Back to Normal and a Rough Week ~ WIR & TSP

Posted February 7, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 24 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

This week was a little rough and we had to call the Children’s Mobile for Ryan to come and talk to him. Children’s Mobile is a state wide organization that helps families with kids or teens in crisis. Those with Suicidal Tendencies or Drug and Alcohol abuse. They will come pretty much anytime you need them and will work very closely with you and the family to get the situation under control. Once again it seems he is having outbursts, they don’t last as long as they used to, but they are still happening. We still think a medication adjustment will help but in the mean time we called Children’s Mobile to see if we can get in home services to come out and get some therapies for him at home. As much as the medicine works I still think a lot of what is going on needs to be addressed without the use of medicine and at some point he needs to learn to control his temper. We don’t want him to end up in the hospital again so we are working very hard to get this addressed early. I am NOT going on hiatus and actually find peace in doing my blog and will most likely stay on track with my plans of getting those posts finished and getting my visits in. My planner is coming along nicely and I am feeling a little less stressed now that I have adjusted my planner to what works for me.

This week I posted something new called “Just a posted note” I thought it would be fun to be able to ask a question or tell you about something that couldn’t wait until the Sunday Post, so every once in a while they will pop up. It was nice to know that a lot of what I was feeling everyone else felt the same way.

This week was also my TBR List voting, If you get a chance please stop by and vote. You don’t have to comment or sign up for anything just pick and vote. You can vote HERE.

Slowly but surely I am getting back to doing my posts, we had a snow storm on Friday that kept the kids home, not a big one maybe 3 inches, however, I worked extra hard to get some stuff done and drafted a bunch of stuff while researching other stuff on Pinterest. Overall it was a sort of productive weekend still don’t have a lot of post scheduled yet. I am hoping to do more stuff today but I have my parents coming over for a Superbowl dinner, I do it every year with them. It’s a nice day with my parents and the kids love having them over.

  1. I’m glad Children’s Mobil provides those services. It must be such a relief to have the extra support and help. I hope they can help out with therapy for Ryan . Even though I sometimes get stressed out with everyday things, I still enjoy my blog, too. It is my hiding place in the world. πŸ™‚

  2. I’ll keep you and your family in my thoughts, Michelle, as you work through these latest developments with Ryan. I have faith that with help, y’all will get it figured out. And I’m glad that blogging is giving you some peace and an outlet.
I want to get back to reading Staci Hart…hopefully next month since it seems like this month’s reading schedule is full!
    Have a great week! <3

  3. I’ve never heard of the Children’s Mobile before, it sounds like a good service and I hope they are able to provide some help for Ryan. It sounds promising to have some hterapie next to the medications to help him.*hugs*

I liked your just a Posted Note post and I hope you’ll do them more often! And I also like the TBR meme and voting on books. How was Find Me? Did you enjoy it? I heard good things about it from Lexie and Brandee. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  4. Michelle, I’m so sorry Ryan is having a tough time again (and thus, the rest of you are, too.) Children’s Mobile sounds like a terrific service; I had no idea that anything like that existed! I hope that things settle down for him soon.

You are so amazing, the way you can keep your blog going and be so organized even at a time when life is rough. I love my blog, too, but sometimes I just can’t keep up when my life is stressful, so I have so much respect for you and what you do. Hugs, my friend!

  5. Last Call looks good. I know what you mean about the blog giving back to you. It is my happy place, and reduces my stress levels. I will be sending positive vibes my way for you and yours.

  6. I wish you lots of luck with Ryan, I went through terrible times with my oldest daughter, who at the age of 12 started all kinds of wild erratic behavior, and cutting herself, drugs, sex.alchol, suicide attempts, disappearing, it was horrible, We did end up sending her to an all girls school , after she came out she was a little wild, but then she had a baby, and that seemed to change some things for her. She refused to take meds, it was all kinds of difficult. So I totally empathize with you and if you need an ear, please feel free to email me. Now on to the books- I just entered a contest to win City of Legend -Love the cover!!
I wrote a post on my blog about Funko Pops, but if you visit my STS, you will see my first one!! And I love Hermione-adorable!!

  7. I hope Ryan gets the help he needs and can eventually be weaned off medicine. {{{posivibes}}} and {{{hugs}}}

I got very little done for the blog this past week, but I have all of Feb ready to go so I’m not too worried. Yet. lol

We’re having friends over for the Super Bowl and we’re having nommies. I actually had to clean yesterday. Now I remember why I like being a hermit. LOL

I hope you have a fantastic week, Michelle!! XO

  8. The youth mobile sounds like angels. So glad you have such wonderful people to help you and your son. Blogging is my lifeline too. It allows me to interact with others and find assurance that we are all in the same boat:)

  9. Sorry to hear about your son’s continuing struggles. I hope everything gets worked out soon. It must be hard as a parent to see your child having such difficulty. I’ll keep you all in my prayers.

