February makes me Lazy ~ WIR & TSP

Posted February 14, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 26 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

So it seems whoever in the universe controls the weather pretty much gave up this weekend because Saturday night it was -3 with a real feel of -10. That to me seem like, not only do I get lazy in February, but the weather gods do too.

This week we celebrated my son’s 11th birthday, I can’t believe he’s 11 already! Saturday we went out to eat with family and of course I made him his birthday wall, if you don’t know what that is I have a wall in my kitchen, that since both kids were born I have decorated as they got other it became more involved this year of course my son wanted something I wasn’t sure I could do but I did my best and I think it came out pretty good πŸ™‚

I am LAZY, like LAAAAAZZZZY and don’t want to do ANYTHING! I always get like this around February, maybe because it’s always so cold, and I would rather cuddle under a blanket and hide rather than do anything that involves moving around. To do the laundry you have to do outside of our house down into the basement, I don’t want to go outside, it hurts my face. So I make my husband do it and it hurts his face and he hates my face because I don’t want to go outside. Yes I love the cold weather better than sweltering heat but I like it because I don’t have to leave the house, I like my house, warm and cozy. I also realize that it’s not helping me get anything done and my blog is still soooooo behind, I apologize for that but it’s COLD and I’m Lazy πŸ˜‰

I am still pushing myself to get stuff done, regardless of how lazy I feel, I am not calling this a slump more of a wish I was a bear and could hibernate in the winter. So Feb might be a little lighter than I had hoped for it to be but next week starts my Guest Post of a Couple and a Book. I will have a couple blogger friends that are going to share a couple that they love and the book they are from. Perfect for all those looking for a great book and a cute couple to read about.

Oh that’s right today is Valentine’s Day, I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day…I never liked this holiday. My husband has already been warned not to get me ANYTHING or it will cause bodily harm. So if you celebrate Valentine’s Day I hope you have a very happy one, if you are like me, Enjoy your Sunday! πŸ˜‰

  1. Yeah, February just need to be over already, so March and spring can arrive, right? I’m glad I’m away from the cold this week, but I totally get your lazy feeling, Michelle. I can’t even be bothered to pick up a new book… I just want to lounge and not do anything at all πŸ˜€

  2. I think Valentines is a useless holiday. I don’t mind making nommies for the family for it though. Because nom. lol I made a chocolate sheet cake that makes me fat just by looking at it. Probably because I know what goes in it. lol

I hope Ryan had a terrific birthday! And I agree about February. This is the month that’s supposed to start warming up and I start itching to get outside but we had some of that cold weather. Not as cold as you, but really cold for NC. Brrr!

Hope your week is going great! xoxo

  3. It’s hard to get motivated when it is so cold. I am so glad it’s been fairly nice here in Mo. πŸ™‚ I would have to be a polar bear to live where you do during the winter…hehehe.

I am curious about Vengeance Road.

    Enjoy your reads,

  4. I hope Ryan had an awesome birthday! His birthday wall looks great! I am glad I can do the alundry inside my house, I can imagine how having to go outside to do the laundry makes you even less wanting to do it. It isn’t as cold here and I’ve been pretty busy lately.

I am looking forward to see the favourite couple posts everyone wrote! I hope I can stop by some of them this week. I hope you’re enjoyign Omega City, it looks so good! I haven’t started my to-be read list book yet, I have to read another book first. Have a great week!

    • Busy is good! We have an old house so the only way into the basement is outside. It’s 10 degrees and just way to cold. We have sheets to do so we have to get them done but the rest of the clothes can wait until tomorrow πŸ™‚

I need to set those up today, I have a lot of work to do πŸ™‚ I just started Omega City and it looks like I will be going on a fun adventure I am looking forward to it!

  5. You have to face the cold to do laundry?! D: Everyone would go clothes-less this winter if I had to go outside! It’s freezing out there! I’d rather be in cold too but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna leave the comfort of a warm house to go out in below 20 weather. Nuh uh!

  6. My husband and I don’t ‘celebrate’ Valentines day either. To me, I think its more a high school holiday! My students love it-because they don’t really understand LOVE. They love the big gestures, the drama, etc.
I too get a bit sluggish in the winter months. Its hard to get motivated when its below 0 outside! My house is super old so its really drafty too. Its like everything is telling me to go back to bed! And who am I to question it? Have a great week!

