Welcome to the Author Love Challenge 2018. This is, by far, our most low-key challenge. We started it late last year and even though I don’t think either Michelle or I made our goal, I know I came a lot closer to finishing off my author and for that I’m thrilled! We hope you’ll join us in giving that special author some love!
The Rules
-
- Pick an author that you love and wish youβd read more of their books.
- Set a goal to read x number of books by that author by the end of the year. You can make your goal to read all their books, but all we ask is that your goal be at least 5. If youβd like a more hard-core challenge to READ ALL THE BOOKS β check out Ana @ Herding Cat and Burning Soupβs challenge.
- Announce your participation, author, and goal in a blog post, goodreads post, FB post, etc. and link up below.
- Have fun finally catching up with a favorite author!
This is a lovely challenge! I have posted my participation and linked it here. The author I have chosen is Jeffery Archer. Hoping to strike off as many as possible off the list I have made.
Awesome!! Good luck π
Yaya! I’ll join in
My goal would be to complete books by John Green & Cecilia Ahern. I’ve read only one book by each so let’s push a little.
Good luck! You just need to pick one for the challenge. I get the urge to pick more though… I have SO MANY I want to catch up in!
Yay, I’m participating! π
Woot! Good luck π
I will join this challenge with Neil Gaiman.
Have fun!! Good luck π
OK, this is likely a silly question, but it has to be an author that you have 15 unread books left for? I don’t think I have any of those, I’m bummed. There are a few authors I have like 10 books left to read to catch up, but I couldn’t find one with 15 minimum. Ah well…maybe another year.
It’s an error in the post. It’s suppose to be the author has at LEAST 5 books but you don’t need to read more than 15 however you can read as many as you want or can but you don’t have to read them all, you can set the number of books to read. Sorry for the confusion.
Thank you so much for the clarification!!! I’ve linked up and I’m looking forward to it!!
Iβm planning to read books by Betsy Byars. It has been a goal of mine to read all of her books for a few years now, so this will be a great motivator! Hereβs my sign-up post: http://www.readathomemom.com/p/blog-page_14.html
Haha, oops, I hit some keys and deleted half my name!
Hahaha
Yay! I’m glad you’re joining us and going for it! Good luck!

Glad you will be joining us.
This works perfectly with my plans for 2018! Already plan on reading one Terry Pratchett a week for the entire year of 2018! Fabulous challenge. Hopefully I can stick to it this time around!
Woot! Sounds like you will kick this challenge’s butt then π
I’m going to join, but my post for this will be up at the end of december or beginning January. I’m still thinking about which author to choose. π
Glad you are joining us and that end of December/beginning of Jan is totally fine!
Yay, glad you’re joining! I love this challenge, digging in with an author Iove π
This sounds like a challenge I would enjoy taking on.
I hope you’ll join us!
I’m just wondering, because I’m planning on joining this challenge again this year; but last year, the goal was “at least 5” of the chosen author’s books, and this year, the rules says “at least 15”. Is this a typo?
*oops, I meant his year the rules had said “at least 5”, and this post (for next year), the rules say “at least 15”. We’re still in 2017. I’m already ahead of myself.
Haha. So we didn’t realize we had said 5 this year… I think the 5 this year was a typo. That’s a little more than 1 book a month, so shouldn’t be too hard π
It’s suppose to be at LEAST 5 books but you only need to read at most 15. I think that is how we got confused. I just re-read my notes about the challenge and that was what we had written down. Sorry for the confusion!
I totally failed this one this year, I didn’t even read one from the author I picked. π
Oh no π well, you could try them again next year!
I take part in Anna’s Read All the Books Challenge. It’s slow going but I am making some progress. And I do love how challenges like these are open ended π
Yeah, that’s definitely a good one! I wanted to do something that’s just 1 year, so I don’t feel too trapped (I know… No one is forcing me lol) but I love the open ended option to really get caught up on an author with hers!
