Week in READ-view & The Sunday Post

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

This week was just a crazy week for me. Our Cat Buttons had surgery on Wednesday for a lump on her tail. While in surgery they found one on her face so they removed that as well. My poor little girl looks so miserable and unhappy at the moment but we think she is recovering nicely…Kind of hard to tell with a cat who is usually grumpy anyway but I am taking very good care of grumpy poopie-pants whether she likes it or not ๐Ÿ™‚

She has stitches on her lip area and has a form of herpes (not contagious) in her eye because of the stress (she has had it since she was a kitten)

Otherwise besides the craziness I did read 3 books and write 3 reviews. YAY! I was also a really good girl about getting new books until I just so happened to go on Netgalley and it SUCKED ME IN!!!! I requested 2 books and was approved for both.***hangs head*** I just couldn’t help myself!

I asked last week about the My To-Be Read List and I thank those that gave feedback. I am going to work out the details and maybe just try it a couple month if not one wants to join than no problem I will just go back to having people vote on mine…it never hurts to try ๐Ÿ™‚

Next week Saturday starts my vacation I might have a WIR & TSPย  but I am not sure yet if I will have time to write it. So if you notice I am MIA don’t forget about me…I’ll be back ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Poor buttons! I hope he is starting to feel better and back to his usual grumpy self soon.

The Whispering Skull looks great. Looking forward to your review to see if I need to add it to my list.

I have forced myself to stay off of NetGalley until I get my ratio up to the 80% mark. It is hard to stay away. ;(

    • The entire series is fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚ My review will be up a couple weeks before the book is released in September.

I am at 40% I plan to read as much as I can from there. Its just hard not to request more.

  2. Poor kitty! I hope she has a speedy recovery for both your sakes.

I tried to be good about NetGalley this week, I really did. But it sucked me in this week, too. I haven’t been approved yet for the three I requested (all from the same publisher, which means I’ll probably get them all at once if I get them at all.) So hey, two isn’t bad – you can read two books in a week! (Just picture me being your cheerleading squad.)

Have a great vacation! And no worries – we’ll be here when you get back!

    • Lol I will remember that when I am reading them. I am so behind hoping to catch up on vacation! Maybe ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you she is getting much better each day!

    • It’s a dangerous place. I just talked myself out of going on tonight since I was already on this morning and told myself to get off

  3. Poor Buttons! It cracks me up that she’s already grumpy, so how can you tell? I know she’s got to be doing great though with you taking care of her.

Did you like BaHumbug? I’ll have to wait for the review for all the details, I guess, but I own it so I’m curious!

So is this weeks My To-Be Read list going to be a meme style one? Because I’m so in. Maybe you need to call me? LOL

  4. Sorry to hear about Buttons, but I’m sure she’s being spoiled rotten. ๐Ÿ™‚ NetGalley is EBIL! Ok, not really, but sometimes it seems that way when I get sucked in. I stayed away this week because I just knew it wouldn’t end well for my TBR or my % over there. ๐Ÿ˜€ Have a great week!

    • My % is at 40 and I just can’t seem to get it over that Lol. I am looking forward to Netgalley November I hope that will help ๐Ÿ™‚ She is totally being spoiled but shes a spoiled brat anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Poor Buttons! They do hate those collars, don\\\’t they? The list that sucks me in is Amazon Vine…I always vow to only pick one or two so that I can read my HUGE stack of purchased books…but alas.Enjoy your week…and …okay, your blog won’t accept my URLs…so find mine on my Serendipity blog. LOL

    • I don’t know why it does that to you and one other person Lol. I even changes a few setting, I think my Askmet thinks its spam when you post the URL. but don’t worry I know who you are ๐Ÿ™‚ I never did Amazon Vine…I think I might need to stay away however ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!!!

  6. I look forward to your review of The Whispering Skull and YES Netgalley is very addicting. I try to only go on and search for books I am already interested in, that way I am not sucked in by the new arrivals. *shakes head* Only works sometimes, and then authors go and announce my book is on netgalley aaaand off I go again! LOL Hope grumpy pants recovers ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I will have the review up closer to it’s release day but it is a fantastic series. Ugh, I use to look for books I only wanted and but the covers are so pretty, stupid Netgalley!! Grumpy pants is looking a lot better today ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. NetGalley is dangerous! I’ve had to set up an elaborate rule system to keep me from requesting too much. IT was getting way out of control but 2 is a nice manageable number. Hope you enjoy them both! Your poor cat! He definitely does look out of sorts. I can’t even imagine how annoyed he must be about that big plastic cone. Hope he heals quickly!

    • Netgalley is very dangerous, I tend to only go on once a week and if I see something only request 2 or 3 but I have been limiting myself to only 1 or 2 the most

      Thank you!

    • The Good Gods series is really good. It has lots of Feels the first one not so much for the rest is a Feels Fest. Hope you Dog Harry is ok! I will keep him in my thoughts!!!

    • My husband gets so mad when I make fun, she was sitting in the living room and really casual I said to him “Pick up the lamp that’s on the floor” he got so mad at me LOL I just can’t help myself. I feel awful that she isn’t feeling well but laughing makings it better ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Glad to hear Buttons came through OK, and hope she recovers quickly! We had a grumpy cat when I was growing up, she would sit on top of the fridge and sometimes swipe at you when you opened it- she was something else! We used to laugh so hard at that…

Have a great vacation! I think Seaborne looks fun, I can totally see wanting to get that one! Actually both look good… ๐Ÿ™‚

Greg recently posted: Sunday Post #54
    • I could use a cat like that to keep me on a diet ๐Ÿ™‚ Lol.
The cover of Seaborne really got me and I have been on a middle grade kick recently and that really looks like a fun read ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Bea

Buttons does look grumpy but she is wearing the cone of shame so….:D

NetGalley gets us every time, doesn’t it? I think getting only 2 books is pretty good actually. ๐Ÿ™‚

Did you like Bah, Humbug? I thought it w2as cute and fluffy.

Bea recently posted: Sunday Book Share #99
    • Lol Every time I say who put the Lamp on the floor my husband yells at me to leave her alone ๐Ÿ™‚

I did like Bah, Humbug, it reminded me of a hallmark movie very cute and fluffy. I even got a little teary eyed. I thought it all happened rather quickly but that’s what usually happens on those movies Lol

  10. I hope Buttons will recover good! She indeed looks a bit grumpy on the picture and that thing around her neck can’t be comfy.
I also requested some Netgalley books this week and got approved, although I am still ding pretty well with my percentage on netgalley, it’s around 70% now.

    Have fun on your vacation!
