Week in READ-view & The Sunday Post 4/27

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays tell you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I skipped last weeks Week in READ-view and Sunday Post since I was having Easter at my house and had a ton of things to do, then my brain exploded and I have had a massive headache since Sunday. I seriously was 100% positive it exploded, I collapsed to my knees in the shower and had to have my husband help me out. I did most of the cooking that day but also took breaks to lay down. I went to the doctor on Monday he said it might be sinus and sent me for an MRI of my brains (fingers crossed it is still in there) so I will find out on Monday whats going on or if it’s just REALLY bad sinus pain. This allergy season is suppose to be brutal and I always have issues with allergies and sinus. So I might not have been around much the last couple days and now you know why, I promise I’m not avoiding anyone 🙂

So with that being said lets start this weeks WIR & TSP

Blog News:

I am so very happy about being ahead on my post this week and I was able to write and set up the reviews I had on hold. I finally have After the End review scheduled for Monday and a couple more this week.

Doing the Clean Sweep Challenge next month and I am really looking forward to it, I have my list ready and going to start the starter post today. I am hoping to get a lot read because of my head issues I am a little behind on my reading. I read one book this week in a day but now I am having a hard time getting through the second one because of my head. Stupid head!

I am happy to say I think my TBR List post will be back next month and I have made it more interactive. I will have more details on it soon. I am looking forward to bring it back 🙂

Had a very yummy dinner at my house despite my brain exploding and the kids had a great day with all there new stuff and some (not a lot) candy.

I have been taking work home with me the last couple of weekends because we are finally busy enough at work that it’s none stop work making the days go quicker and the weekends very busy. Change is coming very soon and we are hopeful it will be a good thing like I said a couple of weeks ago this is a BIG change for us and I am hoping to be able to share it with you soon in a positive way. Fingers crossed if you can, we are due for something positive after everything that has happened in the last couple of years.

May is when we start going down to the Jersey Shore even with all the disaster that have happened we are really looking forward to it and it can’t wait to sit on the deck in the morning and read while everyone is asleep.

This is the view from the deck (I love it down there)

I did a summer reading list last year and it worked out great, will be doing it again this year it’s like my own personal 3 month challenge 🙂 Does anyone do a Summer Reading List Challenge?

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Let’s Chat…

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. I really hope you feel better. I love that picture you posted. I wish sometimes I didn’t live in a land locked state. I love the Mountains but I love the water more. Can’t wait to see your ARC challenge post!

    • It’s brand new and just came out this week. I have my review/tour on Friday! It really is a unique read, I enjoyed it a lot my review is gushing with fangirlism 🙂

    • Thank you! My son had the a worst allergies in the family. So far I am shocked he isn’t bad at all and I have my fingers crossed it passes this year. I hope your son’s aren’t to bad this year.

  2. Bea

I feel your pain on the sinuses, they can be so miserable. Good luck!

Your summer sounds wonderful. I’m curious what’s on your summer reading list.

    Happy, pain-free, reading!

    • I was just thinking of doing a challenge for the three months June to August. If I am daring enough I might set up a linky with some rules if anyone wants to join me. I did such a great job with my list last year and it was fun (all by myself lol) and I made a great dent in my reading.

I am feeling pretty good today so maybe it wont happen again.
      Have a great week 🙂

  3. Sorry to hear about your pain, hope it’s nothing serious and that you feel better this week. Fingers crossed for the work situation too. I’ll check out your After The End review because I’ve been curious about that one…

That view looks like a fabulous place to hang out and read! We’re looking forward to summer and getting over to the water as well…

  4. Wishing you good test results and hoping you’re feeling better very soon. I can’t believe how you’ve managed to do so much–sounds like you had a visit from the energizer bunny as well as the Easter bunny.

How nice to look forward to time at the shore. I don’t get there often enough, even though it’s only an hour to hour and a half away. I will be in Spring Lake for the annual 5 mile run on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, though.

  5. That headache sounds really nasty, I hope you get good results from that MRI scan. I haven’t been able to read as much as I wanted this week, but at least I am back to reading only one book at the time, so that’s good. I still have a book to read and review before this friday, so I hope I am able to read it before then.
That picture of Jersey Shore looks lovely, it looks like a nice place to read there on that deck.

    • I give anyone a lot of credit that can read more than one book at a time, I cant concentrate that much to read more than just one LOL.
I love it at the shore and it really is so nice and peaceful in the morning before my little monsters get up 🙂

      • I usually don’t read more than one book at a time and usually when i do something’s wrong or I can’t concentrate on only one book. I don’t like it, so I am glad to be back to reading only one books, works much better for me.

It looks really peacefull, do you go there often?

        • I don’t listen to a lot of Audio books but I might want to try that while reading a book (not at the same time) 😉 I feel like a lot of people really enjoy them. I only listened to one and it wasn’t too bad. I just enjoy reading more than listening lol but I want to read Game of Thrones and I feel like that is a huge commitment so many listening to it would be better.

It’s my parents house so after Memorial Day we usually go almost every weekend. It’s our mini vacations in the summer and a great way to spend time with the family 🙂

  6. I hope the MRI shows it’s nothing major! You’ve been busy though. Posting every day of the week seems like it would wear you down quickly. I shoot for 5 to 6 days a week, but I always like to have one day to focus on prepping posts for the next week. That’s just my strategy. The Monster Within sounds interesting. I’ll have to check that one out! Hope you have a great week!

    • Now that I am a Little more organized (just a little lol) I have everything set up a week in advance so I don’t have to stress about it to much. It use to be very stressful scrambling to get the post up the day before (yes I did that a lot)

The Monster Within I love the cover. I won that book in Jan and they kept forgetting about me I think, but I finally got it. looking forward to reading it soon!

    • I’m with Sandy. I hope the MRI only bears good news. I had an awful sinus headache on Sunday and stayed home from work on Monday. I told my husband today that I think the goal of this cold is to make me use every open box of kleenex in the house.

      Have a good week.

  7. So sorry to hear about your head. Hoping that all the tests come back okay. I’ve woken up the last two nights and stumbled in the kitchen for migraine pills. I think allergies are really bad this year.

Cutlass looks awesome. I’ll have to check that one out.

I’m excited about the ARC Clean Sweep Challenge. I have a lot of books that I missed the release date on too that I need to get “swept” out. 🙂

Congrats on getting ahead on your posts. Feel better!

    • Thank you! I never had a migraine and I hear they are awful. I’m hoping it’s just sinus, I will hopefully know by Monday what is going on 🙂
