Fairy Tales with a Twist: Alice

Posted July 26, 2021 by Michelle in Twisted Fairytales / 4 Comments

Most modern fairytales are retelling of the original story, to be honest most of the original stories are super twisted. A Fairytale retelling is about taking that fairy tale and keeping the basic idea of the story but changing it around to tell the story in a different way. I think classic stories also make for good retelling, while not really fairytales, I always put them in the same category.

Let’s Start with ALICE! 🙂

Allison’s Adventures in Underland is a Reverse Harem that twisted wonderland on its head, it also needed a lot more sex in it because those boys that she was dealing with were written amazingly. This entire series (which I still need to finish) is fantastic (from what I read) I plan to read it again It’s that good. (This is a complete series)

Villainous Wonderland Series – This series was better than I could have expected. I loved how twisted this wonderland was and I loved her men. This has a good amount of spice but I wort of wished they had more since the men were written so well!

Curiouser and Curiouser ~ This is a world outside of wonderland, it is hard to explain it has a great amount of steampunk and also has a nice romance. The red queen is scary.

Alice takes back Wonderland ~ This was so good! I read this one so long ago but goodness it was good. It follows Alice but you get a bunch of different fairytale characters all in unexpected rolls. It was so well done and I adored it

The Looking Glass Wars ~ This I haven’t read yet but I have it on my shelf and it one that I have been wanting to read for a while. It is such a different take on Wonderland and the Alice story. It is very epic fantasy which is where I am at right now! 😉
