So this year I decided to to take on two challenge besides the ones I co-host. I am rather excited to be back to doing challenges. It has really helped with my reading MoJo. So these are the two challenges I am planning to do in 2019.
Pick a Theme Challenge
Pick-a-Theme is a 2019 Reading Challenge where you choose a theme each month and read books that fit that theme. It is hosted @ She’s Got Books On Her Mind
This sounded so fun so I decided to do the Novice Level: Read 2-3 books around your theme, so each month I hope to read at least 2 books within my theme. I hope. 🙂
- Jan ~ Fairytale Retelling
- Feb ~ Reverse Harem
- March ~ Middle Grade
- April ~ Witches
- May ~ Steampunk
- June ~ Dragons
- July ~ Time Travel
- August ~ Space Opera
- September ~ Sci/Fi
- October ~ Horror
- November ~ Cozy Mystery
- December ~ Christmas
2019 Tackle My TBR Challenge
I know there are no shortage of TBR-based challenges out there. I’m not the only blogger or reader who struggles with this. If you’re looking to tackle YOUR TBR and want a low-key challenge to help you along the way, the new-and-improved Tackle My TBR Challenge might be right up your alley.
I haven’t done with one before but I figured it works perfect with all the other challenges I am doing. I wanted to focus a lot in 2019 on the books I already own and already on my kindle. I have stepped away from ARCs and only grab ones I know I really want. So this challenge is perfect to help me read those books I already own.
My Goal for this challenge is, it’s football themed, First Down: read 25-36 TBR books, I hope to join a few of the readathons that might be associated with the challenge, it depends on how my reading is going by that point! 🙂
I am hoping to do a challenge update starting at the end of February.
What challenges are you planning to do this year?
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Good luck with your challenges!
Interesting challenges. I’m such a mood reader the pick a theme would be tough. I like to change up genres in a week. I’m doing a Beat the Backlist challenge to tackle some of my books I’ve already purchased or have wanted to read for awhile. Good luck! Anne – Books of My Heart
Good luck!!! I am doing the pick a theme too! 🙂
I am planning to do the tackle my TBR challenge as well along with my Goodreads goal and that’s it. I suck at challenges but I really want to tackle my TBR!
When I started blogging, I never did a challenge but last year when I stopped doing them I realized I needed them to help me read and also loved challenging myself to see if I can accomplish what I set my goal as. They really are not for everyone so even just one or two challenges a year is pretty awesome. 🙂
Woah I love the new look!!!
The Pick a Theme Challenge sounds great- I love the monthly topics. 🙂
Thank you! You are the only one that noticed! 🙂 I am so in love with it.
YES, I know we did something similar with the Reading Assignment but I love the monthly topics. So fun. I can’t wait to get going with it, its fun to look for books to match.
These both look like a blast. I like the pick a theme one that suits a mood reader to a tee. 🙂
Yes perfect for mood readers, I can’t wait to start picking books to go with the challenge. 🙂
These look really interesting! So far I’m just signed up for an audiobook challenge, and I’ve been looking for a couple more. I’ll.check these out!
Besides the ones I host these both are new to me so I figured I would give them a try. They look like fun. Good luck with your challenge 🙂
