Congratulations, it’s a slump ~ WIR & TSP

Posted February 28, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 21 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

Well I am the proud owner of a blogging slump. I have been avoiding the obvious for a while now. When my blog was down, I got so far behind, then my son having a minor set back I slipped into what I thought was me being lazy, but more of a blogging slump. I hate blogging slumps, they make me feel so incomplete. This week I pushed myself to get a few things done and tried to spend some time brain storming and setting up a new blogging schedule for myself to as least take a break or two during the week so I am not overwhelmed. I realize that once I got so behind I sort of never wanted to really catch up. In three years this might be my first full on slump, I never had this feeling before. So I am going to take it one day at a time and get myself back into it again…so far so good πŸ™‚

I wasn’t going to but I binge watched Fuller House (still have a few episodes to go) and it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I am actually really enjoying it and loving all the girls together.Β  It also made me come up with a pretty cool new post I want to do. Thinking this slump might be moving on out πŸ™‚

I got some awesome news that I wanted to share, Limabean Designs is picking up a little bit. I have a few clients I am working on right now and I am so excited about it. I am hoping this is the start of something bigger for LD. One of my clients is for a pizza place that my husbands bosses friend is opening and the logos I made came out pretty neat. I can’t wait to share them with you all when it is approved. Of course my self esteem and confidence gets in the way and I get very nervous thinking I don’t know if I am good enough to do this or if people are going to like my work. It’s so frustrating to feel this way but I keep reminding myself to do my best, it’s all I can really do.Β  So YAY, Limabean Designs!

  1. I am so sorry to hear about your blogging slump! I hope it will be over soon! It’s hard to catch up when you’re behind, maybe start planning a few weeks in advance and don’t worry for the weeks in between?

I am glad to hear you got some new clients for Limabean Designs! That’s awesome! And that pizza place design work sounds exciting! And don’t worry too much, your work is awesome and I loved everything you designed for me so far.
I’ll probably have one new banner request for you this week for the author who also requested the teaser images. And then another one in a week or so once I have the cover for that.

Good luck with the beta read! I am also currently doing a beta read. And those two new books you got this week both look great! And that’s awesome you’re going to disney this year! I hope it will be an awesome vacation! Have a great week πŸ™‚

    • You know I might actually do that. I think it’s a great idea, next week might be a little light so I can catch up. I was so worried about having a light week that maybe that would help.

Thanks Lola, I love doing the banners for you πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to do more πŸ™‚ I am waiting on the author to get back to me about the teaser so when ever she is ready I will be happy to help her.

Thanks, it’s a pretty good book but I am not sure it’s actually a beta read, I think it’s more of a read this and tell me what you think read lol.

  2. YAY Limabean Designs! Congrats, Michelle πŸ™‚
I think the best thing to do when in a blogging slump is to simply ride it out… This is supposed to be fun, right? It’s good that you’ve done some brainstorming to motivate yourself a bit, though. I’m always so amazed at all your ideas, so don’t worry about not feeling it completely right now.
In only a bit over two months, we’ll be in Chicago together!! πŸ˜€ I can’t wait.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • Thanks Lexxie!
It is usually fun but I think I have been pushing myself to get posts up but I think most of my posts are suffering because I am pushing so hard. I do need to step back and ideas will come. Thank you for that, most people think my ideas are crazy except Berls, she seems to enjoy my crazy Lol

I CAN NOT WAIT to be together in Chicago, I am so excited! We are going to have so much fun!

  3. Go, LImabean! And I’m glad you’re going to get to Disney this year, too. As for a blogging slump, I understand the feeling; it’s hard to get or keep your enthusiasm going when you know you’re behind. I have to say, though, for a slump, you sure had plenty of posts last week! So here’s to both of us getting out of our slumps and getting back to where we want to be. πŸ™‚

  4. I hope you slump is coming to an end and can’t wait to see what kind of post you could get out of fuller house…lol. I might have to try and give that show a shot, but I wasn’t a huge fan of full house but I like Candace! πŸ™‚ I am glad your LD designs is getting some business, your great at designs so don’t think that way! πŸ™‚

Hope you guys enjoy going to Disney World, one of these days I am going to make it to one of the Disney places…lol. πŸ™‚

    Happy reading!

  5. Congrats to LD! I think your work is better than you’re giving yourself credit for – we are always more critical of ourselves than others. Can’t wait to see the goods! AND DISNEY! πŸ™‚ I want to go again -my first time the “I’ve been to Disney 8 times” snob took control of our group (high school band trip) and it wasn’t enjoyable. I felt so gypped.

  6. Congrats on LD!! I’ve been wanting to contact you for some work for my blog but it is taking me forever to decide what I want lol. I’ve been sort of in a blogging slump since I’m so tired from work. I now only have posts Monday to Thursday and it’s helped not being worried about posting everyday. I’m also thinking of new meme’s so hopefully that will help. I’m so jealous you are going to Disneyworld and I can’t wait to see your pictures!

    Have a great week Michelle!

  7. Yay LD! That’s awesome! I’m sorry to hear about your blogging slump but glad to hear you’re coming out of it. I haven’t watched Fuller House but I want too. I wasn’t a huge Full House fan back in the day but I watched quite a bit so it’ll be fun to catch up. I love all the Fairy Tale Reform School covers and yay for Disney! Have a great week!
