who is….THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE!!!! I can’t wait to put up my decorations next week and start all the craziness of the holiday. I love it and I love seeing my kids open gifts from Santa it really is my favorite part. I do Christmas dinner for the family I love to cook and I have so many awesome things to make, Plus I love baking with my mom, my daughter finally is loving it too and we are going to start our own tradition Her and I an make our own cookies. Once I get it all figured out I will share my menu and the list of cookies if you are interested 🙂

That week I wont really be around so the blog might be very quiet but I will be back once the holidays are over. I can’t believe I have been doing this almost a year. I LOVE IT! and made so many awesome new friends!

Now I am going to get ready to start dinner and then tonight we have WWE Survivor Series with the kids it’s my favorite kind of Sunday 🙂

Since I just started The Sunday Post and I didn’t have time I also wanted to add the part they include in most of the posts about the blogosphere and chatting about whose blog I visited and whats going on.
I wasn’t able to do that for this week but I will have it for next Sunday. 🙂

So tell me what have you been up to this week?
Let’s Chat…
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

  1. I'm trying to control my NetGalley addiction, too. I want to get my feedback ratio up to 75% or 80%. It's currently 56%. But it's so hard not to click when I see a book that looks interesting!

    • Thats why I didn't post the actual number LOL. I really didn't realize they had them until recently and was like OH NO I need to get that bad boy up higher. I will be doing that also in december. Haven't taken anymore review tours because of it. 🙂

  2. Happy Blogoversary, and I am glad Berls shared the Sunday Post, happy to have you 🙂 I am doing well with NetGalley I am at 94% but my own personal TBR pile..yikes! I host a month long challenge in March called Take Control and it was tons of fun last year. Your line up looks great, we will be decorating for Christmas on Friday. I love baking too, and being the second week of December and make

    • Thank you I am so glad she suggested it.

WOW 94% is awesome. I am hoping to get to that at some point next year. I will be joining your challenge in March that sounds great. I am new to challenges this one I am hosting with Berls is actually the first one I ever participated in but I am loving them. Always thought they were a lot different but I realized how much fun they really are 🙂

  3. My blogoversary is also coming up, I also got some great donations! When is your blogoversary? I am currently also working on getting a lot of netgalley books and review books read before the end of the year, but I just keep accepting more of them, but I did manage to get a dent into my Netgalley to-read pile. I managed to up my ratio to 75% already!

    • Mine is Feb 1st 2014 I have gotten a few donations so excited about it.

My netgalley ratio is climbing just slow. Hoping by the end of the year it will be at 75%.
Didn't realize mine was so low until someone pointed it out!
Awesome job getting yours to 75% thats fantastic!!!
