The danger is rising, but this time, Holly is ready.
It’s a nightmare as old as time, creepy wraiths swirling in the shadows, waiting to strike unsuspecting humans. Following a disruption of their power, the vampires are more restless than ever and looking for one more fight.
When a young witch shows up on the Beechwood Manor’s front porch, begging for asylum, Holly can’t turn her away. But when the trouble nipping at the witch’s heels follows her through the manor’s front door, she might be the last guest Holly and Adam ever check in.
Will the battle between the vampires and the Haven Council prove to be the undoing of the magical world, or can Holly and her friends rise up and stop the vampires once and for all?
Find out in the final book of the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries series.
My top thoughts:
I’ve had this for a few months, and I was both dying to read it and putting it off because, well it’s the last book and as the title suggests, “Goodbye’s a Bitch Witch.” But I finally read it and while I’m really sad that this series is over, it was a fantastic ending.
What I liked/didn’t like:
I think one of my favorite things about final books (or tv shows actually) is that the writers tend to bring back ALL THE CHARACTERS. Even if they just got a short cameo, you get to see them. And that was true of this book. I really enjoyed seeing a bit of everyone I’ve loved throughout the series — and seeing them reach major milestones of their own.
As is typical of Beechwood Harbor, there’s also magical trouble afoot and somehow Holly has landed herself right in the middle of it. So she and the gang we’ve come to love unit once more to save the day. Danielle Garrett did a nice job of giving us a mystery like we’ve come to expect, while also tying quite a few nice little HEA bows.
Narrator thoughts:
Amanda Ronconi has narrated the entire series and I’ve enjoyed every minute of her narration. She’s one of my favorite narrators and she’s perfectly matched for series like this with sarcastic humor and light mystery.
Thankfully I still haven the other Beechwood Harbor series to read, so it’s not a full fledged goodbye, thank goodness!
Goodbye's are hard, but at least it's a great one! Berls reviews Goodbye's a Witch 5/5 stars Share on X
It was sad to see the last book. My only consolation was her promise to do some spinoffs in the future with these characters as secondary ones.
agreed! And I have the other Beechwood Harbor series to read still 🙂
I haven’t read this but it does sound like it would be good.
I really love this world – the characters are fantastic! I encourage you to read them for sure!
I have to go back and finish the series. I got lost around book 8 . You and Jen have encouraged me to go back and finish the series.
Oh yes, you must! Such a great series. I’m a huge fan of these characters. I’m looking forward to seeing them in other books (old series I haven’t read yet and future spin offs)
It’s tough when beloved series end, but it’s good when they end well, and this one did. I am glad that the author continues to pen equally enjoyable stories, though. I hope you are checking them out!
I’ve read several of her books – but I think this series was my introduction to her work, so I have lots of catching up to do!
