Decorations, Turkey and Design~ WIR & TSP

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I post on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kim @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

So this week has been a little busy but mostly normal. Thanksgiving we spend at my husbands family and then went to my family for dessert. It was a busy day but a lot of fun, I even watched the parade like a 5 year old screaming when Santa came on the TV. I might have issues but I rather enjoy them. πŸ˜‰

Friday I spent all day decorating the house, the lights for the tree broke so we had to go out and get new ones. Sadly I couldn’t fine the lights we had and bought new ones that I HATE and the lights are so bright (LED Lights) I thought it would burn my eyeballs out. The kids like them so they will do until I can find a replacement for next year because my eyes can’t take another Christmas season of these beacons of retina destroyers. Our Scout elf is also back, the kids adore Elfie Pickle (that’s his name) so it’s nice to have him back again, lurking in corners and hiding in the tree.

Here are some pictures of the decorated house.

I am super excited that I have a few design jobs I have been working on. I am hoping this keeps up because it is fun to do and I am really enjoying it. I will show samples when the jobs are done.

Books I got this week:

NOTHING! Only because I haven’t really been looking, going to try very hard to read what I have until the end of the year.

Picture of the week:

33 Nutcrackers and counting. I love my Christmas friends. I try to find the most unique nutcrackers that I can. It's fun to search them out. I would love to get one more this year. :)

  1. Had to laugh at your comment Michelle about having issues but enjoying them.

I can very much relate. I don’t seem to care as much how I’m judged for my foibles nowadays!

“beacons of retina destroyers” – LOL I hope you can find the lights that you like. My tree is up but I’m still decorating the condo.

Congrats on net getting any new books, that’s some willpower! πŸ™‚ Could you lend me some? πŸ˜€

    Have a good week!

  3. Your decorated house looks fantastic, Michelle! I can totally understand that your eyes hurt with those LED lights, though πŸ™‚

Thanks for the reminder bout Holiday Traditions and a Book… I just e-mailed you πŸ™‚ And should I say congrats for not getting any new books? πŸ˜€ I got far too many, but I couldn’t resist.

Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading xoxo

  4. Nice pics, looks like you’re all decorated. πŸ™‚ Had the same problem last year, our lights didn’t work and got new ones and they were… different. Couldn’t match em up. So aggravating.

Watched the parade here too. Ate a ton. That’s about it LOL. Was fun though… hope you’re having a good weekend.

  5. Wow, your decorations are great! I haven’t did any decorating, I don’t do a tree but I might put out a few little things. I recently bought my first little nutcracker and it’s all your fault…lol.

You did a lot of reading! YAY. I am trying really hard to not grab any more review books but them freebies sneak up on me…lol.

  6. Love your decorations! I only have 3 nutcrackers. I’m seriously lacking in that department. I’m considering LED lights for outside, but I’m not seeing good reviews. I’d have to get one strand first though to see how they’d look and perform before I’d replace all my lights outside since I’d need 224′ of icicle lights. That may have to wait a few more years. lol

Have a great week, Michelle! πŸ™‚

  7. I love the pictures of your decorated house! It looks great! We haven’t started decorating yet, maybe next week. And I had a busy week, so I haven’t gotten around to writing the post for christmas for your blog yet, not sure if I will make it in time :(. And yay for your design jobs, that’s awesome news! I am glad you could fix the banner for Siobhan her blog so fast, I’ve already added it to her blog.

I love your christmas blog design! It looks awesome! I showed your picture of the nutcrackers to my boyfriend he was surprised you had so many of them. I like that picture of your collection. When we watched the first Home Alone movie two weeks ago there was a nutcracker int he house and it reminded me of your collection.

I really should follow your example and not get any new books for a few weeks, but there are so many good books out there. I did got some books I am really excited for this week, so I guess that makes up for it. I hope you’re enjoying all those christmas books you read! Have a great week!

    • That is the living room all decorated, I should take a picture of the kitchen, hallway and bathroom that are all decorated as well. It’s like Christmas threw up in my house and I love it. I didn’t take the kitchen picture yet since I can’t find my table cloth once I find that I will take one and add it to next weeks post.

I am glad she liked it πŸ™‚ I am also working on two header designs for two blogs and one is almost complete just need to make an adjustment and the other the header is done now I have to move on to the rest of the job. It has been so much fun to do.

My husband hates my Nutcrackers, he says they are creepy but I absolutely love them. I have been collecting them for about 16 years. I try to find the most unique ones. I have a few that are unique.

Thank you, I do love decorating the blog, just a settle change but festive.

I really just wasn’t looking this week, yesterday was the first day I checked Netgalley in a week. I am sure I will find a few books in the next 3 weeks but I am really hoping I can go the rest of the year without getting anymore.
