Most modern fairytales are retelling of the original story, to be honest most of the original stories are super twisted. A Fairytale retelling is about taking that fairy tale and keeping the basic idea of the story but changing it around to tell the story in a different way. I think classic stories also make for good retelling, while not really fairytales, I always put them in the same category.
Let’s Start with ALICE! 🙂
Allison’s Adventures in Underland is a Reverse Harem that twisted wonderland on its head, it also needed a lot more sex in it because those boys that she was dealing with were written amazingly. This entire series (which I still need to finish) is fantastic (from what I read) I plan to read it again It’s that good. (This is a complete series)
Villainous Wonderland Series – This series was better than I could have expected. I loved how twisted this wonderland was and I loved her men. This has a good amount of spice but I wort of wished they had more since the men were written so well!
Curiouser and Curiouser ~ This is a world outside of wonderland, it is hard to explain it has a great amount of steampunk and also has a nice romance. The red queen is scary.
Alice takes back Wonderland ~ This was so good! I read this one so long ago but goodness it was good. It follows Alice but you get a bunch of different fairytale characters all in unexpected rolls. It was so well done and I adored it
The Looking Glass Wars ~ This I haven’t read yet but I have it on my shelf and it one that I have been wanting to read for a while. It is such a different take on Wonderland and the Alice story. It is very epic fantasy which is where I am at right now! 😉

Boy I have not read any Alice retellings. I think I need to start!
I love retelling and Alice is one of my favorites since it can either be super simple or completely insane and it usually works. lol
These sounds great! My favorite Alice retelling in Splintered by A.G. Howard.
I also read that one, I was going to add it to my list but I figured I would go totally different and if I decided to do it again, I totally will add it the next time.
