Tell Me Something Tuesday

Tell Me Something Tuesday was hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, but she has (temporarily?) stopped blogging. So a group of us that had been doing posts (Linda from Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell, Karen from For What It’s Worth, Roberta from Offbeat YA, Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About  and me) decided to get together, come up with some more topics and keep the meme going.Michelle made us a logo and we’re off and running. For more details, check out this post where I reintroduced the meme.

I can be sporadic, but when I do join in I will always share next week’s topic at the end of the post. So, today is about…

Resolutions/words of the year – do you do them? What are they for 2022?

Yes and no. I am a constant goal setter, I don’t just do it at the start of the year. But I do see the start of a new year as a great opportunity to have a fresh slate and also really evaluate what I’m doing well and need to improve upon. So at the end of each year I review my goals (which I do to a lesser extent at the end of each month and each week), and update them. I also like to write new affirmations each year. And I do come up with a theme word for the year, which is also the the theme for my bullet journal for the year.

This year, my word is “warrior.” I feel like I haven’t been doing as well with my goals in recent years because I’m fighting a battle against a lot of factors – including this damn pandemic – and I need to a warrior’s mentality if I’m going to make my goals a reality this year. I bought a Morse code bracelet with the word warrior on it as well, so that I have a constant reminder.

I recently posted pictures of all my bullet journal pages, along with my affirmations and such for 2022, if you’d like to see them on Instagram – I’m very proud of how the pages turned out.

What about you?

Next week’s topic: What have been your most fulfilling blogger/author interactions so far?

It's Tell Me Something Tuesday and Berls wants to know: what are your resolutions for 2022? Share on X

About Berls

Michelle adopted me as part of her blog when I decided to close down my blog, Fantasy is More Fun. The blog was dying, but my love of reading and the blogosphere was still strong as ever - so I found my new home here at Because Reading!

I'm not just a book lover, but a one time author (that hopes to be more in the future), wife, mom to the cutest, happiest, best 2 year old and step-mom to the craziest, sweetest 22 year old on the planet. My family mean everything to me and they appear frequently in the Sunday Post with Berls. So grab a glass of wine and chat books, blogging, and family with me!

  1. Warrior is such a great word! I wouldn’t have thought of that one but I really like it. No word for me this year. I tried it once and forgot my word half way through and then tried again unofficially in 2020; then the pandemic hit and my word went out the window–or maybe that was the lesson of the year–I thought I needed more of it in my life and suddenly I felt like I had none. One of those, “you thought it was bad before? Just wait!” type things. Since then, I just take in everyone else’s words and wish I had thought of them for myself.

    • LOL well you can always borrow a word if you feel like it speaks to you! But I do know what you mean, sometimes life has a funny way of getting worse to just show you that things weren’t actually so bad! I feel like setting goals in this environment is very challenging, but a word is a bit easier for me.

    • I like setting a word of the year to set a tone, that way when my goals don’t necessarily work out as planned (because life happens in unexpected ways!) I can still embrace the spirit of them by focusing on the word. Sometimes it works out better than others! I’d love to hear the word you settle on, if you do it!