    • My husband got my daughter flowers and he picked some up for me too which was sweet but we don’t really celebrate plus he got me coffee and I will always take coffee no matter what day πŸ™‚

My house is old too and very drafty it’s going to be a high heating bill until the middle of the week when it turns 50 again. πŸ™‚ If I didn’t have to change the sheets I would still be in bed. lol

Oh, how I hear you about the wanting to hibernate thing. The mere thought of getting off my couch to do anything around the apartment is just … ugh. I mean, I’m fine when it comes to going to work, but as soon as I get home, it’s comfy clothes on and book in hand. I’m trying to motivate myself to do more, but it’s tough when it’s this cold. It zaps all my motivation.

Congrats on finishing up your HP collection! I bought all of them a few months ago when Barnes & Noble had a buy one, get one 50% off sale. Now I’m anxiously awaiting the second wave this spring. They’re so cute!

  8. Happy Sunday!! πŸ˜‰
I love that your able to be a little lazy. I really would have liked to be able to be lazy at times but I just feel like I need to do soooooo much.. Which makes me unable to just sit down and relax until everything is done. That really sucks at time.. But that’s just being me I think! LOL!
I love your Harry Potter POP’s!! I only have the first one and I really want to have the other ones to.. I just have to figure out how I can sneak them past my man.. Hahaha.
Ow… and I love Valentine’s day.. but my man hates it.. So we never celebrate it. I tried for the first six years.. but since it was always only coming from me I gave up!
    Have a great week πŸ˜‰

    • I love being lazy sometimes but I am not very good at being lazy because I need to do so much stuff and when the day is over I regret all the things I didn’t do. I am usually someone that is always doing stuff. I hope it passes because I hate being behind.

My husband told me I can’t get any more but I never listen to him so series two comes out in the spring/summer the I NEED those πŸ™‚

My husband and I don’t really like it however he did buy me something and I never buy him anything. I will be nice to him today, that is my gift to him πŸ˜‰ lol

  9. Oh your funko’s. *.*
And I know the feeling of being lazy with the cold. It’s snowing here a bit now and while I promised my husband we would do something today for Valentine (or rather because we don’t see each other a lot since his change in hours), I’d rather stay inside, haha.

    • Lol my Funko’s I am addicted to collecting them. My husband says we are running out of room, I say we just need a bigger book shelf πŸ™‚

Staying cozy inside together is nice. My husband did get me flowers and coffee so as mad as I would like to be I am nit because he got coffee πŸ™‚ .

  10. Happy Valentines… er, Sunday! LOL. I hear you about February- it’s such a sucky month here in Michigan it’s pretty dreary with the weather. Although you have me beat at -3. We’re at 5 at the moment. πŸ™‚ I’m fine once March gets here but I hate February. πŸ™‚

Omega City looks so fun, glad it won! Enjoy the reads… πŸ™‚

  11. Ooooo, I like your books this week! So different than anyone else’s but they look interesting, esp. Staci Hart’s πŸ™‚

February and March are cabin fever months so you are NOT alone, girl!!! And honestly, you should just cut yourself some slack or take a break or whatever and blogging will call you back! Works for me everytime. That and changing my design πŸ˜‰

Sending belated Birthday wishes!! Tell him we love Sonic and Tails, too!!! Have a great week and NO Happy Valentine’s Day to you πŸ˜‰

    • Staci Hart is amazing! I love all her book. The Bad Habits series is really good. I highly recommend πŸ™‚
I feel so bad being so lazy but I just can’t get motivated enough to do anything but since I have all day today and tomorrow I plan to TRY and be as productive as possible. πŸ™‚ Maybe

Thank you! He had a great birthday, between Mario Maker and Sonic he is driving me crazy πŸ™‚ He changes so often I sometimes can’t keep up.

  12. I struggled a little during January and early Feb with motivation so can completely relate.

I should mention I’m single so don’t do Valentine’s Day either though my mum gave me a card and some chocolates! πŸ™‚
