Hi, I am Michelle, owner of Because Reading is better than real life. I started blogging in Feb 2013 just on a whim and have love doing it ever since. I am also the co-host to 4 year long challenges, COYER, Reading Assignment Challenge, Author Love and Bookish Resolutions I am also the co-host to 1 monthly challenge Can you read a series in a Month? Challenge.

On Sunday, July 9th 2017, I got myself a co-blogger! I am very happy to have Berls from Fantasy is More Fun joining me on this blogging adventure. We plan to bring a lot of fun things to this blog and a mix of great reviews. So make sure to stop by her posts and say hello! She is an awesome blogger and a great friend!

Now back to more about me…;)

I started reading when I was rather young. I enjoyed all types of books. My favorites where the Point Horror books and I would beg my mom to take me to the bookstore every weekend to get more. I had stopped reading hardcore for a while and when the Harry Potter books came out my love for reading blossomed again. It wasn’t until sometime in 2012 when I started really using Goodreads that I found my true passion for reading and then blogging. When I started my blog I had no idea what I was doing, I still cringe when I read those posts. I will say, it was/is one of the best things I ever thought of doing and I love it so much. It helped me build my confidence and boosted my self-esteem. If you ever find me reading it’s usually Middle Grade or Young Adult. I do love  a good steamy read and fantasy. I have a fondness for some Sci-Fi and Historical Romances. I don’t shy away from Steampunk and I love Horror and Fairytale retelling. The further away from real life the better. (see how I came up with the name) I love to visit magical worlds and settle in to books with lots of feels.

At some point in 2015 I decided to take my designing skills and start my own business, Limabean Design. I love designing and I love helping bloggers/Authors make things they will be proud to show off. I have been designing since 1996, since right out of college. It is a passion of mine and I love everything artistic and creative. I also do premade covers, you can find the group HERE.

When I am not blogging I am spending time with my amazing husband and my two little ones. My son is 12 and my daughter is 9. I am a video game lover and spend lots of my time playing with my kids or by myself. I am usually playing Mindcraft, Star Stable or Stardew Valley, just to name a few. I am a true animal lover and have a house of pets: 1 dog – Dexter, 1 cat – Buttons, 1 Hamster – Biscuit and on occasion we watch my parents cockatiel, Vito. I would have more but first I need a bigger house.