    • Thank you Tiffany! It is hard but we try very hard to stay positive, he’s a good kids and I know it will all work out, it just might take a little more time. πŸ™‚

  10. I hope the Children’s Mobile can help Ryan. *hugs* Wow, you read a lot last week, you go girl…lol. πŸ™‚ Hope this week is a better week! Enjoy your superbowl dinner, we don’t do the superbowl…lol. So it’s just a normal day here. πŸ™‚

    • I didn’t realize how much I read until I started doing the post. I am waiting on my next book otherwise I would be finished with that one tomorrow (I already know it’s going to be an I can’t put this down book)

Thanks Stormi! πŸ™‚ We don’t really do it either it’s just an excuse to have my parents over to hang, cook fun food and watch the commercials and the puppy bowl… lol

  11. Hermione is my younger daughter’s favorite character ever πŸ™‚ I hope you and Ryan have all the help you need, it’s a tough situation to go through, fortunately blogging helps thinking about different things… It’s really a good thing that this organization exists, even if it doesn’t stay as long as it used to – sadly, it’s the case everywhere for organizations that necessary. Have fun with you new books and take care <3

    • I was having a hard time finding her now I need Ron πŸ™‚
Thank you, he is a kid with a lot of layers and it is just a matter of working it all out to find just what needs to be done and I think therapy will work. Last time we were in place for long term therapy but it got complicated and they closed us out. I was annoyed.

Blogging, Books and Organizing is what keeps me sane πŸ˜‰

  12. I’m glad you have the youth mobile that can come to your house and talk with Ryan so that he has someone else to talk to besides you and the rest of the family, Michelle! I hope it will help him with his temper, and that medication adjustment will show some results as well.
Good thing the blog is where you get your ‘me’ time, and that you’re not feeling stressed about posting!
    Did you enjoy Find Me??
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • It is a great service and they are really nice and Ryan felt comfortable talking to them and thank goodness he was honest because some kids like him lie and act as if nothing is wrong but Ryan knows things are right and he wants to get better.

Find Me was ok, I thought a lot happened rather quickly.

  13. I hope Ryan is able to get the help he needs. Great big hugs to you. I know it can’t be easy for him or for you and your family. We have a similar mobile service that serves our area too. I wish they were available 24/7, but they don’t have the resources. Maybe someday. Reading is my therapy often times. Blogging not so much, but I say you should do what helps you feel calmer.
Sounds like you had a productive week blog-wise! I hope your week this time around is better.

    • Reading is very comforting and that helps a lot. I think the blogging keeps me busy which is what I need and that is how it helps me.

They are a great service but the after service that I get directed to I had a bad experience with since they cut services to quickly and I knew he wasn’t ready for it to stop. Lets hope this time around is better.

I am trying to be productive I still have a lot to do : )

  14. Yeah my blog is sorta my me time too- you gotta have that, and with the stress going on if it relaxes you then that’s good. I hope things get better quickly! I’m sure there’s ups and downs, hang in there. πŸ™‚

Happy SuperBowl day, hope it’s great! Who ya rootin for?

    • Thanks Greg! I do love my blogging and hoping to use it as a getaway by visiting blogs and catching up. He has his good and bad days.

I am rootin for the Puppy Bowl! I hope the cutest puppy wins πŸ˜‰

  15. I hope Ryan is feeling more settled and that the therapies help. I can understand wanting to work on other issues along with medication changes. The crisis service sounds like a great resource and I’m glad that you’re not giving up blogging for awhile – especially since it helps your peace. With everything going on it gets easy to push ourselves to the back and that’s never a good idea!
I absolutely love the Harry and Hermione! I must not start a new collection…I must not start a new collection… Have a great week!

    • I think this last time the therapies we had ended to quickly so I am hoping that this time around it will stay around longer because he really needs them.

I love Funkos, my kids love that I love them πŸ™‚ They are coming out with a whole new collection of HP figures and I want them all too. The last 3 are getting hard to find and I refuse to pay for than what they are meant to be but I really want Hagrid!

  16. I’m glad you’ve been able to get some help for Ryan early and hope things improve for you.

I can understand what you mean about not taking a break – I find my blog quite cathartic as well and really do miss it when I take time away from it.

    • Thank you, We didn’t think it would happen again after just a year but he is a growing boy and his boy is changing so he just needs some adjustment and patience.

I love my blog even if I am not doing anything I always have the dashboard open so I can check it out lol. It’s just relaxing to me.
