(The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.Β  It’s a chance to share news.Β  A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.)

Blog News:

So I have been a little behind this week due to some personal things at home, so I apologize that I haven’t visited some of your blogs but I am hoping to catch up on that this week.

I am super excited that my Author Spotlight Feature has blown up. When I started blogging I loved getting review requests from authors then it got so overwhelming I hated turning people away. Some of the books I got offered I really didn’t think I would enjoy but I thought others might and that is how the Author Spotlight was born, I love helping authors weather well known or not and I thought this would be such a cool idea to spotlight an author and this year I have added to it. This week I had a boom and I’m so excited about it almost 20 emails requesting a spotlight and I plan to respond to all to get them scheduled. (if you are reading this and you sent me on I promise to get to you soon).

Otherwise I attempted my first original post with a rant about Facebook, Thank you all who visited and comment, I was so nervous. I will be doing it again (just need to come up with something) it was a total boost to my confidence and I was rather proud of it and myself. Yay!!!

Thursday – Author Spotlight Annie Crosby

Friday – Author Spotlight Missy Fleming (Giveaway)

Saturday – My To-Be Read List

What I read, currently reading and going to read.

I finished (Don’t you) forget about me.
If it wasn’t for the last 40% I would have bailed on it but the end totally made me like the book. It was a complete turnaround.

I am now reading After the End and I hope to be finished soon I am actually liking it so far, it’s different

I am hoping to get a least 2 more in before COYER is over but I don’t think I will so my next readΒ  will be The Luck Uglies (I think)
I might go off my original list from my goal post and read one of the new ones I got last week.

Books I received, downloaded and added:

I was a VERY good girl and didn’t get anything new….I am VERY sad about it but I just have been avoiding adding anything new at least this week πŸ˜‰

What else is going on?

It’s been a very stressful week (technically two weeks) personally. This week is the reason why I named my blog Because reading is better than real life because at the moment it is. I can’t really get into to much detail but we are in for a bit of a change and I am hopeful it’s for the better. I’m not sure what is going to happen so if I disappear for a while remember this post and know I will be back. Change can be scary, I just didn’t realize as a adult how scary it can be. I have faith it will all work out but it’s just a matter of taking each day and hoping for the best, making due with what we have and remembering it can always be worse. Don’t want to be a Debbie downer, I am usually a very happy positive person so I know it will be ok and maybe soon I will have some exciting news about an awesome change that was for the better πŸ™‚

BTW: If you are a part of COYER don’t forget to join us today at 4 for the Twitter Party.

Now I am off to read because I really need to get out of this reality for a bit πŸ™‚

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Let’s Chat…

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

Change is scary and it doesn’t get a whole lot easier. I hope things calm down and that everything works out.

    Go read and enjoy!

  2. So glad your Author Spotlight is taking off- that’s awesome. Hope the RL stuff works out for the best and soon- that kind of stress can be tough. Hang in there. After the End looks very interesting and I’ll check out your review of Murder Complex too- that one caught my eye a while back. Have a good rest of the weekend!

  3. I so want to do a “rant” post but I haven’t gotten up the cajones yet – it IS kind of nerve-wrecking to put your opinion out there, especially now a days o.O My excuse right now is that I don’t have a cool graphic or name for it (lame…).

I’m so glad you’re liking After the End – I have that and I’m looking forward to it myself πŸ™‚

Great job being “good” and have a good week!!!

    • After the End is actually kind of funny. I wasn’t expecting that and the story is different. Hoping to be finished with it either today or tomorrow.
If you ever need a graphic let me know! I will be happy to make one for you! (totally just took your excuse away now you have to write one) lol
I plan to offer graphics as soon as I work out all the details. I will be called Limabean Designs but if you need anything now just let me know πŸ™‚

    • Sometimes I think it’s just been such a long winter maybe stuff is hitting me harder because it’s so gloomy outside and once the nicer weather comes along these kind of situation wont be as bad since I will be less gloomy πŸ˜‰

  4. I think your author spotlight is a great idea. I also get a lot of review requests for books which I don’t think I will enjoy.

I really liked your facebook rant posts, I know a lot of bloggers have the same issue and it’s always nice to have a place to rant about facebook ;). I am always a bit nervous when doing new things on the blog, like my how to make neat html code post yesterday. And I got a lot of great responses on that. I also have a post about slow building romances scheduled for next week. So I am curious to see the response to that one. It really pays of to try new things sometimes πŸ™‚

I am looking forward to your review of The Murder Complex next week :).

I hope you personal life is getting better soon *hugs*. Change indeed can be very scary indeed, I don’t like change and prefer things to stay like they are usually. Some days reading is better than real life and I use(d) reading a lot to escape real life.

My comments on your Week In Read View posts always become so long!

Lola recently posted: Sunday Post #66
    • But I don’t mind them being long at all and I think mine on yours might be just as long lol Thank you for the **Hug** I also don’t like change and love for things to stay the same but it is what it is and at the moment it’s might be for the better. It just sucks πŸ™‚

I just commented on your html post not sure why I didn’t see it yesterday but I loved it. I actually enjoy HTML and CSS and messed up code drives me crazy.
I had such a hard time writing the review for the Murder Complex, I hope I did it a little justice πŸ™‚

      • I hope the thing in your personal life works out okay. Sometimes change is indeed for the best, but I still would prefer things to stay the same.

Indeed your comments in my blog are always long too, but I don’t mind, I love reading your comments :).

And I am so happy people seemed to enjoy the html post :). Messed-up code drives me crazy and I actually wrote that post right after I received a messed-up code from an author for a tour. I always assumed I was the only one who was bothered by messed-up code as I don’t hear a lot of bloggers complain about it, but I am glad to find out that isn’t the case.

        • you know I wonder if they don’t say anything because it’s like to you don’t want to complain about it since the person spent the time to set the entire thing up as a favor, people might think its rude? However I would want to be told if something is wrong so I can fix it next time. I have gotten a few I had to just redo myself, I’m not a fan of HTML code in MS Word and since i have a mac it never transfers over correctly. I actually enjoy writing code after my class last year it’s a lot more fun then I thought it would be πŸ™‚
