Tell Me Something Tuesday was hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, but she has (temporarily?) stopped blogging. So a group of us that had been doing posts (Linda from Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell, Karen from For What It’s Worth, Roberta from Offbeat YA, Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About and me) decided to get together, come up with some more topics and keep the meme going. Michelle made us a logo and we’re off and running. For more details, check out this post where I reintroduced the meme.
I can be sporadic, but when I do join in I will always share next week’s topic at the end of the post. So, today is about…
Do you read 1 book at a time? or multiple?
Oh I read MULTIPLE books at a time. It’s funny, because I used to be strictly one book. I think audiobooks changed that for me. Now I always have an audiobook going and a print/kindle book going. Then I started doing my Miracle Mornings, so I added in a print self-help/self-improvement/learning book to the mix for mornings. And sometimes I’m doing a buddy read at a slower pace and add a 4th book to the mix. I read the pages/chapters/percentage that I’m reading each day with my buddy reader and then switch to the other book I’m reading. That’s less often, though.
As a rule of thumb, I am always in the middle of 3 books. And I used to have “rules” for only reading different genres at the same time and such. I don’t follow those rules anymore. I don’t have any trouble keeping the stories straight, like I thought I would. So I read whatever I feel like, regardless of similarity in genres.

I should add some non-fiction to my reading schedule. I like how you carve out that self-help time. I don’t know if I am disciplined enough to do that.
3 minimal – 1 audio, 1 print, 1 ebook and sometimes another book if I have one that’s a bit slow going.
This was my answer too – also because of audiobooks. I’m more of a 2 book reader but I might have a third one going for a quick 1/2 hour bedtime read.

I read one book at a time. My mom could read several at once but I can’t.
Adding ebooks and audiobook formats to print was when I started to be a multiple book reader, too.
Very much like you. I have an audiobook and a kindle book going, plus sometimes also a buddy read. I do try not to have the two main books in the same genre which is easy enough since my reads are so varied.
I’m almost always at least reading two books at once. One regular read and one audiobook.
I’ve never even tried to read more than one book at a time (unless one is s a reread, or a novella I can read in one sitting – but it’s only happened a handful of times). I like to give my books my undivided attention 😉.
