When she least expects it, sixteen-year old Holly Burton’s unremarkable life is shaken to the core. A vision of the mother Holly never knew leaves her questioning everything she believes.

Eager for answers, Holly enrolls at a boarding school for highly gifted students in Wolfebane, New Hampshire. But things will get worse before they get better, as Holly accidentally transports to a parallel existence where she’s confronted by a dark and ancient evil.

With the help of Joss, a sexy alpha warrior sworn to protect her, and her new BFF, the equally swoon-worthy Quinn, Holly faces her fears and an unlikely adversary in a showdown that is worse than anything she could’ve possibly imagined …

GOODREADS

Praise for Scion of the Sun:
“Charmed and drawn in by Holly’s spunk and snark, Scion of the Sun will leave you spinning and falling for Joss right along with Holly. Marsh’s unique story is packed with action, mystery, romance and suspense. This is not to be missed!” – Jennifer L. Armentrout, USA TODAY Bestselling Author

TREES, ASTROLOGY AND FATE
I did a lot of research to write SCION OF THE SUN. Tons. Hours and hours of poring over Celtic mythology that opened up new plot points the further I delved. Fascinating stuff.

One aspect of Celtic mythology that particularly fascinated me was Celtic tree astrology and how that can shape a person.

In fact, I used this information to shape my heroine Holly, to the extent I named her after the holly tree (‘the ruler’) because of her pivotal role in the story.

Celtic tree astrology developed through the Celts believing that the time of our births shaped our personality and behavior. Because of their knowledge of earth cycles and their reverence for trees, they made the link between astrology and trees.

Because Celts followed a calendar based on a lunar year, their astrology dates don’t match ours.

    • I really spend a lot of time judging books by covers. I know it's wrong. I saw the cover and REALLY wanted to read it just didn't have time this month to do it bummed about that. Probably should have made an exception since I loved the cover and the synopsis.
Thanks for stopping by Anna 🙂

  1. So I had dismissed this book because the cover was so boring to me. I know, you should never judge a book by its cover, but I do all the time. But now that I actually took the time to read the synopsis I'm very interested! Just added to my TBR!

  2. I wish I had been able to be on this tour, too, because this book sounds so exciting! I live in New England so I love books that are set here and I like Celtic Mythology and I really liked that astrological chart you have up there with the guest post!
